Abstract

This study explores the indirect association connecting good corporate governance dimensions and firm performance, mediated through capital structure. This study utilized a sample of 67 manufacturing companies registered on the Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2017. The data was also handled using the Eviews 10.0 version. The findings show that board of director size, board independence, managerial ownership, and ownership concentration showed no impact on the capital structure. Board size, board independence, and ownership concentration affected the financial performance directly. However, the board's independence, size, and ownership concentration failed to indirectly influence the financial performance. Further, the managerial ownership exhibited no meaningful influence on the financial performance, either directly or indirectly. The findings support that the dimensions of Good Corporate Governance impact firm performance, particularly when interacting with capital structure. The implications are valuable for policymakers and corporate leaders, as they highlight that good governance practices alone may not be sufficient; optimal capital structure strategies must also be incorporated. The findings provide new insights into corporate governance policy by demonstrating its role beyond traditional monitoring, suggesting that governance practices can influence performance when combined with effective capital management strategies. Therefore, the findings enrich the academic discourse by presenting a more thorough perspective on how the corporate governance dimensions relate to capital structure to enhance financial performance.

Abstract

Police work is considered one of the professions most susceptible to stress. Sustained stress will cause burnout and negatively affect work and other aspects of an individual's life. Several problems, such as work-family conflicts, can also exacerbate this condition. This study aims to determine the role of psychological capital as a moderator of the effect of work-family conflict on burnout in Mobile Brigade Corps/Brimob members. The study used a quantitative design, with the research subjects being 117 Mobile Brigade Command members who are married and have children. The sampling method employed was random probability sampling, ensuring that each member of the target population had an equal chance of being selected. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires containing the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey, Work-Family Conflict Scale, and Psychological Capital Questionnaire. The analysis technique employed descriptive analysis and inferential analysis in the form of simple linear regression and interaction tests using the JASP application. This study hypothesizes that work-family conflict may significantly affect burnout, with psychological capital potentially serving as a moderating factor in the model. The findings of this study have important theoretical and practical implications. Theoretically, the study contributes to understanding burnout mechanisms within high-stress professions, particularly law enforcement. Practically, the results can inform policy and intervention strategies aimed at reducing burnout by strengthening psychological capital among Mobile Brigade Corps personnel.

Abstract

Adopting digital payment systems is crucial for developing MSMEs, particularly in emerging regions with limited digital infrastructure. This study addresses the knowledge gap regarding digital payment adoption in areas that are not entirely digitally connected, such as Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), the new capital of Indonesia. The study aims to identify the factors influencing MSME owners' behavioral intention and usage behavior regarding digital payment systems, using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) framework. This study employs a survey method with a convenience sampling technique, involving 350 MSME owners in IKN and its surrounding areas. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions significantly influence behavioral intention to adopt digital payments. However, effort expectancy does not significantly affect the intention to use digital payments. Additionally, facilitating conditions and behavioral intention impact usage behavior significantly. No evidence supported the moderating role of voluntariness of use in the relationship between social influence and behavioral intention. Digital literacy was found to moderate the relationship between behavioral intention and usage behavior, highlighting the critical role of digital literacy in technology adoption. This study provides important contributions to understanding the factors influencing digital payment adoption in developing regions.

Abstract

Impulsive buying behavior has become a fascinating area of study in consumer behavior, particularly in today's highly competitive retail landscape, where spontaneous purchases often play a pivotal role in driving sales. This study delves into how the store environment influences impulsive buying, both directly and indirectly, by examining the sense of shopping enjoyment it creates and the moderating role of money availability. Rooted in the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) Model, Flow Theory, and existing insights on impulsive buying, this study adopts a quantitative approach through surveys. Feedback was gathered from 200 participants who frequent three popular clothing stores in Malang, capturing their authentic experiences and purchasing dynamics. Using purposive sampling, the study focuses on individuals whose shopping habits reflect the nuances of impulsive buying, aiming to uncover how emotional, environmental, and financial factors interplay to shape their decisions. The structural relationships between variables were analyzed using SmartPLS 3.0, revealing compelling insights into the consumer experience. The findings highlight that the store environment significantly enhances impulsive buying behavior, with shopping enjoyment as a partial bridge in this relationship. Moreover, the availability of money strengthens the connection between the store environment and impulsive buying, magnifying the impact of an engaging atmosphere on spontaneous purchase decisions. What sets this study apart is its exploration of shopping enjoyment as a fleeting emotion and a meaningful link in the consumer decision-making process, coupled with the pivotal role of money availability as a moderating factor. These insights provide actionable guidance for retailers to craft inviting and enjoyable store environments while being mindful of customers’ financial realities, which can create moments of delight that translate into increased sales. This approach underscores the power of understanding the human side of consumer behavior in shaping memorable shopping experiences.

Abstract

Financial literacy is essential for proficient financial management, impacting the utilization and enhancement of financial technology such as digital payment within Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This study investigates the influence of financial literacy on the effectiveness of digital payment use, with financial behavior serving as a mediating variable. It also examines the moderating influence of gender in these connections to further the understanding of digital payment adoption dynamics. This study employed a quantitative methodology, utilizing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for data analysis. A purposive sampling strategy identified 192 MSME owners utilizing Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) from four Indonesian cities: Medan, Bali, Makassar, and Surabaya, reflecting diverse economic and technological environments. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and processed with SmartPLS 4.0. The findings indicate that financial literacy substantially affects the effectiveness of QRIS use, both directly and indirectly through financial behavior. Owners of MSMEs possessing elevated financial literacy exhibit superior financial conduct, including systematic cash flow management, hence augmenting QRIS utilization. Gender is a moderating variable in the correlation between financial literacy and financial behavior, indicating disparities in financial habits among men and women. This study underscores the significance of customized financial education programs to improve financial literacy and practices among MSMEs. Optimizing QRIS adoption can improve financial transparency, operational efficiency, and competitiveness, facilitating Indonesia's shift towards a more inclusive and sustainable digital economy.

Abstract

This study is important considering the rapid adoption of live streaming technology in the fashion industry, which has become a primary tool for boosting sales. Understanding the factors influencing fashion vendors' use of this technology is crucial, as it can help businesses and marketplace platforms design more effective and interactive marketing strategies. This study examines how behavioral intention affects the actual use of live streaming technology, while also considering the moderating role of gender in the relationships between these variables. The study adopts a quantitative approach, collecting data through a questionnaire survey. The population for this study consists of fashion vendors who actively use live streaming features on marketplaces such as Shopee, Tokopedia, and Lazada in the Tanah Abang area. Purposive sampling was employed as the sampling technique, as the study requires fashion vendors who meet specific criteria, namely, those who have used live streaming technology to sell their products on marketplaces. As a result, the sample size amounted to 211 participants. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS software to test the model’s validity and the relationships between variables. The findings show that trust significantly affects performance expectancy and effort expectancy. Both performance expectancy and effort expectancy significantly influence behavioral intention, and behavioral intention, in turn, positively affects the actual use of live streaming. This study offers new insights into how gender differences influence fashion vendors' perceptions and decisions when using live streaming technology as a marketing tool. Furthermore, it provides a deeper understanding of how trust in technology can strengthen performance and effort expectancies, ultimately enhancing behavioral intention and the actual use of live streaming technology.
