Abstract

Evaluation of Arabic language learning outcomes is commonly conducted using achievement standards; however, this approach does not always describe the distribution of students’ abilities within a learning group. This study aims to analyze Arabic learning outcomes based on the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) and to identify students’ ability distribution through Norm-Referenced Scoring (PAN). This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive evaluative design. The data consisted of Arabic final semester assessment scores of eighth-grade students at MTs Mambaus Sholihin, which were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results indicate mean score 62.73 with a standard deviation of 18.81. It can be concluded that students’ achievement based on KKM shows that some learners have reached the expected competency standard, while others require further instructional support. Furthermore, PAN analysis reveals variations in students’ abilities, with the majority of students positioned in the medium category. These findings indicate that KKM provides information regarding competency achievement, whereas PAN offers a broader interpretation of students’ relative positions within the learning group. The integration of both approaches provides a more comprehensive evaluation framework for Arabic language learning. This study contributes to the development of data-based evaluation practices for determining remedial and enrichment programs.

Abstract

Advances in information technology and the advent of the era of information disruption have brought about major changes in the communication patterns between educational institutions and the public. These conditions call for public relations management that is not only adaptive to developments in digital media but also remains grounded in Islamic values. This study aims to examine the implementation of public relations management based on the values of the Qur’an and Hadith at Madin Ainul Yaqin UNISMA in building effective communication amid the challenges of the digital era. The study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that public relations management at Madin Ainul Yaqin UNISMA is carried out through the functions of planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating communication based on the principles of amanah, shiddiq, tabligh, and fathanah. These Qur’anic values are applied in various communication activities, including publications via digital media, the transparent dissemination of information to the public, and the management of relationships with students’ guardians and stakeholders. The application of Islamic communication ethics has proven effective in strengthening public trust while helping the institution address communication challenges in the digital age without neglecting the principles of Sharia. Thus, it can be concluded that public relations management based on the Qur’an and Hadith serves as an effective, professional, and relevant communication model in the face of developments in information technology.

Abstract

The decline in moral integrity and the degradation of the strategic role of the family are crucial challenges in the development of the nation's character today. This research aims to formulate a conceptual framework for educational design at the family level through the synthesis of various pedagogical, philosophical, and spiritual perspectives. The method used is qualitative research with the type of library research, which critically analyzes the literature on the concept of the Tricenter of Education, family education from an Islamic perspective, and the synergy of the educational environment. The results of the study succeeded in constructing three main pillars in the design of family education: 1) Redefinition of the role of parents as guides (pamong), basic teachers, and main role models (uswah); 2) Integration of value dimensions that include spiritual (aqidah), moral (moral), and socio-emotional aspects holistically; and 3) Authoritative parenting methodologies that prioritize open dialogue, emotional warmth, and creative stimulation without the use of physical punishment. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that the effectiveness of character education at the family level is highly dependent on the consistency of moral messages and strong synergy between families, schools, and society to mitigate the risk of confusion of values in children. This conceptual framework positions the family as the main axis in creating a generation with integrity and high morals.

Abstract

This study aims to identify, classify, and analyze collocational patterns in Surah Yusuf and to examine their semantic roles. The method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach using manual concordance analysis, in which data were extracted through close, word by word reading of the Arabic Qur'anic Text of Surah Yusuf. Identified collocations were verified using the Quranic Arabic Corpus to confirm their morphological and syntactic structure, and cross checked against Arabic collocation dictionaries to ensure linguistic validity. Data were analyzed based on collocation types (grammatical and lexical) and the semantic patterns of the accompanying prepositions. The findings reveal 36 collocational patterns, dominated by grammatical verb collocations (26 patterns), particularly those using fiʿl māḍī (past tense verbs). Prepositions such as عَنْ (for avoidance), إِلَى (for direction), and عَلَى (for authority) form consistent semantic constructions that enhance narrative nuances. In-depth analysis of key collocations, such as رَاوَدَ عَنْ and صَبْرٌ جَمِيْلٌ, shows that collocational choices do not merely serve descriptive functions but actively shape character development, dramatic tension, and core theological concepts. The study concludes that collocational analysis is an essential tool for uncovering complex layers of meaning in the Qur'an. These findings make a significant contribution to Qur'anic linguistics and exegesis by offering a systematic and replicable model for analyzing other surahs. The research also has practical implications for translation, the development of Arabic language learning materials, and digital humanities.

