Abstract

Hygiene and product safety were the main issue that need to be assured by food industries, including amplang industries in Samarinda. Furthermore, workers safety was also important for improving small industries’ productivity. This paper aimed to evaluate application of Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP) and Work Improvements in Small Medium Entreprise (WISE) in two small industries that produce amplang. GMP is a system that ensures products are consistently produced and controlled according to set quality standards. (i.e., BPOM standard). WISE is a programme to assist micro, small and medium-sized enterprises improve working conditions and productivity using simple, effective and affordable techniques. The GMP study showed that SME Y had GMP value higher than SME X (i68% and 55%). These two SMEs have used clean water to produce amplang and store raw materials, end products and hazardous materials properly. The drawbacks of these two SMEs are the need to improve recording and documentation as well as make SOPs for product withdrawals from the market. UKM X needs to make SOPs for the cleanliness of the production area and improve product labels. The results of the WISE study of these two SMEs have not provided appropriate PPE for workers and have not promoted occupational health. Procedure for mitigating fire hazard had not developed although fire was one of the risk factors in these two SMEs. Evacuation path had not been provided and even, SME X had not provided the fire extinguishers. Furthermore, ergonomic work station obliged to design especially for workers who sit cross-legged, designing cross-legged chair with back rest.

Abstract

Selection of Third Party Logistics (3PL) services is an important focus of attention for companies in selecting suppliers in their supply chain. The wide marketing area of PT PETRONAS's lubricant products demands 3PL performance to increase the company's service level. The purpose of this study is to analyze the decision-making process in the context of selecting 3PL transportation suppliers using the TOPSIS and PROMETHE multi-criteria methods. The type of data used consists of primary data and secondary data through library research, interviews, and field surveys. The process of selecting a transportation 3PL is carried out in two stages, namely selection of criteria and the commercial aspect of the bidding price per region is evaluated as the basis for selecting the best supplier. The selected suppliers are PT Wira Logitama Saksama, PT Glory sogotrans Mandiri, PT Iron Bird Logistik, PT Sumisho Global Logistik, and PT Dunia Express Transindo. Based on the results of the analysis using the PROMETHEE method, five criteria with the highest weight were produced, namely Price, Time Delivery, Health Safety Management, Infrastructure and Office Equipment. The results of the ranking using the TOPSIS method for shipping to each destination are that PT Wira Logitama Semesta is the best supplier for five shipping destinations, namely Jabodetabek, Bandung, Surabaya, Lampung and Medan and PT Iron Bird Logistik is the best supplier for shipping to Cilegon and Semarang.

Abstract

Industrial competition in the era of increasingly fierce globalization forces the industry to struggle to maintain competition. In order to be able to compete in the modern industrial era, not only in terms of the products that will be sold in the market in a short estimated time, but also in terms of all aspects of the industry in it. In this research, the problem that arises is the production process that has not been effective and efficient so that it affects the production time, which is slightly hampered, causing consumer demand not to be fulfilled at CV. Bewrsama's Noble Grace. This study aims to determine the ineffective movements performed by the operator when doing work. Calculating the standard work process time using the Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) method, to calculate the resulting standard output. Reduction in ineffective processes with 5S work methods. Research was conducted in several divisions starting from the process of receiving milk, processing, milling, and packaging by comparing the effects of MOST between before and after the implementation of 5S. The results obtained are that there are several ineffective movements such as searching, selecting and inspecting which can be reduced by implementing 5S. There was a decrease in the receiving division by 4.7%, processing 0.67%, milling 4.2% and packaging 14.17%. The resulting raw output increased by 4.96% in the packaging division, 2.04% in the processing division, 6.02% in the milling division, and 15.2% in the packaging division.

Abstract

The challenges for manufacturing companies are currently getting bigger, now they are not only facing competition but companies are required to be able to survive the pandemic situation that has occurred throughout the world, including Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to minimize the number of rejects and increase the sigma value of 1 Kg cans of paint in accordance with the Straight Pass Ratio Increase (SPRI) standard of 99.3% with an acceptable percentage of 0.7% Reject. The actual condition of the reject percentage of 1kg paint cans is 6.4%, this is still far from the SPRI standard. Therefore, this research will make improvements, using the Lean Six Sigma concept using the DMAIC method in the repair process stage. The results of the study, obtained 5 types of reject that occur in the production process. In this process there are 4 factors that cause rejects, namely human factors, machines, methods and materials. The sigma value before repair was 3.7 and the cumulative process capability value was 0.062, this is still far from the specification limits that consumers expect. The improvements that have been made in this research are: implementing 5S on the production floor, 5S training and dissemination of SOPs for workers and implementing 5S as a standard operating procedure. After implementing the improvements, there was a decrease in rejects of 88.6%, an increase in the sigma value of 4.5 with a reject percentage of 0.69%. These results have reached the SPRI standards set by the company

Abstract

The activity of the automotive manufacturing industry continues to increase. The selection of electric forklift battery suppliers needs to be done because they are environmentally friendly and do not produce air pollution. Supplier selection is very important in determining the speed of delivery and the quality of raw materials to be able to meet consumer demands quickly and with quality. The purpose of this research is to select the best battery supplier and in accordance with the company's qualifications. The method used in completing this research is the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Others Reference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) in assisting decision-making. The AHP method is used to determine the most dominant criterion with a pairwise comparison matrix to determine the weight. Then the weight value is used as input in the calculation of the TOPSIS method to determine the ranking. The contribution of this research can be applied in the automotive manufacturing industry in selecting electric forklift battery suppliers. Based on the calculation results, it is known that the price criterion is the most dominant criterion with a weight of 0.463. Price is a parameter that is often used by every company. In addition to price criteria, there are also important criteria, including service life 0.270, quality 0.144, service 0.079, and flexibility 0.044. Based on TOPSIS calculations, it is known that the Rocket supplier is ranked 1st and is a priority to become a supplier in the selection of forklift batteries in the automotive manufacturing industry.

Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has created many new habits, rapid changes in information have made the need for the use of computers and electronic devices important for society and entrepreneurs. PT. RSS is engaged in the procurement of goods, maintenance, telecommunication services and event management. When workers carry out the maintenance process by cleaning hardware devices, non-ergonomic work positions are identified. This working position results in complaints of pain in the worker's body which results in a reduced number of hardware products being cleaned. Complaints experienced by workers can cause long-term illness and Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). This research was conducted to help workers/technicians when cleaning hardware is more ergonomic. Data collection was carried out by observing the body position of 5 workers while cleaning the hardware. This research begins by identifying problems using the NBM method. Then analyze worker posture using RULA and Anthropometry. The results of the analysis of this study are that work aids are needed so that workers are more ergonomic. The tools needed are to design and make an ergonomic workbench according to the dimensions of the worker's body. The table measures 167.2 cm long, 104.2 cm high and 73.4 cm wide. Evaluation of the results showed complaints of pain in the workers' bodies decreased. Complaints of workers' bodies before using the workbench have a value of 7 or the "Very High" category then drop to 4 or the "Moderate" category using the RULA assessment.

Abstract

Most of the technology from universities (PT) related to technological innovation often fails to enter the market. This problem then becomes the basis and object of improvement in technology-based entrepreneurial practices (technopreneurs). Learning is carried out through Independence Learning Campus Independence (MBKM) which converts courses according to training subjects in collaboration with PUI UNS and BPPT. This practice is a model of participatory and collaborative learning, in which students are directly involved in solving existing case studies and act as perpetrators of technology commercialization and become technopreneurs. Students are initially given training materials in accordance with the curriculum and direct learning from existing tenants. As a result, through this learning process, students can design business process proposals that exist in tenants. The success of this learning method was assessed based on technopreneur analysis from students in answering problems faced by tenants based on aspects of product technology innovation, product development, business development, and its implementation at BMC. One of the tenants who is the object of the case study in this study is the start-up PT. EKM who have problems with the commercialization of technology in the case of konverter kit products.

Abstract

The increase in customer demand for water tanks has resulted in companies having problems meeting all requests. This is mainly due to the high machine breakdown time, especially on Line 3 No 28 printing press. The company strives to fulfill all customer requests by maximizing the potential of its resources. This research aims to identify the causal factors of the high breakdown time of Line 3 No 28 printing press and to recommend an increase in the effectiveness of Line 3 No 28 Printing machines using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method. The stages carried out in this study were through field observations, collecting data from the company's ERP and Jasper software systems, analysis, and recommendations the improvement. Data collection through interviews was carried out by direct interviews with relevant expert respondents using a fishbone diagram and FMEA methods. The main cause of the long breakdown time is the delay in the material powder entering the production area from the weighing area and the thin printing of the tank. The advice given is that the company implements OEE calculations every day so that the effectiveness of each machine can be monitored, the company increases the awareness of autonomous maintenance for everyone who works for the company and controls the improvements that have been recommended.

Abstract

CV Tirta Alam Dodu is a privately owned company engaged in the beverage industry in the form of AMDK. The problem faced by the company is that there is a difference between demand and sales, or better known as the bullwhip effect problem. The purpose of this study is to reduce the bullwhip effect on the supply chain and optimize the amount of product inventory according to the amount of demand. The method used is the Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) method. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the analysis of demand forecasting calculations on AMDK products at CV Tirta Alam Dodu was carried out using historical data on product demand through five analytical methods, including Linear Trend, Moving Average, Exponential Smoothing, Decomposition, and Winter's Model. The best forecasting resulted in Winter's Model which showed the smallest error value compared to the other four models. The way to minimize so that it does not become a bullwhip effect is to use the CPFR method, where the bullwhip effect value is obtained on glass mineral water products and gallons of mineral water of 0,985 and 0,898, respectively. This result shows that there is no amplification of demand and has reached the company's target, which is to fall below number one. The way to optimize inventory so that there is no excess stock or shortage of stock in the product is to make the amount of inventory based on the amount of demand from the forecasting results plus the safety stock.

Abstract

Nowadays, competition among manufaktur industries is increasing rapidly. This competition causes similar industries to compete, including the automotive component industry. To win the competition, the automotive component manufaktur industry must carry out various repair methods. Improvements made include managing inventory, scheduling, delivery, quality management and eliminating waste. Based on observations, problems that often occur in the automotive component manufaktur industry are not achieving production output and unbalanced production lines so that problems such as waste and bootleneck arise. The purpose of this research is to design a model on the production line to increase production output and balance the production line. The method used to analyze and solve this problem is to design a conceptual model of Theory of Constraints (ToC). This method interprets structured and systematic stages to solve problems in the manufaktur industry. Based on the analysis, the results of this study produce a generic model that can be used in the automotive component industry. The models offered can increase production output, balance workloads and eliminate waste.
