Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a digital booklet based on augmented reality with whole number material to improve self-regulation of class IV students, as well as to test the effect of digital booklets based on augmented reality on self-regulation of class IV students. The method applied in this research is Research and Development (RnD) with steps in developing the ASSURE model. The experimental design used was pre-respond and post-respond with non-equivalent control group design. Based on the research results, it is known that the material validity score by material experts reached 94%, media experts reached 95%, while language experts achieved 97%, all three were categorized as very valid. Apart from that, the teacher response to the feasibility aspect reached 89% in the very feasible category. Based on student responses in the form of a questionnaire to increase self-regulation in the experimental class, the average NGain was 0.3784, while in the control class it was 0.3280. Meanwhile, to test the hypothesis using the t paired sample test, a Sig (tailed) value of 0.000 was obtained. So that 0.000<0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which can be interpreted as meaning that there is an influence of augmented reality-based digital booklets on the self-regulation of class IV students at SDN 2 Tanjungsari, Blitar City.

Abstract

Mastery of mathematics learning requires the ability to understand concepts to be able to achieve maximum mathematics learning achievement. This is proven through pretest questions with results that are still far from complete. The aim of classroom action research is to increase the understanding of mathematical concepts of fifth grade students at Muhammadiyah Nitikan Elementary School in spatial construction material using the inquiry based learning model. The subjects of this research were 30 students in class V of SD Muhammadiyah Nitikan for the 2023-2024 academic year, consisting of 17 male students and 13 female students. The data collection techniques used were tests, observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that the inquiry based learning model is successful in increasing students' understanding of mathematical concepts in spatial construction material. The learning outcomes during the pre-cycle, the average score obtained was 38 with an average percentage of completeness of 3% and an average percentage of incompleteness of 97%. After the first cycle of action, the results showed an average of 73 with an average percentage of completeness of 70% and the average percentage of not 30% complete, while in Action Cycle II the test results reached an average score of 91 with an average percentage of completeness of 83% and an average percentage of incompleteness of 17%.

The validation results illustrate that the augmented reality-based picture storybook media is very valid, with a percentage of 89.5% for media expert validation, 91% for material expert validation, and 90% for language expert validation. In the effectiveness test, the teacher's response showed a percentage of 100%, which means it was very effective. Meanwhile, the attractiveness test through student responses also showed a percentage of 100%, which is included in the very attractive category. The reliability of student responses was calculated using SPSS with a Cronbach alpha value of 0.773. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the augmented reality-based picture story book media developed is suitable for use as a learning medium to increase the desire for reading literacy in elementary school students. It is hoped that this media development will be able to provide positive assistance in efforts to improve the quality of learning and students' literacy skills.

Abstract

The lack of reading comprehension skills in grade II elementary school students is the impetus for this research because reading media has the potential to improve reading comprehension skills. Researchers developed digital picture storybooks as a tool to help students gain reading comprehension to overcome this problem. The purpose of this study is to provide details about the development of picture storybooks that researchers will make, including development design, validation results, and user responses. Design and Development (D&D) using the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE). The resulting product was assessed by 2 material experts, 2 media experts, and 22 student users. The material expert feasibility test received an overall average score of 86.5% with the criteria “very feasible”. Then the final results of the media expert feasibility test get an overall average score of 92.5% with the criteria “very feasible”. Based on the media trial, user responses were obtained which showed an overall average score of 94.75% with “very good” criteria for picture storybooks as a learning media for reading comprehension that had been developed. This research corroborates the finding that students tend to like digital media (electronic), gadgets, and connected to the internet.
