Abstract

The use of probiotics in the ration can increase the activity of enzymes and absorb of feed nutrient. Probiotics is a feed additive that can be given in ration or drinking water in the form of microorganisms that can live in the digestive tract, in symbiosis with the existing micro-organisms, is particularly useful and able to promote growth as well as the feed efficiency without undergoing the process of absorb. Based on the above, this study aimed to determine the effect of buffalo rumen cellulolytic bacteria in drinking water as a source of probiotics on the carcass weight of the 8-week aged Bali ducks. This research was conducted at Dajan Peken Village of Tabanan, Bali. The design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and six replications.The variables measured were the slaughter weight, the carcass weight, the carcass percentage, consumption of rations and drinking water consumption. The three treatments namely: drinking water without cellulolytic bacteria as the control (A)  drinking water of 0.20% cellulolytic bacterial culture (B), and drinking water of 0.40% cellulolytic bacterial culture (C). The results showed that the administration of bacterial culture of cellulolytic of 0.20% and 0.40% through drinking water significantly (P <0.05) could increase the slaughter weight, the carcass weight, and the carcass percentage. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the administration of probiotic bacteria isolates of cellulolytic buffalo rumen through drinking water at the level of 0.20% and 0.40% could increase the carcass of the 8 week aged Bali ducks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh biosuplemen isi rumen sapi bali terhadap berat dan kompisisi fisik karkas itik bali jantan yang diberi ransum non konvensional. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, dimana pada setiap ulangan digunakan 5 ekor itik yang mempunyai berat badan awal 152,00-152,87g, sehingga jumlah itik yang digunakan adalah 75 ekor. Kelima perlakuan tersebut adalah perlakuan RSP0 (100% ransum basal tanpa biosuplemen mengandung isi rumen sapi bali sebagai kontrol), RSP20 (95% ransum basal dengan 5% biosuplemen mengandung isi rumen sapi bali 20%), RSP40 (95% ransum basal dengan 5% biosuplemen mengandung isi rumen sapi bali 40%), RSP60 (95% ransum basal dengan 5% biosuplemen menganung isi rumen sapi bali 60%), dan RSP80 (95% ransum basal dengan 5% biosuplemen mengandung isi rumen sapi bali 80%). Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah berat potong, berat karkas, persentase karkas, berat daging karkas, berat tulang karkas, dan berat kulit termasuk lemak karkas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan berat potong, berat daging karkas, dan berat kulit termasuk lemak karkas pada kelima perlakuan berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05). Berat karkas perlakuan RSP20 dan RSP40 nyata lebih tinggi (P<0,05) daripada perlakuan RSP0. Perlakuan RSP60 berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) lebih tinggi daripada perlakuan RSP0 dan Perlakuan RSP80 nyata lebih rendah (P<0,05) daripada perlakuan RSP0. Persentase karkas perlakuan RSP20, RSP40, dan RSP60 berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) lebih tinggi daripada perlakuan RSP0 dan perlakuan RSP80 berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) lebih rendah dari pada perlakuan RSP0. Berat tulang karkas perlakuan RSP20, RSP40, dan RSP60 nyata lebih tinggi (P<0,05) daripada perlakuan RSP0 dan perlakuan RSP80 berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) lebih tinggi daripada perlakuan RSP0. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ransum non konvensional disuplementasi dengan  5% biosuplemen isi rumen sapi bali 20% (RSP20) dan 40% (RSP40) dapat meningkatkan berat dan komposisi fisik karkas itik bali jantan umur 8 minggu.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the external offal of bali duck 26 weeks were given feed with fermented papaya leaf meal supplementation has been implemented in the enclosure belonging to Mr. I Ketut Sunatra located at Jalan Bingin Nambe, Kediri, Tabanan. The study was conducted for 14 weeks from September to December 2017 start of preparation until finished. Ducks used are a total of 18 bali ducks with an average initial weight ranges 1286,63 ± 92,88 gram. