Abstract

This study aims to investigate the implementation of guidance and counseling services conducted in MAN 2 Banjarnegara. This research is a qualitative descriptive study.The participants are the four guidance and counseling teachers selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection instrument used an interview guidelines that is supported by interviews recording and documentation. Thi study used Miles and Huberman models as the data analysis techniques. The results showed that the implementation of guidance and counseling services in the MAN 2 Banjarnegara in the form of orientation services, information services , placement and distribution services, tutoring services, individual counseling, group counseling services are in the good category. The results of this study is useful for counseling and guidance teachers as the basis for the development of guidance and counseling services that are effective in accordance with the needs and development of the students.

Abstract

This study aimed to test the effectiveness of group counseling with spirituality-cognitive restructuring technique to improve students’ self esteem. This was an experimental study with pretest-posttest control group design. There were two groups assigned through purposive sampling based on the result of pre-test conducted by the researcher. The data analysis technique of this study was Wilcoxon Signed-rank-test. The result of Wilcoxon test showed that asymp.sig (2-tailed) was 0.026 < 0.05, so Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected on the experimental group. In other words, group counseling with spirituality-cognitive restructuring technique was effective to Improve Students’ self esteem. This study could be a guideline for the counselor in implementing Group counseling with spirituality-cognitive restructuring technique to improve the students’ self esteem. The future researcher is expected to be able to implement this integrative approach in a broader area.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the profile of religious identity on late adolescents. This was a quantitative study with descriptive survey design. The subject of this study was 134 students of Guidance and Counseling Department of Yogyakarta State University who were taken by simple random sampling technique. The data were collected through Religious Identity scale. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics.  The result of this study showed that 100 subjects were in the achievement status (75%), 27 subjects were in the searching moratorium status (20%), and seven subjects were in the foreclosure status (5%).  The result of this study took a role as the basis for formulating a guidance and counseling service to develop the religious identity on late adolescents.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk mengetahui apakah emotional focused coping mahasiswa kost lebih tinggi daripada emotional focused coping mahasiswa yang tinggal dengan orang tua pada mahasiswa jurusan Bimbingan dan Konseling. Tuntutan jaman yang kompleks dan tinggi menuntut para generasi muda untuk menyelesaikan pendidikannya sampai ke Perguruan Tinggi. Karena  banyak para lulusan SMA yang mau tidak mau harus meneruskan ke Perguruan Tinggi di luar daerah asal tempat tinggal. Yogyakarta sebagai kota pendidikan banyak mahasiswa yang berasal dari luar daerah terpaksa harus tinggal di tempat kost, artinya para mahasiswa kost ini harus mampu sendiri dalam menghadapi segala hal yang berkaitan dengan kehidupannya baik dalam rangka pemenuhan kebutuhan biologis seperti makan, minum, berteduh maupun kebutuhan psikologisnya seperti penyesuaian diri dengan lingkungan kost, lingkungan kampus serta lingkungan pergaulan yang luas Hal tersebut berbeda dengan mahasiswa yang berasal dari Yogyakarta, beberapa masalah yang dihadapi mereka bisa konsultasi dengan orang Ada berbagai jenis masalah yang sering dialami oleh remaja, misalnya masalah hubungan sosial, masalah pribadi, masalah hubungan dengan orang tua atau masalah dengan lawan jenis. Masalah yang dialami dan dirasakan remaja bersumber dari kebutuhan remaja untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan dan keinginan untuk memperoleh status di tengah masyarakatnya (Mappiare, 1982)

