Abstract

This research aims to highlight the understanding of entrepreneurship policy implementation, particularly in Indonesia with an analysis at the micro and macro levels. Essentially, this research applied the qualitative descriptive method called document analysis from the previous study and governmental documents to gain a-detailed evidence pertaining to the entrepreneurship policy program in Indonesia. Data on entrepreneurial policy program planning, the National Long-Term Development Plan, and program reports were acquired from the Ministry of National and Development Planning 2005-2025. The findings of this research illustrate the 10 entrepreneurship policy programs at the implementation stages. It can be drawn that the entrepreneurship policy is fundamentally aimed at increasing the number of aspiring entrepreneurs or new ventures. The practical implication of this study resulted from the two different program implications at stages of analysis of Micro and Macro. Brought together, its implementation at the micro level is still primarily based on the creation of skills that could adequately cover managerial, business industry, and technical communication technology; motivation that covers incubators or mentoring programs, and greater exposure; which covers opportunity, visibility, also access to market, business and finance. Meanwhile, the analysis at the macro level resulted that government policy largely focuses on venture capital funding, innovation and education for entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship culture, infrastructure and services of entrepreneurship and lastly professional training for trainers. Keywords: entrepreneurship, government policy program, micro, macro, Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to explore the learning experience of mompreneurs who have studied in college with patriarchal culture setting in Madura in combating the crisis caused by the covid-19 pandemic. This study used a case study methodology with a multi-case approach. Data were obtained through observations, interviews, and digital tracing. This study reveals that based on all the cases, being mompreneurs and not working in the formal sector is a choice to focus on running the duty as a mother and on getting full support from husband and family. In running the business and family, there is collective consciousness that all the revenue received by family members are blessings (rejeki) from Allah by getting it through halalan tayyiban principle. The promotions have used social media with various intensities. The Covid-19 Pandemic significantly affects mompreneurs whose primary basis is in-person selling, while online selling was not affected. The experimental learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic is maximizing promotions through social media, cutting operational costs, changing the payroll system to profit sharing, and broadening the business lines. Keywords: mompreneurs, the patriarchal, family support, the covid-19 pandemic, learning experience

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected SME businesses and forced them to respond to the situation. Business model innovation (BMI) is considered as a suitable choice of innovation mode for the sustainability of SMEs. The change in the business model (BM) in SMEs varies among organizations. Therefore, this study attempts to further explain the changes in BM for SMEs during the pandemic. Through this research, the understanding of BMI is expected to increase substantially, especially in the context of SMEs. The study performed a qualitative approach through multiple case studies to analyse the information and obtain factual findings to understand this phenomenon. Eight cases with different backgrounds were submitted and interviewed through semi-structured online interviews to obtain information about the BMI in SMEs. The findings show that although SMEs intervene through BM changes, the changes adjust to SMEs’ internal and external situations. In other cases, BM changes only focus on several sub-value systems (value capture, value creation, or value proposition). In certain other cases, SMEs were forced to radically change their value systems due to the extreme impact of the pandemic on their businesses and environment. This study conceptualizes BM changes in SMEs, as classified into type 1, type 2, type 3, and type 4, arranged based on the level of complexity (x-axis) and novelty of change (y-axis). The model can be justified through eight cases in this study. This study contributes to the scientific development of BM/BMI and justifies changes in BM empirically. For practitioners, this study clearly defines the direction of changing BMs in extreme situation. Keywords: BMI, multiple case studies, different magnitude, pandemic, SMEs

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has created uncertainty and disruptions in Supply Chain (SC), which has caused many researchers to re-study Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) to deal with risks due to the pandemic. Moreover, the direction of post-pandemic SCRM research is more toward Supply Chain Resilience (SCRes) which is the ability of a supply chain to prepare for disruptions and return to normalcy. Many researchers have started researching SCRes to carry out SC recovery measures. However, research on the quantification of SCRes is still rare and is an opportunity. One of the risk quantification methods in the SCRM field is the House of Risk (HoR). This study develops a SCRes assessment framework with the help of the HoR. HoR has two stages, namely: HoR1 for identifying the risks and HoR2 for mitigating the risks. In this study, one step was added, namely the level assessment stage of resilience. The resilience profile is calculated based on the risk map and mitigation plan. This study succeeded in providing a framework for assessing the level of resilience using the help of HoR. Meanwhile, only an illustrative case study is used. Our future research is on how to apply the proposed resilience assessment framework to a real case. By using Mann Whitney that is used to decide the difference in the median of the 2 independent groups. The results displayed that based on of age, geographical area, having another job, having a business after and before the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact of the pandemic there was no difference in self-efficacy, motivation, competence, and creativity. Differences happen in the variables of motivation, competence and creativity based on gender. Abstract

One of the positive results of digital transformation in Indonesia is a fairly advanced startup developed and has contributed to Indonesia’s GDP. The issue of success of several Indonesian startups such as Gojek, Traveloka, Tokopedia, and Bukalapak triggered the community to flock to establish a startup, but the startup was established without going through a business incubation program, while business incubators in Indonesia have been around since 1994 long before the startup was founded. This is different from overseas, where startups such as Airbnb and Dropbox, alumni of business incubators, have achieved more than $30 billion USD. This study was conducted to investigate the startup models and the business incubator services that include 992 startups and 23 business incubators in Indonesia. The analysis technique used in this study is a descriptive analysis by identifying websites of 992 startup and 23 business incubators. Sampling was done by the non-probability sampling method with saturation sampling method (census). The data used are startup registered in Indonesia Mapping & Database Startup 2018 and business incubator in Indonesia. The results show that startups with independent model dominate business in Indonesia, with private ownership and from indigenous people. As for services from business incubators in Indonesia, they have provided key services to create sustainability from technopreneurship. Abstract

The government's efforts to accelerate economic growth in Indonesia are carried out by encouraging people to become entrepreneurs. Several studies conducted during the last 10 years show that the growth of entrepreneurship in a country cannot be separated from the participation and role of women. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support and business performance improvement of women entrepreneurs. This study found that social support has an important role, especially for women entrepreneurs, with social support provided to women, multiple role conflicts can be reduced. The social support provided to women entrepreneurs really helps them to be able to calmly do their jobs, build and develop their businesses. Increasing social support will reduce dual role conflicts and will have an effect on improving the business performance of women entrepreneurs. The managerial implications of the research are 1. Women as entrepreneurs (women's entrepreneurship) can find the various forms of social support needed to help them reduce the dual role conflicts that are often experienced by women's entrepreneurship 2. Women as entrepreneurs (women's entrepreneurship) can develop appropriate strategies to improve their business performance through the social support they receive.3. Women as business actors (women entrepreneurship) can find out what dual role conflicts will arise and affect their business performance when they do not get social support.
