Abstract

Indonesia's public servants struggle to match the comparative performance of its top ASEAN peers, potentially due to an underdeveloped workforce. This study, drawing on insights from 214 public servants, delves deeper to identify key performance drivers. Surprisingly, this analysis, using a Structural Equation Model, reveals no significant link between organizational culture and employee commitment, motivation, or performance. Instead, the study pinpoints competency mismatch as the critical factor hindering effectiveness. Actionable insights emerge, highlighting the need for strategic skill development programs tailored to individual roles and responsibilities. Furthermore, the research underscores the current emphasis on behavioral factors, calling for a shift towards targeted interventions that modify employee behavior and drive performance improvement.

This study aims to empirically investigate tourist satisfaction by the rural tourism services quality and tourism experience, mediated by the offered value. This research analyzes 123 visitor responses, by constructing a Structural-Equation-Modeling with WarpPLS. The results of the research show that rural tourism service quality influences the customers’ value and satisfaction. The tailored experience enhances the offered value. Building a strong value proposal embedded in the tourism brings positive result to tourist’ satisfaction as well as mediate the effects of service quality and experience in it. Abstract

The development of literature regarding ambidexterity needs to include the discussion in the strategic renewal amidst increasingly dynamic organizational changes. This research aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the ambidexterity literature in the context of organizational change. The reviewed articles were taken from the Scopus database, consisting of 314 articles from 2003 to November 2022 using PoP software. Bibliometric analysis is carried out with the help of VOS Viewer to build, visualize, and explore bibliometric networks. This study uses systematic data to uncover emerging trends and qualitative inductive analysis to determine relevant themes within the topic. The results show that ambidexterity can improve the performance and viability of complex businesses. Overall, this review highlights the importance of ambidexterity in organizational success and suggests avenues for further research to deepen academic understanding and increase practical applications.

Abstract

There is still debate among academics about the activities and operations of universities and whether they can be equated with business entities. This study analyzes the relationship between student resource factors and university value co-creation activities. Several variables in this research have never been studied in the context of higher education services. This research employs a quantitative approach and involves the participation of 398 students from various universities in Makassar, Indonesia. Data is processed and analyzed using Smart-PLS software. The results showed that student resources, such as student self-efficacy, student education, and student expertise, positively and significantly influenced value co-creation activities in the university environment. The creation of university values must create a positive environment to attract future pupils.

Abstract

This quantitative study investigates the impact of Islamic work ethic on employee response and job satisfaction within the Indonesian Islamic banking sector. It contributes to the academic literature by examining the nuanced relationships among these variables, shedding light on organizational dynamics specific to Islamic banking contexts. This study investigates survey responses from 120 Islamic banking employees by employing partial-least-square structural-equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Our findings indicate a significant positive influence of Islamic work ethic on both employee response and job satisfaction. We uncover the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between Islamic work ethic and employee response, providing valuable insights for human resource management practices in Islamic banking environments.

Abstract

Employees are required to maintain positive interactions with one another in the workplace. This study advances the conversation of ethical leadership and ethical culture on employee performance, with voice behavior as a mediator. This study distributed 350 questionnaires to construction company employees in Bantul, Indonesia, and obtained a 153-response rate (43.71%). Structural equation modeling with Amos software is used to analyze the coded information. This study found a substantial link between ethical leadership, ethical culture, and voice behavior in increasing employee performance. Furthermore, voice behavior was discovered to mediate in both relationships. The finding implies a critical need to maintain positive conversations inside firms as they are part of job satisfaction indicators.

Abstract

This research comprehensively investigates the causes of NPF risk factors and proposes control strategies in Indonesian Islamic Banking. This model constructs a research model by Employing Generalized Least Squares, Path Analysis, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), and Interpretative Structural Modelling (ISM). The data is pooled from 12 Indonesian Islamic banks from 2012 to 2020. These exhaustive analyses reveal an intricate building of unresolved debts. Some key findings in the financial ratios support the positive impact of good corporate governance (GCG) and Islamic corporate social responsibility (ICSR) on NPF. In contrast, asset utilization (AUR) negatively affects NPF. Furthermore, profitability and operation costs increase NPF. Some indirect paths are also realized. This research proposes a more holistic approach to forming NPFs in Islamic banking, critical for managerial decision-making in drafting their budget structures.

Abstract

The 'have it all' ideology has proven challenging; thus, many married women turn to direct selling. While offering easiness, recent studies highlight its potential exploitation, particularly among low-income individuals. This study addresses the scarcity of qualitative research on married women in Indonesia's beauty industry who engage in direct selling, examining how socioeconomic conditions impact their lives. Through snowball sampling and in-depth interviews among 16 married women direct sellers, the findings indicated that socioeconomic status enhances their ability to balance multiple roles. However, success is not assured, regardless of initial conditions. These findings are pivotal for policymakers and practitioners seeking to establish a fairer, more empowering environment for women.

Abstract

This study explores how the brand image of a legacy automaker like Toyota adapts in the face of increasing competition in eco-friendly vehicles and advanced technology. We examine how customers perceive Toyota's product quality and pricing strategies in relation to brand image and purchase decisions. Through a survey of 170 customers, we utilize a covariance-based structural equation model (CB-SEM) to analyze the data. Interestingly, our findings suggest that product quality does not directly influence brand image, nor does it have an indirect effect on buying decisions. However, other hypothesized relationships within the model were supported. This implies that for established brands like Toyota, price competitiveness might be a more significant factor for a large segment of their customer base. Toyota's focus on price competitiveness could potentially deter new entrants, allowing them to refine their offerings with more strategic pricing.

Abstract

Remote workers have faced a sudden shift to virtual work without flexibility and often with inadequate training. This situation increases the burden related to technology. This study investigates the impact of perceived technology support and digital self-efficacy on career satisfaction among employees, and the mediating effect of perceived employability. This quantitative research was conducted using a survey approach. The study involved 210 remote workers, and data collection was conducted using a questionnaire, and analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0. The findings showed that perceived technology support had a positive influence on career satisfaction, while digital self-efficacy had no impact on career satisfaction. Perceived employability plays a mediating role in the relationship between perceived technology support, digital self-efficacy, and career satisfaction. This study extends the existing literature by exploring career satisfaction in the remote workers in the tourism industry.
