Abstract

One of the problems in learning mathematics at school is the low ability of students in solving story problems associated with daily life, so that the results achieved are not optimal.?é?áThis is due to one of them is the ability of students in solving problems.?é?áTo overcome, it required an appropriate learning, one of which is to use the application filing problem as a solving problem. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of Math class grade VII F at SMP N2 Semarang on solving word problems related to flat wake.?é?áAs matter of that, the KKM used today is 77, therefore learning strategies to improve learning outcomes is steadily promoted. Problem in this study is whether the filing of the problem of learning can improve learning outcomes on completion of word problems relating to wake up flat??é?áThe method used is two conducted submission cycles and each cycle consist of two meetings.?é?áEach cycle comprises four phases: planning, action, observation and reflection.?é?áStudents discuss with the group in accordance with one specified group comprising 4 to 5 students. From the research results obtained by the average value in the first cycle is 80.5 and 73.1% completing the study. Hence, it does not meet the completeness limit of learning because learning is said complete if 85% achieves the exhaustiveness learning.?é?áThis is due to the role of teachers in learning still dominates the classroom so that students tend to be less active.?é?áIn the second cycle after extensive reflection and change in learning is getting satisfactory results.?é?áAlmost all students are actively involved in discussions so that the average value of learning to 87 and 88.5% completeness. Based on the results of these studies, the learning is very effective by filing problems to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes at of grade seven in VIIF in the case of ?é?áSMP N 2 Semarang on a flat wake of the academic year 2010/2011. Abstract

This study was focused on improving Javanese Language learning achievement of gambuh song material using demonstration strategy audio-visual media based at the fourth grade of SD N 2 Somawangi, which were 21 students that consisted of 10 male students and 11 female students. This study was a Classroom Action Research or PTK conducted in 2 cycles and in each cycle consists of 2 meetings. Each cycle includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. Student achievement data was obtained from the evaluation sheet distributed at each meeting. The improving results can be seen in each cycle. The indicator of the success of this study was an increase in learning outcomes of at least >80% included in the good criteria from the number of students who passed the minimum criteria of mastery learning (KKM) in Javanese Language subjects, it was 65. Learning completeness in the first cycle was 73%. Learning completeness in cycle II was 92% so that from cycle I to cycle II it increased 19%. The conclusion in this study was that Javanese language learning using demonstration strategy audio-visual media based was able to improve student learning achievement in Gambuh song material.

Abstract

Abstrak Selama ini prestasi belajar siswa pada pelajaran matematika masih jauh dari harapan kita. Dalam pembelajaran matematika harus diciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan,aktif,dan kreatif. Supaya tercipta pembelajaran yang aktif, kreatif, dan menyenangkan maka perlu adanya alat bantu pelajaran/alat peraga. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan secara berulang /siklus, dan siklus I peneliti menggunakan media garis bilangan untuk materi operasi bilangan bulat. Namun anak-anak belum sepenuhnya memahami konsep yang kami berikan. Siklus II, dalam siklus II media yanga dipakai diganti dengan media balok garis bilangan dengan prinsip kerja mudah dimengerti oleh anak. Hasil pengamatan (Siklus I) dari team kolaborasi ternyata dari 39 orang siswa, hanya 20 orang siswa yang bisa mengerjakan dengan benar (51, 28 %),sedang yang 19 orang (48,72 %) belum bisa mengerjakan dengan benar. Hasil observasi dan refleksi (Siklus II), hasilnya cukup menggembirakan dari 39 orang siswa terdapat 35 orang siswa (89,74 %) dapat mengerjakan soal dengan benar. Sisanya atau 4 orang siswa (10, 26 %) belum sepenuhnya mampu mengerjakan dengan tepat. Jadi dengan bantuan media balok garis bilangan ini sangat membantu siswa dalam memahami penngurangan bilangan bulat negatif. Kata Kunci : Peningkatan kemampuan, balok garis bilangan