Abstract

Independence is a fundamental developmental competency in early childhood because it enables children to regulate their behavior, emotions, and attention while engaging in learning activities and everyday tasks. Nevertheless, many kindergarten children continue to rely heavily on teachers when making decisions, solving problems, and completing assigned activities. Constructive play has been recognized as a play-based learning approach that encourages children to explore, make decisions, and solve problems independently. This study aimed to analyze children's independence as demonstrated during constructive play activities at Mekar Sari Jambe State Kindergarten by focusing on three dimensions of self-regulation: behavioral control, emotional control, and attentional control. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while source and technique triangulation were applied to ensure trustworthiness. The findings revealed that constructive play provided meaningful opportunities for children to independently plan activities, make decisions, regulate their emotions when encountering difficulties, and sustain attention until completing assigned tasks. Children demonstrated improved behavioral control by following classroom rules and taking responsibility for their work, emotional control by persisting despite failure, and attentional control by maintaining concentration throughout the learning process. These findings suggest that constructive play functions not only as a medium for cognitive development but also as an effective pedagogical strategy for fostering children's independence through the development of self-regulation. The study contributes empirical evidence supporting the integration of constructive play into early childhood classrooms to promote independent learning and school readiness.

Abstract

Religious culture constitutes an essential component in forming students’ moral dispositions, especially in vocational institutions that predominantly emphasize technical competencies. Amid the pressures of globalization and evolving socio-cultural dynamics, this research examines the transformation of religious culture as a strategic effort to strengthen the establishment of a child-friendly vocational school environment at SMKS Muhammadiyah 2 Genteng. The study aims to identify the mechanisms through which religious values are incorporated into the institutional culture through structured planning, systematic implementation, and continuous evaluation. Applying a qualitative descriptive design with a phenomenological orientation, the data were gathered via interviews, observations, and document analysis, and processed through Miles and Huberman’s interactive analytical framework. The results indicate that the planning stage encompassed the reinforcement of the school’s religious mission, the formulation of program designs by ISMUBA teachers, and the dissemination of value-based commitments through institutional meetings. The implementation phase adhered to Kurt Lewin’s change model, starting with the disengagement from outdated practices, followed by the introduction of religious programs—such as Qur’an recitation, One Week One Hadith, congregational prayers, and Baitul Arqam—and culminating with the stabilization of these practices as habitual routines. The evaluation process concentrated on the consistency of program execution, the extent of stakeholder participation, and the formulation of measures to ensure long-term sustainability. The study concludes that transforming religious culture significantly contributes to establishing a child-friendly vocational school atmosphere by cultivating ethical and spiritual values in parallel with technical skill development.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop an English learning design that integrates Flipped Learning and Think Talk Write (TTW) for Madrasah Aliyah students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). In the Define stage, needs analysis was conducted through student questionnaires and teacher interviews involving 40 students and 3 English teachers across MAN 3 Madina and MAN 1 Madina. The Design stage produced a draft integrating Flipped Learning and TTW with digital and print-based media adapted for schools with limited smartphone access. In the Develop stage, the draft was validated by two expert validators—a media expert from Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED) and an instructional design expert from STBA PIA Medan—yielding an average validation score of 4.5 to 5, categorized as highly valid and feasible. During the Disseminate stage, the finalized design was implemented in classroom settings and evaluated through student questionnaires and teacher interviews regarding its strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, followed by a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with 35 participants. This study does not measure learning outcomes; instead, it focuses on developing and validating a feasible instructional design. The novelty of this research lies in integrating Flipped Learning and TTW with a hybrid digital-print media approach adapted for Islamic senior high schools with restrictive device policies, offering both theoretical and practical contributions to English language teaching improvement.

Abstract

Arabic speaking proficiency (maharah al-kalam) is a crucial competency that remains difficult for Indonesian students to master, primarily due to high levels of language anxiety and a lack of active speaking practice. This study investigates the effectiveness of the Total Physical Response (TPR) method in improving the speaking skills of seventh-grade students at Madrasah Muhammadiyah 6 Ulil Albab Pakah, Ngawi (an Islamic junior high school in Indonesia). The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pre-test-post-test control group, involving 31 students (17 in the experimental group and 14 in the control group) over eight weeks. Quantitative data were collected through oral speaking tests and Likert-scale questionnaires to measure vocabulary mastery, learning motivation, and speaking anxiety levels. Qualitative data were obtained from field observations and semi-structured interviews. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in vocabulary mastery by 24.24 points (t(16) = 6.234, p < 0.001), learning motivation by 27.65 points (t(16) = 7.458, p < 0.001), and a reduction in speaking anxiety by 26.24 points (t(16) = -7.124, p < 0.001). The normalized gain (N-gain) indicated that TPR achieved an effectiveness of 57.28% for vocabulary mastery, categorized as "Moderately Effective," far surpassing the control group's gain of only 23.52%. Qualitative data revealed positive behavioral changes in students, including increased self-confidence, reduced fear, and higher intrinsic motivation. These findings prove that the TPR method is significantly more effective in developing Arabic speaking skills compared to traditional teaching methods, with a measurable impact on the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of student learning.