Abstract

The study was motivated by the lack of creativity in facilitating the learning behavior of receiving the material, making the situation uncomfortable in learning, improve behavior, learning, finding new ideas in the process of studying at SMK Negeri 5 Yogyakarta. This study aimed to test the classical guidance services using mapping techniques thought to enhance the creativity of student learning behavior. The method used in this research is classroom action research (Classroom action research), which will be conducted in two cycles of action. The research was conducted at SMK Negeri 5 Yogyakarta in XI class in Visual Communication Design A. The sampling technique in this study with purposive sampling, and subjects were 34 students. The instruments used are observation and questionnaires (questionnaires) in the form of Likert scale. The data were analyzed by using test product moment. The results showed that before the given actions that are in the lower categories, namely the frequency of the number 10 (29.45%), and the medium category with a number of frequency of 24 (70.6%). Once given the action in middle category by the number of frequency of 16 (47.1%), and are in the high category, with the number of frequency of 17 (50.0%), the category of very high that the number of frequency 1 (2.9%), Thus, there is an increase in creativity through the guidance of classical learning behavior in class XI student of Visual Communication Design A SMK Negeri 5 Yogyakarta. Information from this research can be useful for teachers BK BK services in developing techniques that one mind mapping technique in a variety of BK services to assist students in improving creativity learning behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the psychological factors that affect happiness elderly Javanese in Klaten. The approach used qualitative phenomenological study types. Data collection techniques by observation and interviews of the three objects. The object of research is intended that three grandparents (elderly) aged 85 years. Two elderly widowers and the elderly are still married which seemed to live in harmony (harmony). The whole object of research is Muslim, diligent prayer, living in the village, and all living in a home with children, grandchildren, and law. The results of this study indicate that there are 14 factors that affect happiness elderly (earnings; age; religion; culture; thanks to the Lord; physical activity; social relationships; forgiveness; quality of life; Hospitality; healthy; married; relate well to children, grandchildren, and daughter, as well as a good relationship with the brothers) and there are 13 of affects that affects happiness elderly (feel happy, patient, calm atmosphere, optimistic, calm serene, feel compassionate, considerate, passionate, not revenge, relaxed, polite, happy to help / give, and not afraid of death / resignation to fate of old age). Based on the research results it can be concluded that there are 14 and 13 affective factors that affect happiness elderly and considers that it is important for them. The results of this study for the families of the elderly and the community to take a stand in the face and continually meet the needs of the elderly. Furthermore, the results also useful for counselor as a material consideration in implementing gerontology counseling (counseling elderly) in order to achieve elderly to get happiness.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the skills of interpersonal communication between counselors and students, school staff, and parents. The approach used mixed method, with the type of evaluation research. The research instrument consisted of a questionnaire interpersonal communication skills and interview guides interpersonal communication skills. Subject of research is three counselors in one of SMK Negeri Malang. The results showed that interpersonal communication skills counselors with students, school staff, and parents are performing well with an average percentage score of 81.7%. The results of this study helpful for counselors as consideration in the development of interpersonal communication skills. Therefore, it is expected for counselors in order to continue to develop interpersonal communication skills with students, school staff, and parents through training / workshops.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the understanding of the students’ pro-social behavior. This was a guidance and counseling action research with quantitative approach. The sample of this study was thirty students who were taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data collection method for this study was done through observation and employing psychological scale to find out the understanding of the students’ pro-social behavior.  The data analysis for this study was descriptive analysis by calculating the improvement percentage of pro-social behavior scale score on every given informational service action.  The result of this study showed that there was 85% improvement in the understanding of pro-social behavior after the informational service through Blog media was given. This study gives an alternative of the use of Blog media as a strategy for the counselor in improving the understanding of the students' pro-social behavior.

Abstract

This study aimed to discover the learning difficulties experienced by the guidance and counseling students on group counseling practicum. This study was categorized as a descriptive study involving 286 students of seven Universities in the Special Region of Yogyakarta as the sample of the study. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique of this study was a learning difficulties in group counseling practicum questionnaire by open and closed-ended questions. The data of this study were analyzed by using simple descriptive analysis by calculating the percentage and the categorization of the questionnaire score. The result of the study showed that the most contributing factor to the the students’ learning difficulties on the group counseling practicum was the aspect of the lecturer' teaching method by 53.31%. Besides, the result of the open-ended questionnaire showed that lack of group counseling basic skill mastery is one of the difficulties they experience during the group counseling service at the school. It contributes 38.46%. It showed that the practicum teaching methods need improvement to optimize the students' ability in practicing group counseling in school. This study becomes the basic consideration of the needs of learning model for group counseling practicum for the students of guidance and counseling in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Pengembangan Manajemen Bimbingan dan Konseling Berbasis ICT. Penelitian ini bertujuan utama mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis manajemen program bimbingan dan konseling komprehensif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian quasi-eksperimen dengan desain nonrandomized prestest-posttest control group. penelitian ini instrumen yang dipakai adalah skala sebagai instrumen utama, observasi, dan wawancara sebagai instrumen pendukung. Metode penentuan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. hasil penelitian diperoleh Hasil temuan penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan rerata yang tinggi pada keenam aspek yang diteliti. Terdapat peningkatan efektivitas yang signifikan pada penggunaan ICT dalam manajemen bimbingan dan konseling komprehensif. Kata kunci : Bimbingan dan Konseling, ICT
