Abstract

Abstract

The ability to manage learning is a competency that must be possessed by a teacher, including geography teachers. Not only pedagogically, a geography teacher is expected to be able to convey geography learning contextually. To improve the capability of geography teachers during learning, it is necessary to increase the ability to master the materials by deepening advanced materials. This study was conducted to determine perceptions of mastery of advance materials for geography learning conducted to 142 geography teachers as respondents. This study is important given the lack of literature on the perception of geography teachers in mastering advanced materials. Based on the research results, the teacher conceptually understands what is meant by advance materials. This understanding can be seen at least from the teacher's ability to differentiate between advance materials and essential materials as well as teacher competence in sorting materials based on the depth of the materials.

Abstract

The existence of rivers is very important in the life of the ecosystem on earth, where in the hydrological conditions the river is one of the important places for the flow of water on earth which will be discharged into the sea. However, the current condition of the river is very worrying, because the river is used as a place for waste disposal, both industrial and household waste. In Nangewer Village, Pagerageung District, Tasikmalaya Regency, a group of housewives who are members of the Srikandi Sungai Indonesia group took the initiative to improve the sustainability of the river. The group of housewives plays a role in river conservation efforts such as cleaning the river, arranging rivers, and maintaining the for the better quality of river water. The aims of this research are to carry out the role and efforts of housewives in preserving the Cipatani river. Based on the results, there are a group of housewives, they made efforts in the form of river conservation, including periodic cleaning of the river, planting plants / trees along the river to reduce soil erosion and sedimentation, organize, and tidy up the river so that it becomes more beautiful.

Abstract

Vertical accuracy in DEM (Digital Elevation Model) products is very important for an earth study. There are medium resolution DEM data products that can be accessed freely such as DEMNAS, Alos Palsar 12.5m and Sentinel-1. The aim of this study is to measure the vertical accuracy of the DEMNAS, Alos Palsar 12.5m and Sentinel-1 data products by considering the slope angle classification and using two different GIS software. Vertical accuracy is measured using 848 spotheight points, by calculating the RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) value of each DEM product with different software. Based on the research, it was found that DEMNAS is a DEM product that has the best comparability value than Alos Palsar and Sentinel-1, because it has the smallest RMSE value. Slope angle class gives different values of bias against absorption and reflection of electro magnetic waves. Flat to moderate steep slope angles tend to be better at absorbing and reflecting electromagnetic waves. The spotheight point needs to be reaccurated with a more detailed geodetic point, to get maximum results.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Vegetation cover plays an important role in controlling the view, boundaries, air temperature, living place and aesthetics in an area. Vegetation cover changes can be caused by changes in temperature, rainfall and human activities. Google Earth Engine (GEE) provides machine learning algorithms such as NDVI which are very useful in extracting vegetation density levels from imagery. The purpose of this study was to analyze vegetation cover changes by human activities in relation to the geomorphological form of Kendari City. The imagery used in multi-temporal monitoring are Landsat-7 ETM in 2000, Landsat-5 TM in 2005 and 2010 and Landsat 8 OLI in 2015 and 2020. Input machine learning using near infrared (NIR) and red (Red) for the NDVI Algorithm while the geomorphological form uses SRTM imagery. The classification of vegetation cover consists of water bodies, open field, built areas and roads covered with asphalt, paving or soil, plantations/agriculture, bushes, grass, reeds, green open space and forests. Each sub-district experienced a decrease in vegetation cover in the form of plantations/agriculture, bushes, grass, reeds, green open space except for the West Kendari District which tended to be varied. The forest area is getting better every year. The existence of protected forests and geomorphological forms such as lowlands are the driving factors for changes in vegetation cover, while low hills and high hills are flat to steep are contrainst factors. Machine learning in GEE is very helpful in monitoring vegetation cover changes and has an NDVI algorithm that is quite easy to apply.

Abstract

Coastal flood in Indonesia, namely as banjir rob, is a phenomenon that increases seawater to inundate around the tidal area. In Tanjungpinang, cases of coastal floods become a serious problem for people living in this area. This research aims to model the coastal flood inundation by modeling water inundation with a maximum level increase scenario. Its model was used to estimate coastal floods' impact on houses, buildings, and infrastructures with scenario 2 meters of sea-level rise.  On the other hand, the budget loss for restoration was estimated to study the effort of community adaptations with the ECLAC RAB method and observation to understand community adaptation. It was found that the spatial model succeeded in zoning inundation areas, which had a significant impact on houses, buildings, worship places, schools, and industrial at many 4112 units. From this case, the budget loss for the restoration of the physical environment was estimated at around 61994014.75 USD. In addition, the survey revealed the existing condition before and after the coastal flood. Several community efforts for adaptation were developing houses on stilt and hoarding the lowest land on-site location for build houses.
