Abstract

At the time ahead of midterm or in semester’s final exam at Petra Christian University is definitely needed assistants that will keep on every class on the test subjects. Therefore we need a proctor before determining a schedule that will be covered, it would require a meeting in order to determine the schedule. So this application is made to be easier for assistants and coordinator of exam to determine the schedule and not waste more time between coordinator. The coordinator and assistant simply open the application. The assistant can put their schedule in accordance with the date and time of their examinations, and the coordinator can also produce the program by using genetic algorithm with the restrictions that have been given by the exam’s coordinator. So the schedule that has been produced have a match with the end result. And has a variety of additional features such as providing notice to assistant, and export schedules make it to Microsoft Office Excel or print directly. At the time of the survey the genetic algorithm, this program has a schedule in accordance with the limit given by the coordinator of the exam. So this program should be used by the coordinator of the exam of Petra Christian University in the study program information technology.

Abstract

Nowadays, almost all communication using internet, but is not all, now object also can communicating each other, this concept is calls Internet of Things (IoT). Things in IoT can be everything that we use every day. In this journal, the thing is water container or in Indonesia it calls ”bak mandi”. Why water container? Because, after we use water in the water container usually the level of the water container is reduced and we must fill it up for other people that use the water container. Usually in the process of filling the water container, we forgot to close the valve or pump so water is overflowing and the water is wasted. This is why we thought using the Internet of Things concept can solve the problem. In our solution is make a device or module that can monitoring level of the water container. That device or module can open and close the pump or valve automatically so water not overflowing and wasted. To make device or module that can generate level of the water container we use ultrasonic sensor. But that bring up hypothesis: could ultrasonic sensor read level of water container and how good the accuracy?

Abstract

Human access to latest news now becoming more easier and much more, caused by advanced technological development in latest years. But, the article categorization is still manually inserted by the writer, so sometimes by human error, some mistake can be happening, like inserting wrong category or sometimes the writer purposely insert wrong category just because that category is so popular just to boost his viewer count. That’s why there is an application in the form of website to automatically categorizing the article that fit mostly to their its category.This application is using N-Gram feature and Naïve Bayes Classifier method to classifying news content. N-Gram feature is a feature that group words based on the amount of N, like unigram or bigram. Naïve Bayes Classifier is a method that using probability to solve some problem.According to the test using Naïve Bayes Classifier, in dataset training and test with ratio of 50 : 50, at unigram section the correct accuracy result are 0.901,  and the bigram result are 0.508. In dataset ratio of 60 : 40, at unigram section the correct accuracy result are 0.904, and the bigram result are 0.498. In dataset ratio of 70 : 30, at unigram section the correct accuracy result are 0.947, and the bigram result are 0.519. In dataset ratio of 80 : 20, at unigram section the correct accuracy result are 0.887, and the bigram result are 0.507. So, the conclusion is dataset training and test with ratio of 70 : 30 yield highest accuracy, in unigram (0.947) and also bigram (0.519).

Abstract

Ray tracing is a technique in computer graphics that produced image by traversing ray from eye to every pixels on screen, and then the intersection checks between ray and objects are done. Ray tracing can produce a photorealistic image, but needs a long time to do the computations. One of the ways to shorten the computation time is by reducing the number of intersection checks between ray and objects. One of the popular methods is Bounding Volume Hierarchy (BVH).In this application, Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) is also used beside BVH. The CUDA’s usage purpose is to reduce computation time by doing parallel computing in the GPU. Computations done in GPU are computing ray directions from eye to every pixels and color of every pixels.The result of this application is more than 70% rendering time reduced when compared to ray tracing application with only BVH. The maximum reduction is 86%.

Abstract

Robot manipulator is a technology that is widely used in all life applications. Because of the widespread use of robot manipulators, it is given robotics learning for students interested in robotics in Electrical Engineering courses. The price of the robot is relatively expensive and the existence of mathematical calculations become obstacles.This thesis is made to answer the above problem. This application is made with Unity engine with C # programming language. This application simulates the movement of robots either forward or inverse kinematic with the limits of DOF 2 and 3. A similar application that is a comparison is RoboAnalyzer.Based on the test results, the program 'FIK' has described the forward and inverse kinematik, mathematical formula calculation, simulator movement, and the resulting trace. For kinematic inverse results only show one result, whereas in the comparison program display the possibility of 2-4 answers.

