Abstract

This research aims to explore the experience of women by Batang Masumai river to slow violence. Limited access to water services and infrastructure in rural area affect women who bear the responsibility to meet household water need because they depend on the river as water source and sanitation facilities. Climate change as a form of slow violence that occurred gradual and attritional becomes a major threat to household water security. The method of this qualitative research is interpretative phenomenological analysis. The data is collected through an in-depth interview with four women from low-income households by Batang Masumai river and observation. The result of this reseacrh shows that floods and droughts that become more severe contribute to water availability, accessabiliy, and quality so that women by Batang Masumai river have to walk longer distances to meet clean household water, carry heavy burden load while also exposed to water conflicts in water points. As slow violence becomes more destructive in a long period of time, there is a need for government to fully implement Law 17/2019 regarding Water Resources to help women with limted sources to adapt and build their resiliency. Abstract

One of the current human resource management challenges is dealing with the behavior of employees who wish to move to another place because, in recent years, this phenomenon has continued to occur. The high rate of turnover intention also appears in several private and public hospitals in Malang Raya. This study aims to examine the effect of emotional intelligence on the intention to leave through nurses' organizational commitment. This type of research is explanatory. The research location is in private, public hospitals in Malang Raya (Malang City, Malang Regency, and Batu City). Using proportional random sampling, there were as many as 253 nurses with a response rate of 84.3%. The analysis method is descriptive statistics using the General Structured Component Analysis (GSCA) approach. The findings of this study indicate that emotional intelligence is a predictor of increasing organizational commitment and reducing intention to leave. They can cope with stress and work pressure more effectively, increasing job satisfaction and reducing the urge to leave the organization. The ability to understand, recognize, and manage emotions in themselves and others makes it easier for them to work with colleagues and superiors. Positive work relationships strengthen their attachment to the organization. Emotional intelligence helps reduce prolonged conflict and increases communication effectiveness, ultimately making the work environment more conducive. Abstract

Community participation manifests public awareness, concern, and responsibility for the importance of development, which aims to improve the quality of life. Development is the government's obligation and demands community involvement, whose quality will be improved. Indonesia, in carrying out environmental development, still really needs community participation in terms of waste management. Waste management aims to improve public health, environmental quality, and economic resources. This waste management activity will contribute to the government by creating job opportunities, improving welfare, and empowering women who do not work. This study analyzed women's participation in waste management in Dau District, Malang Regency. Respondents were 28 women who became administrators of the Family Welfare Program in the sub-district. To measure the level of participation, the number of scores from the variables was then calculated in the rating scale. The results showed that women's participation in waste management was at the placation level, namely the 5th level of the 8 participation levels. The research suggestion is to increase women's participation through empowerment, namely giving women greater decision-making in the waste management cycle, starting from planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating. Abstract

Community participation in waste management is very important because the community contributes the largest volume of waste generation. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the quality of the community's role in waste management from the perspective of women's perceptions. Data were obtained from 30 female organization administrators in Dau District, Malang Regency. The data were analyzed by using the ratio between the facts of respondents' answers and the maximum score for the quality of roles with ordinal data scales. The results showed that group roles' quality was highest, discussion attendance was high, physical activity was high, and waste management fees were lowest. This research suggests that public awareness of paying dues needs to be increased by motivating through the 3R partial waste management results to improve public facilities in the village and sub-district areas. Abstract

This research aims to understand the role and impact of advocacy through social media in strengthening the Kendeng community movement against establishing a cement factory in Rembang Regency, Indonesia. Utilizing a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, this study employs interviews and documentation as data collection techniques. Data analysis follows an interactive model that includes data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the Kendeng community leverages social media as a principal tool for voicing their aspirations, expanding networks, and mobilizing support. Social media enhances the offline movement by widely disseminating information to the public, while real-action activism remains central. Therefore, this research also aims to explore social media's impact in achieving social movements' goals and whether it serves merely as a trend or has a substantive effect. In the Indonesian context, where conglomerates with vested interests often dominate mainstream media, social media provides an alternative space for marginalized voices. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the interplay between social media and social movements, highlighting its significance in advocating for social justice, environmental preservation, and democratic participation. Keywords: Kendeng community movement; social media; cement plant rejection; online advocacy; Rembang Regency