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) which consist of 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were P0 (ration without supplementation of papaya leaf meal fermented), P1 (ration with supplementation of 8% papaya leaf meal fermented), and P2 (ration with supplementation of 16% papaya leaf meal fermented). The variables observed were weight of the head, legs, neck, blood and feathers. The results showed that the ration with fermented papaya leaf meal supplementation did not give a significant effect (P> 0.05) to the weight of the external offal (head, legs, neck, blood and feathers) bali ducks age 26 weeks. Based on these results it can be concluded that supplementation of 8% and 16% flour fermented papaya leaves in ration does not affect the external offal of the bali duck 26 weeks and the ration can be used as an alternative feed ingredient because a cheaper price ration. Abstract

Mount Agung eruption in August to December 2017, caused the evacuation of bali cattle to evacuation zones. This study aims to compare the quality of Bali cattle rations based on nutrient consumption, dry matter digestibility, and organic matter digestibility Bali cattle rations given before and during in evacuation zones. The first step is a survey conducted from January to April 2018 to farmers to gather information about the botanical composition given to bali cattle before and after in evacuation zones and sampling of feed ingredients (forages and concentrates). The second step is the analysis of ration samples in the laboratory from May to June 2018. The rations are made based on observations in evacuation zones and tabulation of questionnaire results data. Variables observed were consumption of nutrient rations including dry matter (DM) kg/h/d organic matter (OM) kg/h/d, crude protein (CP) g/h/d, crude fiber (CF) g/h/d , ether extract (EE) g/h/d, and gross energy (GE) k.kal/h/d and feed digestibility including dry matter digestibility (DMD) %, and organic matter digestibility (OMD)%. The results showed that the consumption of DM, OM, CP, CF, EE, and GE rations before in evacuation zones was 6.55 kg/h/d respectively, 5.87 kg/h/d, 1,174.77 g/h/d, 1697.42 g/h/d, 443.12 g/h/d, and 26,374.82 kcal/h/d, as well as in evacuation zones, each 6.61 kg/h/d, 5.88 kg/h/d, 1082.96 g/h/d, 1769.47 g/h/d, 405.34 g/h/d, 25,072.90 kcal/h/d. DMD and OMD of Bali cattle rations before in evacuation zones were higher, but the analysis of the two rations showed different results which were not significant so it was concluded that the two types of rations were of good quality. Abstract

Penerapan teknologi Inseminasi Buatan (IB) dalam usaha untuk meningkatkan populasi sapi di kabupaten Tabanan sudah tersebar diseluruh kecamatan. Namun, populasi ternak sapi di kabupaten Tabanan dilaporkan mengalami penurunan akhir-akhir ini. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui : 1) karakteristik inseminator; 2) pengetahuan dan keterampilan inseminator tentang IB; 3) menganalisis hubungan karakteristik, pengetahuan dan keterampilan inseminator dengan keberhasilan inseminasi buatan pada ternak sapi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kabupaten Tabanan dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 33 orang yang diambil menggunakan metode sensus. Jenis data yang digunakan berupa data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer diperoleh dari wawancara langsung dan observasi sedangkan data sekunder dari studi pustaka. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu analisis deskriptif dan uji korelasi jenjang spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Inseminator rata-rata mengikuti pendidikan selama 12 tahun, saat ini berumur rata-rata 51 tahun dengan pengalaman kerja sebagai inseminator selama 16 tahun dengan kemampuan menginseminasi rata-rata 13 ekor perbulan; 2) pengetahuan inseminator tentang IB termasuk kategori tinggi dan keterampilan inseminator termasuk kategori sangat baik; 3) Keberhasilan inseminasi buatan pada ternak sapi di kabupaten Tabanan termasuk kategori baik, faktor-faktor karakteristik seperti pendidikan formal dan pengalaman kerja berhubungan positif nyata dengan keberhasilan IB, sedangkan umur, jumlah ternak yang diinseminasi perbulan, pengetahuan dan keterampilan berhubungan positif tidak nyata dengan keberhasilan inseminasi buatan pada ternak sapi di Kabupaten Tabanan. Abstract

Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui offal internal itik bali yang diberi ransum komersial dengan suplementasi daun pepaya (Carica papaya, L.) telah dilaksanakan di kandang itik milik Bapak I Ketut Sunatra yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Kediri-Tabanan. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan mulai Mei sampai dengan Agustus 2012. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan lima ulangan, setiap ulangan menggunakan 5 ekor itik bali jantan yang beratnya homogen.  Keempat perlakuan tersebut adalah ransum komersial tanpa tepung daun pepaya (A), 98% ransum komersial + 2% tepung daun pepaya (B), 96% ransum komersial + 4% tepung daun pepaya (C), dan 94% ransum komersial + 6% tepung daun pepaya (D).  Variabel yang diamati meliputi berat proventrikulus, ventrikulus, hati, ginjal, limpa, pankreas, empedu, tenggorokan, kerongkongan itik bali.  Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa berat proventrikulus, ventrikulus, dan hati meningkat nyata (P<0,05) dengan suplementasi tepung daun pepaya level 2-6%.  sedangkan, berat ginjal, limpa, pankreas, dan tenggorokan menunjukan hasil berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05).  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa offal internal itik bali yang diberi ransum komersial dengan suplementasi daun pepaya (Carica papaya L.) pada level 2-6% dapat meningkatkan offal internal, terutama proventrikulus, ventrikulus, hati, empedu dan kerongkongan, namun belum berpengaruh terhadap ginjal, limpa, pankreas, dan tenggorokan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the parameters of fresh semen quality of bali bull at Baturiti Artificial Insemination Center. Primary data is obtained from surveys techniques, interviews, and on the job training, while secondary data is obtained through records of fresh semen storage results for the bali bull during October 2018 at Baturiti Artificial Insemination Center. The variables observed in this study included: volume, color, percentage of individual motility, concentration of spermatozoa, and amount of frozen semen production. The results showed that the average characteristics of fresh semen of bali bull at Baturiti Artificial Insemination Center in October 2018 consisted of semen volume were 6,7 ml, semen of bali’s bull dominated by the cream color, individual motility percentage were 69%, spermatozoa concentration were 1.175 million/ml and the production of frozen semen is 15.343 straw. The conclusions showed in general the characteristics of fresh semen of bali bull at Baturiti Artificial Insemination Center include volume, color, percentage of individual motility, spermatozoa concentration in accordance with standards and the amount of frozen semen production according to target and frozen semen is suitable for distribution. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapat informasi tentang pertumbuhan dan produksi rumput Benggala (Panicum maximum cv. Trichoglume) yang ditanam bersama legum Alysicarpus vaginalis pada dosis pupukN, P dan K berbeda. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di rumah kaca stasiun penelitian Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana selama 8 minggu, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola split splot terdiri atas mainplot/petak utama yaitu jumlah legum Alysicarpus vaginalis: tanpa legum Alysicarpus vaginalis (PA0), 1 legum Alysicarpus vaginalis (PA1), 2 legum Alysicarpus vaginalis (PA2) dan 3 legum Alysicarpus vaginalis (PA3), dan subplot/anak petak yaitu dosis pupuk: tanpa pupuk (D0), 50 kg/ha N + 25 kg/ha P2O5 + 25 kg/ha K2O (D1), 100 kg/ha N + 50 kg/ha P2O5 + 50 kg/ha K2O (D2). Terdapat 12 kombinasi dan diulang 3 kali sehingga terdapat 36 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terjadi interaksi antara pertanaman campuran dan dosis pupuk N, P dan K pada semua variabel pertumbuhan, hasil dan karakteristik tumbuh. Pertumbuhan rumput Panicum maximum yang ditanam bersama legum Alysicarpus vaginalis secara statistik memberikan hasil berpengaruh tidak nyata pada semua variabel pertumbuhan, hasil dan karakteristik tumbuh. Perlakuan dosis pupuk NPK secara statistik memberikan hasil berpengaruh tidak nyata pada semua variabel pertumbuhan, hasil dan karakteristik tumbuh. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pertumbuhan dan hasil rumput Panicum maximum cenderung menurun dengan peningkatan jumlah legum Alysicarpus vaginalis. Pertumbuhan dan hasil rumput Panicum maximum cenderung menurun dengan meningkatnya dosis pupuk. Tidak terjadi interaksi antara jumlah legum dan dosis pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi rumput Panicum maximum.