Abstract

Folklore is stories handed down from time to time which tells the life of a hero, people from ancient times , and variety of Indonesian ancient cultures. Folklore has many benefits by providing good morals for young people or helping to learn the culture in a certain area. But along with the development of technology, cultural traditions in Indonesia began to fade. Ease of obtaining information to make people more interested in following foreign cultures rather than maintain the culture of Indonesia. Folklore also get the impact, causing people prefer find out foreign folklore such as Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and many more better than finding Indonesian folklore that contain a lot of moral story and ethical values.By way of adjusting to the evolving technologies, this application is easily available in the gadget with the android operating system. The advantage of this application is in addition to tell the story to the people, this application also has mini games that people can play. Several mini games contained in this application uses a sensor in android device which is an accelerometer sensor which serves to capture the acceleration of gadget. This folklore application is an application-based learning with mobile devices designed with Java and compiling assisted by Android Studio.The application development is intended to increase public interest in the Cindelaras folklore and as well as a medium of learning for children about moral and ethical values.

Abstract

Management Information System has become one of the mediaused to facilitate the administration, storing and viewing dataquickly and easily through Web. Nowadays, manualadministration requires more and less efficient resources,causing human error to affect important data.To answer the issue, a management information system is neededby utilizing website-based technology , assisted by AcceleratedMobile pages on the main page .By utilizing this technology, awebsite can be easily opened even in a slow internet connection.In addition, the presence of the website as a media managementinformation system facilitates the management of data, theadministration process of all parties in need in the languagecourse.From the research and testing systems that have been made, theapplication can help facilitate the process of administration anddata management. From the results of the questionnaireconducted on 10 respondents, the level of satisfaction with theprogram reached 3.1 on a scale of 4.

Abstract

Game is a multi media application that need some main parts such as, goal, challenge and game play or usually has been know as rules in a game.Survival action game will apply real time system in its game play. Real time game usually needs fast decision making method for artificial intelligence, so it can’t interrupt any system in the game.Backpropagation is one of the fastest method that can be used to process data for decision making. Backpropagation method can use data training transformation feature so outputs from backpropagate calculation can be different than before. In its application, backpropagation needs to applying winner-take-all architecture so backpropagation system, can run the training process nicely.Based on testing result, backpropagation system can be applied in real time game and data training addition feature can gives the transformation for making decision that can be different than before.

Abstract

During this match is done by way of introduction process intended to get married. In general, introductions are conducted by exchanging biodata between men and women accompanied by intermediaries such as parents, close relatives, friends or dating agency. This is of course difficult for men and women who want to find a mate because if men and women want to meet, they must meet face to face. In addition without the use of communication tools men and women will not be able to express their feelings.This application is created using the programming language PHP, Java and MySQL database. App view using Android Studio 2.2 program. Chat feature using chat messenger telegram template.The end result of this application development is able to show recommendation of candidate pair according to result of calculation, fill criteria value according to desire, answer criteria question, add friendship, chat between users, give notification to user, and change answer and criteria value. Users can also see some personal information about candidates for recommendations that are displayed such as name, age, city and date of birth.

Abstract

Orchid flowers are the flowering plants with the most types or species. One of them is the moon orchid flower which is one of the three national flowers in Indonesia. Orchid flowers can be found in city parks and many tourist attractions because of its beauty. However, people will certainly have difficulty in recognizing the type of orchid. Therefore, a program is made to help people in identifying the types of orchids that are around. Orchid flower recognition has already been researched to recognize the texture of its flower. However, this study uses 25 species of orchids that is from Indonesia to be recognized.You Only Look Once (YOLO) method is used for detecting flower objects in the image. Before classifying the orchid species, the background image need to be removed using Image Segmentation. The Color Local Binary Pattern descriptor is used to get the texture of the image through several colorspaces, namely grayscale, RGB, HSI, YIQ, and oRGB. Support Vector Machine is then used to recognize the type of orchid.The result of this program can recognize the species of orchids in the picture. From the test results using the researcher’s dataset show an accuracy of 30.7% using color space grayscale, 37% using color space RGB, 34.6% using color space HSI, 41% using color space YIQ, and 40.2% using color space oRGB in recognizing the species of orchid.
