Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the correlation between duration of watching television and bodily-kinesthetic intelligence of 6 years old. Six development scopes according to Regulation of National Education Minister of Indonesia Number 137 in 2014, what must be stimulated in accordance with the achievement level of six years old children’s development cover language, art, physical, social emotional, cognitive, moral, and religion. Bodily-kinesthetic or physical ability, according to Gardner, becomes one of competences that must be developed at early age. The research method used was quantitative research. The analysis was done by using correlation product moment with two variables; independent variable which is the duration of watching television (variable X) and dependent variable which is bodily-kinesthetic intelligence (variable Y). The decision criteria if “r” score (r count) along with significance (sig.) <0,05, then independent variable has strongly convincing correlation with dependent variable. If “r” score (r count) along with significance (sig.) > 0,05, then the independent variable has strongly convincing correlation with the dependent variable. The results of the research showed correlation coefficient (r) = 0,842 along with significance 0,000. Based on the decision criteria above, it can be concluded that correlation from both variables is significant because its significance is smaller than 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05). Then in can be concluded that there is strong correlation, in which the longer the children watch television then the higher their bodily kinesthetic intelligence was.

Abstract

This study is aimed to know (1) The effect of multisensory on the ability to recognize the letter sounds of children aged 4-5 years?, (2) The effect of multisensory on the ability to recognize letter forms of children aged 4-5 years?, (3) The relationship of ability to recognize letter sounds and forms of children aged 4-5 years?, (4) simultaneous interaction between the use of multisensory on the ability to recognize letter sounds and forms of children aged 4-5 years? This study uses Quasi Experimental Design, with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This design is similar to the pretest - posttest control group design where, the experimental group or the control group is not randomly selected. The error sampling was 5% with 78 children. The results can be concluded as follows; the students' ability to recognize letter sounds in the control group and experimental group is significantly different, where the obtained T test after treatment is -3.204 with sig value (probability) of 0.003 referring to average score of control group of 35.18 and group experiment of 41.58. The children's ability to recognize  letter forms in the control group and experimental group show that the obtained T test  after treatment was of -0.042 with  sig value (probability) of 0,000 referring to the average score of the control group of 45.891 and experimental group of 50.63 . The correlation between the ability to recognize letter sounds and forms in the control group is 0.905 and 0.826 in the experimental group, meaning that it has the strong correlation, where if children's ability to recognize letter sounds is good so ability to recognize letter forms is good as well. Therefore, it can be concluded that the direct use of multisensory makes children easier to learn.

Abstract

Food plays an important role in providing energy and nutrient supplies for children. The consumption of school's snacks is important due to children's high activities. The problem in this study is whether there is a difference in parental understanding of synthetic additives through parenting of healthy lunch-box and whether there is an increase in parents' understanding of synthetic additives through healthy lunch-box parenting. This study aims to determine differences in parental understanding of synthetic additives through healthy lunch-box parenting. This study also purposes to find out the improvement of parents' understanding of synthetic additives through healthy parenting supplies. The research is quantitative with the experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. The method of data collection is questionnaires and observations. The type of the data is ordinal. The sampling technique is a simple random sampling. This research is conducted at PGRI 42 Jomblang Kindergarten with 30 research subjects who are parents or students' guardians. The results in this study show the hypothesis test using SPSS statistics 23 calculation. Then the t-test test data is obtained through a different paired sample t-test on the program with a value of t -1.356 with a 2-tailed significance value of 0.000. It can be assumed that H(a) is accepted because of the significance value <0.05. This means that there is a difference in parents' understanding in the PGRI 42 Jomblang Kindergarten in Semarang City regarding synthetic additives through lunch-box parenting.
