Lip prints are wrinkle patterns and grooves on the mucosal surface of the lips. Just like fingerprints, every individual in this world has their own unique lip prints patterns. According to the previous studies, the parents of cleft lip and palate (CL/CP) patients have certain lip print patterns. As a result, the lip print pattern can provide information on the inheritance of CL/CP. This review aims to explore the potential of lip print patterns as a means of identification in the inheritance of cleft lip and palate. The online literature search in the PubMed database, Science Direct, and Google Scholar was conducted with a combination of the following keywords: “lip prints”, “cleft lip/palate suffer”, “lip print classification”, and “cleft lip/palate prints”. In addition to online literature searches, reference lists from all the included articles were manually examined for further full-text studies. This review included research and review articles published during the last 10 years period (2012-2022). The result showed that there were 7 articles that met the inclusion criteria. In conclusion, various studies explained that the lip prints pattern type II and whorl/O are the most observed in the inheritance of CL/CP.

ABSTRACTThe most common dental and oral health problems are dental caries and periodontal disease caused by dental plaque. Dental plaque is a soft deposit consisting of microorganisms found on a matrix that is formed and adheres tightly to the tooth surface. Bacteria in plaque will metabolize food waste, especially the type that can be fermented so that it will produce acid. The acid produced will lower the plaque pH to 4.5-5.0 wthin 1-3 minutes and return to normal at pH 7 within 30-60 minutes. Plaque buildup on the tooth surfaces is related to plaque pH salivary pH. The continuous decrease in plaque pH and salivary pH will cause demineralization. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of gargling betel nut extract (Areca catechu L) 2.5% on plaque pH and salivary pH.The study was a quasi-experiment research with two group pretest-posttest design. The sample used in this study were 16 samples, 6th graders at SDN Pontianak Utara using the Total Sampling method. The sample was instructed to rinse with a 2.5 % betel nut extract moutwash solution and measure the plaque pH and salivary pH before and after gargling. The control group rinsed with 1% povidone iodine (Betadine Moutwash). Data analysis using the tes Wilcoxon to find out the difference between the influence variables and the affected variables. The results of this study based on the test were Wilcoxon test, the results showed that the average plaque pH before and after gargling with betel nut extract was 2.5% 7.06 and 7.22 p-value = 0.000 (p 0.05). The average pH of saliva before and after gargling a 2.5% betel nut extract solution was 6.56 and 5.59 p-value = 0.000 (p 0.05). So it can be concluded that gargling 2.5% betel nut extract solution has an effect on changes plaque pH and salivary pH.

Problem statement:. This tooth brushing technique consists of several methods that can be used. Its success also depends on the brushing method used. Tooth brushing methods include Bass, Stillman, Fones, Horizontal, Vertical, Roll, and Combination. The behavior of brushing teeth in Jambi Province is 96.4% who brush their teeth every day and 0.69% when brushing their teeth properly. Objectives: 1) To find out the average plaque score for elementary school students who brush their teeth using the horizontal method and the combination method as measured by PHP-M. 2) Knowing the difference between horizontal brushing and the combination method on plaque scores in elementary school students in Jambi City.Method: The method used in this research is to use the waterfall method. The data will be analyzed analytically (bivariate). After getting the data, then the data is tested for normality, when the data is declared more than 0.05 then the Independent T Test is used, which is a type of parametric test to find out whether there is a difference from the estimated value with the value of the statistical calculation.Scientific finding results, and a short conclusion : The obtained significance is 0.000 less than the significant level (α) = 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference between the average plaque scores after the combination method group treatment with the horizontal method. In table t obtained t count -6.119, which means that the average plaque score after the combination method group treatment is lower than the horizontal group.

Dental anxiety is a state of concern that something terrible will happen in connection with dental care or certain aspects of dental care. The level of dental anxiety was most commonly found in children (20, 48%). Therefore, an alternative to overcome this problem is to use a virtual reality box. This tool is designed to evoke a 3-dimensional atmosphere so that the user seems to be able to see in real. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the virtual reality box on the child's anxiety level at the time of primary tooth extraction. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a case-control design. With research subjects selected through Non-Probability Sampling with Purposive Sampling technique. With a total sample of 58 people consisting of children in the age category 6-12 years. Data were analyzed bivariately using Independent T Test. After the entire series of activities is carried out, then the distribution data results show a significance value lower than the probability value, which is 0.000 0.05. This shows that there is an effect of using a virtual reality box on the level of anxiety in children who have their primary teeth extracted.
