Pisang ambon merupakan salah satu jenis pisang dan buah meja yang digemari oleh masyarakat. Pisang ambon mengandung kadar kalium yang disarankan untuk menjaga kestabilan tekanan darah sehingga dapat mencegah penyakit hipertensi bagi pra lansia. Akhir-akhir ini selain daging buah pisang ambon yang dimanfaatkan, kulit buah pisang ambon juga telah diolah dengan sebaik mungkin untuk dikonsumsi sebagai salah satu usaha pemenuhan kadar kalium bagi manusia. Hal ini memberikan ide untuk meneliti perbedaan signifikan kadar kalium pada daging dan kulit buah pisang ambon. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara mengambil sampel secara non probability accidental. Sampel yang diambil didestruksi basah dan diukur kadar kaliumnya menggunakan Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom (SSA). Hasil penelitian memberikan data kadar kalium daging dan kulit buah pisang ambon berturut-turut adalah 359,19 dan 882,38 mg/100 gram. Perbedaan kadar kalium yang didapat dianalisis menggunakan Independent T-Test SPSS memberikan nilai signifikansi ? < 0,05 yang artinya perbedaan kadar kalium pada daging dan kulit buah pisang signifikan.

ABSTRAK Jamur susu harimau (Lignosus rhinocerus) merupakan tanaman yang digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional di pedalaman Kalimantan Barat terutama di Kapuas Hulu. Salah satu konstituen fitokimia yang terkandung adalah flavonoid (flavon dan flavanon). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar flavonoid total pada ekstrak etanol jamur susu harimau. Simplisia jamur susu harimau dimaserasi menggunakan etanol 96 %. Skrining fitokima terhadap keberadaan flavonoid dalam ekstrak menggunakan serbuk magnesium dan amil alkohol. Penentuan kadar flavonoid total pada ekstrak etanol jamur susu harimau dilakukan secara spektrofotometri UV-Vis dengan metode kolorimetri (AlCl3) pada ? 410 nm dan dinyatakan sebagai flavonoid total dalam ekuivalen kuersetin (EQ). Kadar flavonoid total pada ekstrak etanol jamur susu harimau adalah sebesar 33,041 mgEQ/g ekstrak. Ekstrak etanol jamur susu harimau yang mengandung flavonoid berpotensi sebagai sumber antiooksidan alami dan potensial untuk dikembangkan dalam produk obat dan kosmetik. Kata kunci: Jamur susu harimau, kadar flavonoid total, kolorimetri.

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is classified as a silent killer in society. Insulin therapy is generally the management of DM, morever there is a side effect of weight gain from hypoglicemic effects. Another solution is a low glycemic index food diet in analogue rice form. The materials constructed as analogue rice are sweet potato tubers (Ipomoea batatas L.), with high dietary fiber and low glycemic index, as well as antioxidant fortification of Moringa oleifera leaves. Objectives: Updating the latest knowledge on the chemical composition of raw materials and health benefits for people with diabetes, along with analogue rice making technology in order to get the best results. Methods: This study was conducted with a literature review method which is classified as a systematic qualitative descriptive study. Results: Various studies have shown that both raw materials are reported to have various chemical compounds and nutritional components, low glycemic index, antioxidant activity, and anti-DM. Hot extrusion technology provides the best results in making analogue rice. Conclusion: The analogue rice production made from sweet potato tubers and antioxidant fortification of moringa leaves by hot extrusion are used to produce functional herbal products as a result to diversify the food for DM sufferers. Lantana camara is a medicinal plant belongs to family Verbenaceae. It is widely used as traditional medicine for treating various health problems. But there has been no report about potential activity of L. camara that grow in Indonesia and its fractions. The aim of this research were to investigate the antimicrobial activity of extract and its fractions of L. camara leaves in against . Extract was prepared by maceration in ethanol (96%) then fractionated using n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Antimicrobial activity was carried out using agar difussion method and antioxidant activity was carried out using DPPH radical scavenging activity assay. Concentration of extract and fraction tested were 12,5 ?g/mL; 25 ?g/mL; 50 ?g/mL; and 100 ?g/mL. The result showed that extract and fraction of L. camara leaves exhibit strong antibacterial activity against Gram positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus), weak inhibition against Gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli), and and were not able to inhibit the growth of Candida albicans. The ethanolic extract of L. camara leaves and its fractions had antioxidant activity. DPPH radical scavenging assay showed the IC50 value of 8.95 ?g / mL for ethanolic extract.

