The type of research conducted in this study is an experiment with a pre-experimental research design, utilizing the one-group pretest-posttest design model. The sample was determined using simple random sampling, consisting of a total of ten students. The data collection instrument used was a learning independence scale. Data analysis was performed using the paired sample test. The results of this study indicate that group guidance using problem-solving technique is effective in enhancing students’ learning independence. The findings of this research can serve as a technical solution for guidance and counseling services for guidance and counseling teachers in their efforts to increase students’ learning independence in junior high schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of self-acceptance in mediating the influence of gratitude and social support on subjective well-being. The sample criteria include mothers who have children with special needs, specifically those with children aged 1 to 12 years. The total number of samples used was 102 participants. The sampling technique employed was purposive sampling. The instruments used to measure the subjective well-being variables were the SWLS (Satisfaction with Life Scale) and PANAS (Positive Affect Negative Affect Schedule). The gratitude variable was measured using the Gratitude Questionnaire (GQ-6), while social support was assessed using the MSPSS (Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support). Self-acceptance was measured using the Porter Parent Acceptance Scale (PPAS). Data analysis was conducted in the form of mediation analysis using JASP version 18.3. The results showed that self-acceptance significantly mediated the influence of gratitude and social support on subjective well-being. The magnitude of the influence of gratitude and social support on self-acceptance was 63.7%, while the combined influence of gratitude, social support, and self-acceptance on subjective well-being was 97.4%. This indicates that the role of gratitude and social support, with the mediation of self-acceptance, is substantial in shaping subjective well-being for mothers who have children with special needs. The findings of this study are also recommended for the development of counseling guidance science by emphasizing mothers' self-acceptance to foster positive subjective well-being.

Abstract

Academic resilience, the ability of students to achieve success despite facing various challenges, is becoming an increasingly critical aspect of education. Factors such as socio-economic disparities, mental health issues, and academic obstacles can complicate the learning process. Therefore, students' ability to cope with pressure, meet academic demands, overcome difficulties, and adapt to challenges is essential for supporting optimal academic achievement. This systematic review investigates the role of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in enhancing academic resilience by strengthening self-efficacy, addressing socio-economic stressors, and mitigating mental health challenges. Following PRISMA guidelines, the review analyzes 20 peer-reviewed articles published between 2022 and 2024. Data were sourced from PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science using relevant search terms such as “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,” “academic resilience,” and “mental health.” CBT has been proven effective in enhancing academic resilience by strengthening coping strategies, improving self-efficacy, and addressing socio-economic and mental health challenges. Its adaptability across diverse cultural contexts and high- pressure fields further reinforces its relevance. By equipping students with psychological skills to manage stress and recover from setbacks, CBT contributes to long-term academic success. Future study should focus on developing culturally responsive CBT programs and conducting longitudinal studies to assess its long-term impact on student success. In the context of guidance and counseling, school counselors can integrate CBT techniques into their services to help students overcome feelings of inadequacy, develop a growth mindset, and manage negative emotions that may affect their academic performance.

Abstract

This development study aims to create adventure-based guidance services to enhance students' self-management and to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of these services. The development model used is the 4-D model. The selection of subjects was conducted using a random sampling technique. The research subjects consisted of 36 students in the experimental group and 36 students in the control group. The data collection technique involved the use of a questionnaire. Data analysis to determine product effectiveness was conducted using a paired-sample t-test. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The feasibility of adventure-based guidance services, based on validation scores from material experts, falls into the "feasible" category, while validation from media experts falls into the "very feasible" category. (2) Practicality, based on user validation results, is categorized as "very feasible." (3) The effectiveness of adventure-based guidance services in improving high school students' self-management, as measured by pre-test and post-test results, showed an increase from 26.56 to 72.89. This demonstrates an improvement in student self-management, indicating that the developed services are effective. Guidance and counseling teachers can utilize the results of this study to help students enhance their self-management through adventure-based guidance.

Abstract

The inability to express feelings, difficulty and confusion in making decisions, fear of making mistakes, and dependence on the approval of others are common challenges faced by peer counselors. This research aims to enhance the ability of peer counselors to behave assertively through assertiveness training. The research method used is pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study involved 14 peer counselors as research subjects. The instrument used is the Assertive Behavior Inventory, which consists of 33 statement items. The research findings indicate that assertiveness training interventions can improve assertive behavior. This is evidenced by the results of the paired sample t-test, which show that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. This suggests a significant difference in assertive behavior between the pre-test and post-test results, confirming the effectiveness of assertiveness training in enhancing assertive behavior among peer counselors. This study highlights the importance of strengthening peer counselor competencies, particularly assertive behavior skills, which play a crucial role in the success of the peer counseling service process.

Abstract

The problems that students experience most common today are a lack of self-confidence and a lack of career planning. This study is quantitative, using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design, aiming to determine the effectiveness of life skills-based career information services for high school students. The respondents in this study were twelfth-grade high school students, with a total of 72 students selected using simple random sampling. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistical analysis, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-tests for testing the effective contribution. This Life Skills-Based Career Information Service is effective and proven to be significant. These results suggest that career information services need to be provided to students so that they can determine career choices according to their potential.

Abstract

This research and development project aims to produce group guidance guidelines utilizing sociodrama techniques, incorporating Sunan Drajat chess scores that are deemed feasible by experts and proven effective in fostering the altruistic attitudes of high school students. This product was developed in accordance with the ADDIE model of research and development, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research and development involved eight students from class X at SMA Negeri 1 Sukodadi, along with counselors and guidance and counseling experts. The instruments used in this study include altruistic attitude scales and assessment questionnaires for experts and potential users. The product validity test was conducted through assessments by material experts, media experts, cultural experts, and potential users, utilizing inter-rater agreement analysis. Furthermore, to determine the effectiveness of the product, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was employed. Based on the results of the data analysis, the developed guidelines demonstrate very high validity in terms of acceptability, which includes accuracy, usability, convenience, and attractiveness. The results of the effectiveness test indicated that the intervention conducted by the counselor was effective in developing the altruistic attitudes of high school students. The findings of this research and development are recommended for implementation in group guidance services as one of the intervention strategies that can enhance students' altruistic attitudes.
