Abstract

About 10 million children die and more than 200 million children develop not according to their potential triggered by parental care and stimulation. It’s estimated that about 1-5% of children under 5 years of age experience generalized developmental delays. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parenting and stimulation to the development of toddlers aged 1-3 years in the working area of Koto Panjang Ikua Koto Public Health Center Padang City.  This type of research is quantitative with a Cross Sectional design, carried out in the Working Area of the Koto Panjang Ikua Koto Health Center, Padang City from September 2021 to October 2022. The sample from the study was mothers with toddlers aged 1-3 years as many as 76 people. The technique used is multistage random sampling, for data collection using the KPSP, PSQ, and Stimulation questionnaires. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using Chi-Square analysis (p<0.05). The results showed that 94.7% of children spent 24 hours with their parents, 51.3% of children had normal development, 80.3% of parents provided good stimulation and 63.2% of parents with democratic parenting styles. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between parenting style and the development of children aged 1-3 years (p=0.000) and there was a relationship between stimulation and the development of children aged 1-3 years (p=0.000). Parenting parents who are democratic and good stimulation affect the optimal development of toddlers. It is hoped that the government can make policies related to parenting classes so that parents can provide good parenting and stimulation for children's growth and development.

Abstract

Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is a common disease that affects the community, particularly children and infants. Acute respiratory infections (ARI) that occur in children and infants are very dangerous because they can interfere with eating and sometimes lead to more serious lower respiratory tract infections if not treated properly. Acupressure and common cold massage are non-pharmacological methods of cough and cold treatment. A preliminary study was conducted in the working area of the Balapulang Health Center on September 7, 2021, and a total of 200 babies were obtained. Knowing the effectiveness of acupressure and common cold massage on the duration of cough and cold healing at the Balapulang Public Health Center. A quasi-experimental design with a two group posttest design with a sample size of 20 babies. There is a difference in the effectiveness of acupressure and common cold massage on the duration of cough and cold healing, as indicated by the mean rank values of the acupressure group of 14.05 and the common cold massage group of 6.95. Abstract

The absolute estimate for non-exclusive breastfed babies in West Java Province is 384,270 babies. The success of exclusive breastfeeding cannot be separated from the support of the people around him. This support needs to be built with training for the community to promote the importance of exclusive breastfeeding. The research design is a mixed method, namely qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative research with in-depth interviews and quasi-experimental quantitative research with a one group pre-test post test design by providing a form of intervention, namely training. The population is entirely female in Bogor City. Samples were taken in qualitative research using a snowball technique until the results were saturated, quantitative research consisted of two groups: Ordinary and Extraordinary  mothers in the City of Bogor. The research sample was 5 people using qualitative methods and 35 people using quantitative methods. The qualitative method statistical test uses content analysis, the quantitative method uses Wilcoxon test analysis. As a result of in-depth interviews, it was found that the materials needed to make a pocket book as an educational training medium were breastfeeding techniques, communication techniques and knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. The results of quantitative research show that there is a significant relationship between training with a p value of less than 0.05 on knowledge in the elderly group, attitudes in the cadre group, and meaningful motivation skills in all groups, namely cadre groups, community leaders, elderly people, ordinary women. Training/education using pocket books is able to increase abilities as a motivator for exclusive breastfeeding in the city of Bogor. There is a need to follow up on the use of pocket books and encourage mothers who have been trained to become exclusive breastfeeding motivators to be able to motivate pregnant women to successfully breastfeed exclusively.

Abstract

Indonesia's humid and hot climate makes the body sweat excessively so that the pH of the vagina increases and facilitates the growth of bacteria in the vagina. So it takes enough knowledge for students to be able to care for the vagina to avoid reproductive health problems. Health information on vulva hygiene in boarding schools is very rare.  Improving students' knowledge can be done by providing health education using educational game media. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of health education with card game media on the level of knowledge of vulva hygiene in students. This research was conducted at Askhabul Kahfi Islamic Boarding School from March until May 2021. This research included a pre-experimental design using one group pretest and posttest. The sample in this research was a grade IX junior high school student aged 14-16 years old (57 students). Sampling techniques used purposive sampling technique and data analysis used Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the research that the average score of knowledge of the students before and after giving health education using card game media is 60.61 and 81.58. There was an average increase of before and after giving health education  20.97. The results of this research indicated that there was an influence between health education about vulva hygiene and card games on the knowledge level of students at the Askhabul Kahfi Islamic Boarding School with the Asymp.Sig value of 0.000 <0.05. The benefit of this research for students of Askhabul Kahfi Islamic Boarding School will understand the material, will not underestimate the importance of vulva hygiene, and will do proper vulva hygiene after getting health education given by the researcher through card games.

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is 24.4%, which is higher than the WHO average of 20%. One of the efforts that can be made to reduce stunting rates is the early detection of stunting in infants. An interactive e-booklet media called Busita was developed to provide practical early detection tools. The aim was to develop an interactive electronic booklet that provides content from the Busita module. The research method used in this study was Research and Development (R&D). Validity testing was conducted using a group of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), determined by the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI), and the USE Questionnaire for the media validated by five experts. The Busita module contains all essential materials inside, as proven by CVR and CVI values between 0 and 1, with an average of 0.8, which can be interpreted as very good and important. The interactive e-booklet Busita media obtained a feasibility assessment through expert validation with an average score of 84.09, covering four aspects of assessment: usefulness, ease of use, ease of learning, and satisfaction. This research also involved five cadres in a pilot study, and the results of the dependent t-test showed a p-value of <0.05. The module and the media have been shown to measure knowledge, attitude, and practice in the early detection of infant stunting.

Abstract

Nearly 95% of all maternal deaths occurred in low and lower-middle-class countries in 2020, and most were preventable. The direct causes of maternal death were 33.07% of hypertension disorders, 27.03% of obstetric bleeding, 15.7% of non-obstetric complications, 12.04% of other obstetric complications, 6.06% of infections in pregnancy, and 4.81% of other causes. This study aimed to explore the effect of reflexology on blood pressure in pregnant mothers with hypertension. A quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized pretest-posttest design was carried out in this study. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the systolic blood pressure of hypertensive pregnant women before (147.30 ± 16,458) and after (130.55 ± 14,095) given reflexology massage therapy (p-value = 0.0001 (α < 0.05); with a difference in pressure reduction up to 16.75 mmHg). In line with systolic blood pressure, Table 3 also shows that there is a statistically significant difference in the diastolic blood pressure of hypertensive pregnant women before (90.75 ± 8.571) and after (82.05 ± 8.912) given reflexology massage therapy (p-value = 0.001 (α < 0.05); with a difference in pressure drop of up to 8.7 mmHg). Reflexology massage can be used as an alternative solution to lower blood pressure in pregnant women with hypertension. However, further research needs to be done on how reflexology massage can be applied properly to pregnant women to determine its impact on the mother and unborn baby.