Bungur (Lagerstroemia loudonii Teijsm. & Binn.) belong to the genus Lagerstroemia, family Lythraceae. Corosolic acid is a pentacyclic triterpene group contained in Lagerstroemia speciosa L. leaves and has been reported to reduce blood glucose levels by inhibiting alpha-glucosidase. The ethanol extract of the leaves of bungur (Lagerstroemia loudonii Teijsm. & Binn.) which was still green was reported to have alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activity of 262, 20 µg/mL, ethyl acetate and n-hexane fraction of 62.73 µg/mL and 97.16 µg/mL. This study aimed to determine the inhibitory activity of alpha-glucosidase of ethanol extract of fallen leaf and their fractions. The extraction process by reflux in 96% ethanol, the fractionation process by liquid-liquid extraction. Testing of alpha-glucosidase inhibitor activity using colorimetric method at a wavelength of 401 nm with chromogenic substrate p-nitrophenyl-?-D-glucopyranoside (PNPG) and alpha-glucosidase enzyme from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, acarbose was used as a standard inhibitor alpha-glucosidase. The results showed that the IC50 values ??of ethanol extract, n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water fraction were 170.39 µg/mL; 258.41 µg/mL; 382.46 µg/mL; and 134.27 µg/mL, and acarbose 14.6 µg/mL. The alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activity of the ethanol extract of the fallen leaves of bungur was greater than that of the ethanol extract of the leaves of bungur which was still green and the water fraction of the fallen leaves gave the greatest alpha-glucosidase inhibition activity with an IC50 of 134.27 µg/mL.

The recent research concerned in method development for determination of nitric oxide metabolites in serum using spectrophotometry visible based on Griess reaction. The reduction of nitrate to nitrite was performed using copper coated zinc. The method was optimized and validated. The determination of total nitrite in samples was started with deproteinization using ZnSO4 and NaOH. The supernatants were reducted using copper coated zinc, reacted with diazotization and coupling reagents, then incubated. The absorbance was measured using spectrophotometer visible. The optimum reductant mass of copper coated zinc is 1.5 g with reduction time 10 minutes, coefficient variation ? 5%. Linierity of analytical method gives a coefficient correlation, r > 0.995. Relative procedural standard deviation (Vx0) was ? 5%, precision ? 15%, and recovery 85-115%.

One of the complications that occur due to diabetes mellitus (DM) is Diabetic Foot Ulcer (UKD). UKD is an incidence of injuries that occur on the feet of people with diabetes due to complications of microangiopathy and macroangiopathy which can cause disability and even death. This study aims to identify and document traditional medicine used by traditional healers in Bali to treat UKD. This research was conducted using a comparative qualitative descriptive method that compares the data obtained from in-depth interviews and questionnaires filling with literature. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews with BATTRA in Bali as informants who have competence in the field of traditional UKD medicine. Determination of informants in this study using snowball sampling technique. The results of the research were carried out from the data obtained by 8 (eight) sources and obtained 10 ingredients, consisting of 6 (six) ingredients used topically and 4 (four) ingredients used orally. The main ingredient used in topical ingredients is honey. Of the 10 ingredients, there are 15 types of medicinal plants used for the treatment of UKD. Most of the medicinal plants used are aloe vera, garlic, pepper, onion and sandalwood.

