Abstract

This study analyzes the phenomenon of Sangiran Batik in Central Java, Indonesia, from a sociological perspective with a focus on cultural heritage and local identity. Sangiran batik has a deep meaning for the local people and is an important part of Central Java's cultural heritage. This study aims to understand the role of Sangiran Batik in shaping and maintaining the cultural identity of the local community and the resulting social impact. The research method used is a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with batik artisans, local communities and cultural observers. From the data analysis it was found that Sangiran Batik has a significant role in shaping the cultural identity of the local community. Batik cloth is a symbol of the richness of local culture and history, connecting the younger generation with ancestral heritage. In addition, the production and promotion activities of Sangiran Batik also have a positive economic and social impact on the local community.

Abstract

This study seeks to explore the dynamics of political communication in the Salatiga City election. The author will use Bourdieu's ideas as a foundation to understand social reality and social media analysis as a campaign medium for mayoral and deputy mayor candidates of Salatiga City. Thus, the analysis can further describe how political communication of candidate pairs takes place. Also, how the understanding of the candidate pair in bringing plurality values in the campaign can be seen. Through a qualitative research method with an exploratory type, the results of the study show that there are candidate pairs who have advantages in different social capital and capital capital, which ultimately has implications for the political communication style of each candidate pair that is different from each other. In addition, to support the arguments and data presented, the author uses the Hybrid Media System (HMS) as one of the approaches to understand how different types of media – both old and new media – interact with each other and compete in the process of production, distribution, and consumption of information. This study concludes that the media plays an important role in the political communication process of each candidate which also utilizes the social capital and political capital owned by each candidate.

Abstract

Di era modern dengan masyarakatnya yang individualis, solidaritas sosial menjadi aspek utama dalam memperkuat hubungan antarindividu. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan membangun solidaritas jemaat melalui aksi sosial pembagian sayur, oleh mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) bersama Gereja Bethel Indonesia (GBI) Ola et Labora Buksuling, Salatiga. Kegiatan berfungsi sebagai bentuk pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan dan memperkuat kebersamaan serta kepedulian dalam komunitas gereja. Analisis menggunakan pendekatan interdisipliner, mengacu pada teori solidaritas sosial Émile Durkheim, teori religiusitas Glock & Stark, serta teori hierarki kebutuhan Maslow. Solidaritas sosial tercermin dalam aksi kolektif yang mempererat hubungan antarjemaat melalui pembagian sayur, sementara religiusitas menjadi faktor pendorong keterlibatan individu dalam tindakan prososial. Selain itu, teori Maslow menunjukkan pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar seperti pangan dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis dan sosial jemaat. Pelaksanaan program melalui metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) mencakup tahapan: planning, action, dan member checking. Planning melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan observasi lapangan untuk menentukan sasaran penerima manfaat. Implementasi pembagian sayuran dilakukan secara berkala, disertai edukasi tentang pola makan sehat. Evaluasi melalui wawancara dan diskusi reflektif bersama jemaat untuk mengukur efektivitas program. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan kegiatan berhasil menunjukkan solidaritas sosial dalam komunitas gereja, mempererat hubungan antarjemaat, serta menumbuhkan kesadaran pola makan sehat. Program ini juga memberikan manfaat psikososial rasa memiliki dan keterlibatan jemaat dalam komunitas. Kegiatan ini berpotensi direplikasi sebagai model pembangunan sosial berbasis komunitas yang berkelanjutan.
