Abstract

This experimental study explores how Generation Z and Y in Indonesia interact with Museum MACAN’s TikTok content, using eye-tracking to understand engagement with cultural content on this pivotal platform. Participants undertook tasks of varying lengths (120, 300, and 180 seconds) to reflect different engagement scenarios, with metrics like Participant Quality Grade (PQG), test duration, browser dimensions, K-factor, gaze, and fixation counts assessing interaction depth. Results indicate high engagement levels, with quality ranging from good to excellent and a noted preference for focal processing, suggesting users’ concentrated attention on video content. Heatmaps confirmed video content as the primary focus area. This study highlights TikTok’s role in enhancing museum engagement and provides insights for cultural institutions to refine their social media content strategies.

Abstract

A primary challenge associated with the implementation of educational support systems is the establishment of student trust in the systems themselves. Trust is a critical factor in the acceptance and use of AI-enabled systems, as it reduces uncertainty and the perception of risk associated with new technology adoption. A literature review of existing studies on trust in AI-based systems is needed to provide a solid foundation for future studies. This research aims to identify gaps in the literature regarding the establishment of user trust in AI-based educational systems by exploring the criteria of trust and the challenges of building trust in AI systems. A narrative review of the literature is conducted to synthesize the findings of selected articles, covering (1) fundamental principles of trust and the process of establishing trust in non-human entities; (2) technical issues relating to explainable AI; (3) the utilization of explainable AI to facilitate decision-making; and (4) the use of AI systems in facilitating educational activities and its influence. This article summarizes trust criteria, including reliance, transparency, affectiveness, integrity, consistency, fairness, accountability, security, and usability. Building trust in AI systems involves addressing technical, ethical, and societal challenges to ensure the responsible and beneficial use of AI for individuals and society.

Abstract

Low literacy rates in childhood are a concern for the Indonesian government. More community activities on social media are demanding the digitization of teaching materials. Access to teaching materials is one factor in increasing children's literacy. The Indonesian government is continuously enhancing educational facilities, including the development of the SIBI platform, also known as the Indonesian Bookkeeping Information System, which offers free access to digital books. A branding strategy is needed to campaign and attract public attention to access the SIBI platform and try reading books with digital media. This research was conducted to analyze the branding strategy using the AISAS model. This research employs qualitative methods by gathering data through literature studies, observations, and interviews. This study demonstrates that the SIBI branding strategy has been running in accordance with the AISAS model branding theory and can attract the attention of users who are growing.

Abstract

There has been an increasingly dominant use of technology in education institutions, yet limited studies holistically investigate the utilization of technological applications in tourism vocational high schools. This research explored the synchronous and asynchronous technological applications used and the challenges experienced by teachers and students of a tourism vocational high school in Indonesia, mainly in hotel and culinary online classrooms. This research employed a qualitative approach. Data were collected by observing four classes in two vocational schools in Yogyakarta and Bali. Interviews with five teachers and five students were also conducted on a voluntary basis. The findings indicate that teachers and students used various technological applications like Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Team, Cisco WebEx, Discord, and Skype for synchronous online learning. They also utilized more technological applications such as WhatsApp, YouTube, Google Classroom, Google Form, Telegram, Moodle, Screencast-O-Matic, Facebook, Instagram, Quizzes, Kahoot, and Twitterfor their asynchronous online learning. Both teachers and students faced technical, pedagogical, psychological, and personal challenges such as an unstable internet connection, a lack of technological literacy, incompatible gadgets, limited participation, work overload, demotivation, and a lack of focus on learning. To conclude, a number of technological applications were used to facilitate learning in hotel and culinary departments, even though there were many challenges that came with their usage. The results of this research can be used by relevant stakeholders preparing for future learning, especially in vocational high schools.

Abstract

Companies need to boost sales to draw in clients and influence their purchase decisions at a time when business rivalry is becoming fiercer. As technology develops, many businesses develop new ideas to boost sales through more effective digital marketing, such as viral and influencer marketing tactics. In addition, companies need to use technology strategically to modify their marketing campaigns based on the tastes and actions of their target audience. This study will ascertain how taste, influencers, and viral marketing affect consumer decisions. The people who shop at Roti Keset Condet are the population. An accidental sampling technique yielded a sample size of 250 individuals. With SmartPLS, data analysis employs a structural equation model. The study's findings demonstrate the importance of flavor and viral marketing in influencing consumers' buying decisions. Influencer marketing, however, has no bearing on consumer choices. Consumers who make purchases do so due to viral marketing that is executed, even though the influencer serving as the message's messenger is not the campaign's target. Aside from that, people continue to prioritize taste and image when they are making purchases.

Abstract

The study aims to address the gap in understanding the effectiveness of project-based learning (PjBL) in enhancing students' creativity and academic performance. Despite increasing interest in PjBL, there is a need to thoroughly examine its alignment with traditional instructional paradigms. The study uses a quasi-experimental method design, stratifying participants into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental arm undergoes a targeted PjBL approach, diverging from the control group, which adheres to conventional teaching methodologies. Over a 12-week duration, data is methodically amassed through pre- and post-tests, encapsulating both quantitative and qualitative metrics to evaluate student performance and ingenuity. Preliminary findings underscore a marked enhancement in both creative output and academic performance among students exposed to PjBL. Nonetheless, the study elucidates potential challenges, such as resource constraints and implementation hurdles, necessitating further elucidation. The study suggests that PjBL can enhance students' creative thinking and academic achievement by inducing innovation, problem-solving skills, and collaboration. Future research should explore its impact on student motivation, engagement, and academic success, as well as its adoption and scalability strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover factors that indicate employees' acceptability of wearable devices. The study utilizes the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). It expands on Davis's framework by including six extra variables to gain thorough insights: social influence, technological anxiety, trust, perceived risk, perceived physical condition, and resistance to change. After the literature review, a close-ended questionnaire is created to implement the research. Fourty one Ship-to-Shore (STS) crane operators at PT Terminal Teluk Lamong participated in a five-month survey using wearable devices for work. The model's components are analyzed using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis in a terminal crane operator environment. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to confirm the model. The research results show a strong connection between the independent and dependent variables, revealing the complex dynamics that impact the attitudes and intentions of high-risk workers. While other connections were not statistically significant, the study highlights the crucial influence of social characteristics on user attitudes toward technology adoption. This study expands TAM and provides practical guidance for introducing wearable devices to STS crane operators to improve technology acceptance in high-risk industries.
