Abstract

This research aims to analyze the content validity of instruments used at schools. In this research, content validity is measured from three aspects, namely material, construct, and language/culture/ethics aspects. The method used in this research uses quantitative descriptive methods. Content validity was assessed by 8 validators by filling a questionnaire. The results obtained from the validator are then analyzed by calculating the Aiken's V index. The Aiken's V value is used to ensure that the instrument used meets the content validity criteria and is categorized as suitable for use as a measuring tool. Based on analysis using Aiken's V, the averages obtained for the material, construct, and language/culture/ethics aspects were respectively in the very high, very high, and high categories. And overall the content validity of the instruments used in schools has met good content validity standards in the very high category. However, determining the criteria for a good assessment instrument is not only content validity, but also construct validity, empirical or item validity, and reliability. So, to further ensure that the quality of the end-of-semester assessment instruments used in schools is categorized as fully adequate, further research can be carried out by future researchers.

Abstract

The reading comprehension ability of elementary school students in Indonesia is very low due to a lack of motivation in reading which will have a negative impact on students' academic and daily development. An effort to overcome this is by implementing an appropriate learning strategy, namely the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy which can improve students' reading comprehension skills. The method used in this research is a literature review with meta analysis techniques which aims to re-analyze articles regarding the implementation of the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy in elementary schools. The population of this research is relevant articles from journals indexed by Scopus and Google Scholar with a sample of 20 articles taken using purposive sampling techniques. The results of this research obtained Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 <0.05 and the t value exceeds t table (7.386 > 2.093), with the conclusion that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted which shows that the application of the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy has proven to be effective in improving students' reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to evaluate the feasibility, usefulness and efficacy of Teachmint-based learning resources in the Unimed PGSD Department of Educational Materials Management course using classroom management strategies. The ADDIE model—analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation—was used in this research and development project. In terms of product validity, the results of data revision and validation from media experts obtained a percentage of 84.35 in the very feasible category, while data validation findings from material experts obtained a percentage of 73.21% which was included in the feasible category. In terms of beauty, 91.60% of the results met the very attractive criteria. In terms of efficacy, students scored an average of 57.6 before the test and an average of 88.8 after the test. The results of the average value show that there are factors that influence the use of Teachmint-based learning resources.

Abstract

Students often find learning mathematics difficult in elementary school, especially regarding geometric concepts such as blocks and cube nets. Many students have difficulty understanding these ideas with just verbal explanations and static images. The use of learning media such as cardboard, origami, and thread can help students visualize and understand the web of cubes and blocks better. This media allows students to see and touch three-dimensional models, understand the transformation of two-dimensional shapes, and identify sides and angles more clearly. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of this media in increasing students' understanding, interest and learning motivation towards this material, as well as providing insight for educators about the importance of innovation in mathematics learning methods. Data was collected by searching and collecting data from various sources, including books, journals and contemporary research. The method is known as literature study. This research shows that the use of cardboard, origami and thread learning media in teaching cube and block nets in elementary schools provides positive results. The results show that students understand concepts better and are more actively involved in the learning process. Other advantages of using this media are increased creativity and fine motor skills, increased physical and interactive involvement of students, and the ability to visualize abstract concepts.