Abstract

The quality of education in Indonesia needs to be improved, One of the efforts undertaken by the college through learning model development. The purpose of this research is to analyze the development of the learning model Reciprocal Teaching Pair Share (rtPS) in improving student learning outcomes microbiology and Testing the effectiveness of the learning model Reciprocal Teaching Pair Share (rtPS) in improving student learning outcomes at the Teachers' Training College Budi Utomo. The model used in this research is the development model of Thiagarajan 4D (1974). The 4D model has four stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Design test for individual testing and small scale trial is descriptive, whereas for large-scale field trials using quasi-experimental. Data were analyzed using General Linear Model (GLM) - Multivariate SPSS 16. The results showed that the development model of reciprocal teaching decent pair share used in learning activities. The results of large-scale trial could be concluded no effect on the learning model of cognitive learning outcomes of students. besides the development of a model reciprocal teaching pair share effective in improving student learning outcomes microbiology Budi Utomo Malang Teachers' Training College.Keywords: Learning Outcomes , rtPS ( Reciprocal Teaching Pair Share )

Abstract

Kurangya penguasaan kosakata dalam Bahasa inggris membuat siswa sulit dalam memahami pelajaran Bahasa inggris. Karena itu, peneliti mencoba melakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan menggunakan strategi “frontloading” untuk mengembangkan keterampilan siswa dalam kosakata. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) Untuk membuktikan dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini memiliki tujuan untuk melihat perkembangan kosakata siswa selama pelajaran “asking and giving opinion” dengan menggunakan "frontloading" strategi. 2) Untuk mengetahui bahwa strategi “frontloading” dapat mempermudah guru untuk mengajar “asking and giving opinion” di kelas dengan memperkaya kosakata peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dua kali termasuk, siklus 1, dan siklus 2. Pada siklus 1, peneliti memberikan penjelasan tentang meminta dan memberikan pendapat dan meminta siswa dengan strategi “frontloading” untuk menstimulasi pengetahuan mereka dengan beberapa gambar. Untuk membuktikan hasilnya, peneliti melakukan siklus 2. Pada siklus 2, peneliti menanyakan kepada siswa tentang beberapa video. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif dalam mengumpulkan data. Data kualitatif dilakukan dengan mengacu pada hasil observasi dan hasil kuantitatif. Data kuantitatif yang dilakukan dari hasil siswa dalam melakukan tes yang dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan "frontloading" mempengaruhi strategi respon siswa yang membuat mereka lebih aktif dan antusias dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The results of preliminary observations at SD Negeri 2 Tlogopucang found problems in learning Mathematics in Flat Build Material. Teachers dominate more and involve students less in the learning process. If we observe the current learning, the teacher has not managed the class well. The teacher has not used the right learning model. Students are less active in learning, the research used is Classroom Action Research which consists of two cycles. In each cycle two meetings were held. Data collection uses observation sheets and by conducting evaluation tests. Data analysis techniques use qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of the pre-cycle research, the average grade of 61 with a percentage of graduation 50%, students complete learning 8 children, students have not completed 8 children, the percentage of 50%. In cycle 1, it was obtained the average grade of 76, the percentage of completeness 65.75% the number of students who had completed learning 11 children, not yet completed learning a total of 5 children with a percentage of 35.25%. In cycle 2, all students meet the minimum completeness criteria, a percentage of 100% is obtained with an average grade of 96.25. The conclusion is the use of nail board media can improve the learning outcomes of students in class II of SDN 2 Tlogopucang in the academic year 2017/2018.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman bacaan prestasi belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Semarang. Pendekatan yang tepat, sehingga citra rasa membaca, benar-benar dapat dirasakan, adalah: (1) membaca harus selektif, artinya kita dapat melaksanakan segala sesuatu yang kita sukai harus disukai oleh orang lain. Kami menikmati membaca materi mungkin tidak disukai oleh orang lain pikirkan (siswa). Selektif tidak hanya menyenangkan (rasa), tetapi faktor-faktor untuk mempertimbangkan pembangunan; (2) orang individu akan membaca buku jika memberikan manfaat baik secara fisik dan mental sipembacanya; (3) membaca adalah keterampilan untuk hidup hingga jatuh tempo atau kematangan. Dari penelitian kehidupan. Dengan membaca kehidupan cakrawala yang luas. Dengan membaca seseorang memiliki kemampuan untuk berlisan yang baik dan sopan, sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa dan norma sosial. Membaca berbagai ilmu pengetahuan, hiburan, hal yang perlu diingat ketenangan pikiran, memecahkan masalah. Abstract

