Abstract

Education plays an important role in preparing students to face the challenges of the 21st century that demand critical, creative, and adaptive thinking skills. This study analyzes the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on creativity, learning motivation, and critical thinking skills of students in the Social Studies subject at the junior high school level. The method used is a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely the experimental group of 32 students who received project-based learning, and the control group of 33 students who learned through conventional methods. The instruments in the form of questionnaires and observations were analyzed using the Independent Sample T-Test to compare the results before and after treatment. The results showed that PjBL had a significant effect on increasing creativity, learning motivation, and critical thinking skills with a significance value of 0.000. This model is able to create contextual, collaborative learning experiences, and demands active student involvement in solving real problems.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in implementing gamification-based learning methods at Ibnu Katsir Elementary School in Berau. Gamification has emerged as an innovative solution to address the often-perceived theoretical and unengaging nature of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) for elementary school students. This descriptive qualitative research involved PAI teachers and students as participants, with data collected thru observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis included data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results indicate that PAI teachers developed a systematic planning strategy including content analysis, selection of gamification elements (blessed points, levels, badges, leaderboards, quests, instant feedback), learning scenario design, and preparation of manual media. Implementation is carried out thru tiered memorization games, worship simulations, noble character missions, and story adventures. The challenges faced include technological limitations, complex classroom management, balancing fun and learning, and differing student abilities, which are overcome thru creative adaptation and differentiated gamification. Gamification has proven effective in increasing students' motivation, cognitive understanding, affective character, and psychomotor skills. This research contributes to the development of a contextual gamification model for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in schools with limited resources.

Abstract

This study systematically reviews 25 empirical articles published between 2019 and 2025 to comprehensively examine the role of psychological and sociological factors in Arabic language learning among foreign speakers in Indonesia, particularly by elucidating the dynamics of language anxiety, learning motivation, and self-efficacy within the social context of learning. This study employs a systematic literature review following PRISMA guidelines, analyzing scientific articles obtained from the Scopus, DOAJ, SINTA, and Google Scholar databases. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns and correlations between psychological and sociological variables. The results of the study show that speaking anxiety emerges as a significant obstacle to communicative participation, while motivation and self-efficacy play a role in maintaining the sustainability of student learning engagement, which is greatly influenced by the quality of the learning environment, support from teachers and peers, and the dynamics of social interaction in the classroom. These findings indicate that students' psychological conditions do not develop individually but are shaped through continuous social learning experiences. Therefore, Arabic language learning should be understood as an integrated socio-affective process, guiding the development of pedagogical practices to create a learning environment that is psychologically safe, communicative, and responsive to students' needs, thereby supporting the development of sustainable language competence.

Abstract

Generation Z is a dominant demographic group in Indonesia with unique characteristics as a generation highly exposed to globalization and digital technology. The phenomenon of moral degradation experienced by this generation is characterized by a weakening of social ethical values, increasing individualism, and negative behaviors such as bullying and a lack of respect for social norms. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role as a bulwark in the formation of the religious and moral character of Generation Z. This article examines Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, including PAI teachers' strategies in fostering students' religious awareness through an adaptive and contextual in-depth learning approach. This study used a mixed method with a Concurrent Embedded design, namely a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches through observation, questionnaires, teacher interviews, and analysis of PAI curriculum documents in a high school in Bandung City. The results show that the PAI learning strategy based on in-depth learning improves deep religious understanding, learning motivation, and internalization of positive religious values. This growing religious awareness contributes to strengthening students' moral character, discipline, sense of responsibility, and tolerance. Major obstacles, such as the negative influence of social media and low interest in learning, can be overcome with innovative methods and collaborative support from teachers, parents, and the community. These findings indicate that developing Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning strategies that adapt to the psychosocial and cultural needs of Generation Z is crucial in addressing moral decline and preparing the nation's next generation with strong and religious characters.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct Maslow's motivation theory by integrating the values of the Qur'an in the context of human resource management (HR) in the era of Society 5.0. Maslow's theory, which has been the reference in understanding human work motivation, is considered to be secular and has not accommodated the spiritual dimension, especially in Muslim society. With a qualitative approach and the maudhu'i (thematic) interpretation method, this study traces the verses of the Qur'an that are relevant to Maslow's five hierarchies of needs: physiological, security, social, self-esteem, and self-actualization. The results of the study show that each level of need in Maslow's theory has a conceptual equivalent in the Qur'an, which enriches the dimensions of human motivation with divine values such as tazkiyah an-nafs, good deeds, and useful knowledge. This integration produces an "Islamic Hierarchy of Needs" model that is not only psychological and material, but also spiritual and transcendental. These findings have theoretical implications in the development of the concept of Islamic motivation and are applicable in HR management in educational institutions, government, and corporations. This model is considered relevant to answer the challenges of Society 5.0 which demands synergy between technology, humanitarian values, and spirituality.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers in integrating moral values and utilising digital media in ablution learning at SDIT Permata Bunda. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving Islamic Religious Education teachers and upper-grade students as research participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analysed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that IRE teachers play a highly strategic role in shaping students’ moral character through ablution learning, implemented through role modelling, habituation, reflective dialogue, and positive reinforcement. The use of digital media, such as animated videos, 3D simulations, and infographics, was found to enhance students’ technical understanding of ablution while strengthening the internalisation of moral values by presenting moral messages in an engaging and contextual manner. Digital media also encourages active student participation and aligns with the characteristics of the digital generation. Despite challenges related to limited digital devices and teachers’ digital literacy, adaptive strategies implemented by teachers ensured that the objectives of moral education were achieved. This study is limited to a single educational institution within a specific geographical context, and therefore the findings cannot be generalised broadly. Overall, ablution learning that integrates teacher role modelling and digital media utilisation plays a significant role in fostering students’ Islamic character holistically.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of school rules and regulations in developing students' disciplinary character at MTs Sholihiyyah Kalitengah, Mranggen, Demak, and to analyse the impact of these implementations. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and validated through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that school rules and regulations are consistently implemented through daily habituation activities such as morning assembly, religious practices, literacy programmers, and cleaning duties. Teachers’ exemplary behavior, structured supervision, and the application of educational sanctions play a significant role in internalising disciplinary values among students. The implementation of these rules positively affects students’ time discipline, neatness, manners, and academic as well as social responsibility. However, this study is limited to a single Islamic junior high school, and therefore the findings are not intended to be generalised to other educational contexts. Nevertheless, the results suggest that the continuous enforcement of school rules, supported by teachers’ role modelling and school-wide commitment, can serve as a practical framework for strengthening students’ disciplinary character in similar educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of multisensory integration through the Cross-Modal Sensory Integration model on the retention and learning motivation of elementary school students. The study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type and a non-equivalent control group design. The study subjects consisted of 54 elementary school grade V students who were divided into experimental groups and control groups. The experimental group obtained IPAS learning using the Cross-Modal Sensory Integration model, while the control group used conventional learning. Data were collected through learning retention tests and learning motivation questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the retention and motivation variables of learning with a significance value of p 0.05. Students who participated in learning with the Cross-Modal Sensory Integration model had higher long-term retention abilities and learning motivation than students who participated in conventional learning. These findings show that multisensory integration through the Cross-Modal Sensory Integration model is effectively applied in social studies learning to improve the quality of the learning process and outcomes of elementary school students.