Inflammation is the body's natural reaction to protect itself from pathogens that cause disease. Interleukin-6 (IL-6) acts as a pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokine released by T cells and macrophages to stimulate an immune response when an infection occurs. In this study, an in silico study of the ethanolic extract of kenikir (Cosmos caudatus) leaves as an anti-inflammatory based on its affinity for Interleukin-6 (IL-6) was carried out using the in silico molecular docking method. This research includes simulations of molecular docking of the ethanol extract of kenikir leaves against the IL-6 receptor (PDB ID: 1ALU) and prediction of pharmacokinetic profiles and toxicity using the Pre-ADMET server. The results showed that four potential compounds were obtained, namely C1 (Kaempferol), C2 (1-Caffeoylquinic acid, C3 (Procyanidin B1), dan C5 (Quercetin-3-O-pentoside). The four compounds have better ?G and Ki values ??compared to natural ligands. ?G value; Ki test compounds, namely (-5.29 Kcal / mol; 133.31 uM), (-6.02 Kcal / mol; 38.44 uM), (-5.38 Kcal / mol; 114, 24 uM), and (-5.46 Kcal / mol; 99.50 uM). PreADMET results of the four compounds have good adsorption power so that they can be considered in the preparation of oral route preparations. The results of the Ames test showed that C1 and C2 were mutagenic, while C3 and C4 were non-mutagenic.

Breast cancer is a type of malignant tumor that develops in the breast due to the cell’s abnormal growth. One of the chemotherapy agents used is paclitaxel, but its use causes various side effects. Therefore, the search for other compounds that can be used as an alternative treatment with minimal side effects is carried out. The compounds of oleandrin, oleandrigenin, and odoroside A derived from the leaves of the Nerium oleander have the potential to inhibit phosphorylation activation through a pathway mediated by phospho-STAT-3. The purpose of this study was to determine the best compound through molecular and pharmacokinetic interactions of the compounds found in Nerium oleander. Interaction studies are carried out by monitoring the aspects of in silico molecular docking simulation, predictions of absorption, distribution, metabolism and toxicity through the PreADMET web were also carried out, and Lipinski’s rules. Oleandrin compounds have good pharmacokinetic activity with HIA and Caco2 absorption values ??of 94.293% and 25.490 nm/s, PPB and BBB values ??of 82.203% and 0.046%. Oleandrin has a binding energy of -7.22 kcal/mol with an inhibition constant of 5.07 µM. Oleandrin does not have mutagenic potential but does have carcinogenic potential. Oleandrin has no mutagenic potential but has carcinogenic potential. However, in vitro studies have shown that oleandrin has the ability to inhibit tumor cell proliferation and stimulate tumor cell apoptosis.

Umbi ubi jalar ungu (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.) dan beras putih (Oryza sativa L.) diketahui memiliki aktivitas antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sediaan krim lulur scrub dari ekstrak etanol ubi jalar ungu dan mengetahui formula yang paling disukai. Umbi ubi jalar ungu diekstraksi dengan pelarut etanol 70% hingga menjadi ekstrak kental. Ekstrak kental tersebut kemudian diformulasikan menjadi sediaan krim lulur scrub yang terbagi atas 3 formula dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak yaitu konsentrasi 2% (FI), 4% (FII) dan 6% (FIII) yang masing masing formula ditambahkan serbuk beras putih sebagai bahan scrub. Evaluasi krim lulur scrub meliputi evaluasi mutu fisik (uji organoleptis, homogenitas, tipe krim, daya sebar, viskositas, sifat alir), uji pH, uji stabilitas dipercepat dengan metode cycling test dan uji hedonik (aroma, tekstur, warna, kesan lengket). Hasil evaluasi mutu fisik dan uji stabilitas menunjukkan krim lulur scrub yang diperoleh memiliki mutu dan stabilitas fisik yang baik. Hasil uji hedonik menunjukkan formula I merupakan formula yang paling disukai.