This research discusses about the management of extracurricular activities in developing students' interests and talents in SMA Negeri 2 Mendo Barat. Extracurricular activities are educational activities outside the subject and counseling services to assist the development of students according to their needs, potential, interests, and talents through activities specifically organized by education or education staff who are capable and authorized in school. The purpose of this research was to determine extracurricular management in developing students' interests and talents. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection by observation, interview, documentation, and questionnaire. The research findings that extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 2 Mendo Barat are required for all students and have been running well according to the provisions set by the school although there are still some obstacles in their implementation such as lack of experts in their fields, lack of facilities and infrastructure that support the implementation of activities, the lack of motivation from students so that there are still some students who do not follow extracurricular activities. In addition, the extracurricular activities that have just been active in SMA Negeri 2 Mendo Barat amounted to 8 extracurriculars, namely soccer, volleyball, scouting, rohis, 4 pillars of education, Taekwondo, KIR, PKS. The very limited number of extracurricular activities is one of the reasons students do not participate in extracurricular activities at school.

Abstract

The research was conducted to develop students argumentation skills through the utilization of social media Edmodo. The utilization of social media Edmodo was expected to treat students in forming a claim that was supported by the evidence and guarantees opinion to support the claim. The subjects of this study were the fourth semester students of academic year 2013/2014 in the University of PGRI Semarang as much as 3 classes (42 students per class) that follow the lecture of Natural Science Basis. Quantitative data of student argumentation skills was acquired through the assessment of the arguments quality by using the assessment instrument arguments rubric. The results showed that the use of social media Edmodo improved the student argumentation skills. Limited time in exercising the student argumentation skills in the class can be resolved with the interaction of students in solving problems which posted online. The quality of the student's argument can be seen from the most of the students were at level 2, 3, and 4. This indicated that the student has been able to establish a claim supported by the evidence and guarantees opinions to support the claims that have been made. Abstract

This was a descriptive qualitative study which was done in 2017 at junior high schools in Semarang Central Java, Indonesia. This study focused on the teachers’ perception and teaching writing using word games. According to Chastain (1988) "writing is a basic communication skill and a unique tool in the process of second language learning" (p.244). The problem of this study was what are the teachers’ perception towards the word games used in enhancing the students’ writing skill? The sample of the research were 6 junior high schools’ students in Semarang central java, Indonesia. They were students of grade eighth at SMP N 8, SMPN 39, SMPN 36, SMP Institut Indonesia, SMP PGRI Semarang, and SMP Theresiana Semarang. A structured interview was kindly used as the instrument in collecting the data. The findings are; 1) Teaching writing is not easy and need to be creative to make students understand since they have to master the way hoe to organize a good paragraph or text. 2) Usually they do not apply any games in teaching writing since they got the material for granted. 3) Most of the teachers have known what word game is. Even they have applied it sometimes in speaking and vocabulary. 4) Teachers rarely do teaching English using word games by purpose. Especially teaching writing, teachers do not really pay attention on the current skill. 5) Even though some teachers do not really understand the way to use word games in the case of implementation but then, they are aware that students need a motivation in a space of teaching and learning process during filling the material. 6) Teachers like teaching writing using word games because word games can help them to motivate students in following the questions since the love playing while learning in the classroom. 7) teachers can motivate students to follow the lesson with fun, teachers easily follow the word games because it is equipped by the clear instructions, there are various word games which are related to teaching skills, word games are easily made/created by teachers based on the need of the lesson plan, word games are the simplest media to teach and long life. 8) word games which applicable to teach writing using word games are entitled broken sentence, mixed story, arranging sentence in a story, and getting occupation. The conclusions are The teachers’ perceptions towards teaching writing using word games are; teachers feel happy and fun during teaching writing using word games, teachers need more energy and time to maintain the word games, teachers should focus on the goal of writing mastery not the game itself, teachers should be creative in creating and organizing the word games, and teachers believe that word games are able to motivate students in following the lesson.  Key words: teachers’ perception, teaching writing, word games
