Abstract

Non-Formal Education is a solution for children and adults who have dropped out of school. Apart from that, with Non-Formal Education, educational services can serve anyone, because obtaining education, science and knowledge can be done in formal or non-formal ways. The education management process includes planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating. Through good planning, it is hoped that PKBM can become a truly effective forum for community empowerment, so that it can improve the quality of life of the community as expected and ultimately be able to improve the quality of human resources as a whole. The general aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of PKBM management. The specific aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of planning, organizing, implementing, controlling and evaluating PKBM. This research method is evaluative, collecting data through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this research show that the effectiveness of management in PKBM Sejahtera Insan Indonesia in East Barito Regency, South Kalimantan is effective, both from planning analysis, organization, implementation, control and evaluation due to management. In accordance with PKBM management standards and based on analysis standards for PKBM Sejahtera Insan Indonesia in East Barito Regency, South Kalimantan, it received a score of 100%, which means all aspects are effective. The management carried out at PKBM Sejahtera Insan Indonesia is running according to initial planning.

Abstract

LKP’s managerial ability is one of the keys to being able to run an institution in achieving its goals in improving the quality of training participants, so that training participants are able to complete for job opportunities with DUDI partners. LKP's good managerial ability, which is also supported by the results of quality training participants, increases the job opportunities of trainees at DUDI partners. The research objectives (1) to determine the managerial ability of LKP in Malang City, (2) to determine the job opportunities of training participants in business partners and the industrial world through the Job Skills Education Program (PKK), (3) to determine the effect of LKP managerial abilities on opportunities the work of training participants for business partners and the industrial world through the Employment Skills Education Program (PKK). LKP managerial ability has a significant effect on the job opportunities of trainees at DUDI partners. Thus, simultaneously, the LKP managerial ability variable has a positive and significant effect on the job opportunities of the trainees.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the economic resilience strategies of visually impaired families in rural Grobogan Regency, Indonesia, who face the challenges of social exclusion and limited accessibility. The method used is a qualitative approach of a case study wi th a purposive sample consisting of 10 visually impaired families who are actively involved in daily economic activities. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that social stigma against people with disabilities is the main obstacle to their participation in economic and social activities. Discrimination in employment opportunities and limited access to education and public services also exacerbate their economic resilience. Nonetheless, rural blind families show resilience through adaptation strategies, such as working in the informal sector, opening home businesses, and leveraging social support from extended families and communities. This research provides new insights into the importance of creating an inclusive social environment and policies that support accessibility for people with disabilities, in order to improve their economic resilience. These findings can also serve as a reference for the government and the community in designing more inclusive empowerment policies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe effective communication patterns in interfaith families and their implications for education and household well-being. The background of the research is based on the phenomenon of interfaith couples who face challenges in building harmony, particularly in decision-making, child education, and the instillation of family values. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study technique on several interfaith couples in Makassar City. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The results show that effective communication characterized by openness, empathy, equality, and conflict management becomes an essential factor in creating harmony in interfaith families. Moreover, healthy communication plays a role in shaping inclusive family education, instilling values of tolerance, and supporting the growth of happiness within the household. The conclusion emphasizes that appropriate communication patterns can serve as a bridge to strengthen family education and maintain the emotional stability of interfaith couples.

Abstract

This study critically examines the implementation of the Entrepreneurship Skills Education Program (PKW) at the Teuku Markam Community Learning Center (PKBM) as a strategic mechanism to revitalize the role of non-formal education in community empowerment. Although non-formal education is often marginalized as a secondary pathway, this study argues that its relevance can be restored through an empowerment-oriented and context-driven learning model. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis involving institution leaders, tutors, and purposively selected learners. Data analysis followed an iterative process of reduction, categorization, and interpretation, supported by triangulation to ensure credibility. Findings indicate that the PKW program goes beyond conventional skills training by embedding learning within a structured empowerment framework consisting of awareness, capacity building, and empowerment stages. Beyond technical sewing competencies, the program fosters entrepreneurial skills, self-efficacy, and productive engagement among learners, particularly marginalized women. This demonstrates that non-formal education can serve as a transformative space that connects learning to livelihood outcomes. This study contributes to the discourse by repositioning entrepreneurship-based non-formal education as an instrument of socio-economic transformation, rather than simply a programmatic intervention. The study underscores that the revitalization of non-formal education depends on its ability to generate real and context-relevant impact.

Abstract

Penguatan ekonomi desa memerlukan model pemberdayaan yang tidak hanya meningkatkan kapasitas produksi, tetapi juga menghubungkan produk lokal dengan pengalaman wisata berbasis pengetahuan. Di Desa Bontotiro, pelaku UMKM dan pengelola eduwisata masih menghadapi kendala dalam penguatan identitas produk, kemasan, promosi digital, dan integrasi produk lokal ke dalam aktivitas wisata desa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memperkuat kapasitas pelaku UMKM dan pengelola eduwisata melalui pendampingan identitas merek, pengembangan kemasan, pemetaan potensi wisata, dan promosi digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) dan partisipatif melalui observasi, lokakarya, pendampingan, serta evaluasi reflektif bersama mitra. Kegiatan melibatkan 25 peserta yang terdiri atas pelaku UMKM, pengelola Pokdarwis, perangkat desa, dan masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa potensi pertanian dan produk olahan lokal dapat diintegrasikan dalam pengembangan eduwisata berbasis pertanian. Pendampingan menghasilkan penguatan identitas visual pada 10 produk UMKM, dua konsep paket eduwisata pertanian, serta materi promosi berbasis media digital. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pentingnya identitas produk, promosi digital, dan pengalaman wisata berbasis pertanian untuk mendukung pemberdayaan ekonomi desa secara partisipatif dan berkelanjutan bersama.

Abstract

Non-formal education serves as a strategic pathway for adult learners who require flexibility and life-relevant learning. However, qualitative studies examining the role of Self-Directed Learning (SDL) in shaping authentic self-competence and consistent self-control remain limited. This study aims to explore the experiences of learning citizens in implementing SDL and its impact on self-competence and the stability of self-control. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted in several Community Learning Centers (PKBM) in Malang Regency and Malang City. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using an inductive thematic approach. The findings indicate that SDL fosters more authentic self-competence through personal goal setting, contextual learning strategies, and experiential self-evaluation. In addition, SDL strengthens consistent self-control through emotional regulation, time management, perseverance, and reflective decision-making. SDL is not merely a single skill but a pedagogical process influenced by tutor support, learning flexibility, and social-collaborative interaction. The implications highlight the importance of non-formal learning designs that provide structured autonomy, reflective practices, and self-regulatory support to enhance authentic competencies and self-control among learning citizens.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi guru pendidik anak usia dini adalah kurang mampu dalam hal menyelenggarakan kegiatan parenting education karena kurang adanya pembinaan dari pihak yang terkait. Tujuan pembinaan ini ialah memfasilitasi guru pendidik anak usia dini dengan mengambil subyek yaitu guru di RA Muslimat dalam menyelenggarakan program parenting education. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah identifikasi dan sosialisasi kegiatan, diskusi, praktek, serta evaluasi dan refleksi dengan pendekatan share and care. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan memberikan perubahan pada guru RA Muslimat dalam bentuk mampu merancang program parenting education sesuai kebutuhan wali murid/orangtua dan berkomitmen untuk melaksanakan program parenting education di lembaga secara periodik. Kegiatan pembinaan semacam ini dapat dilaksanakan secara periodik untuk menjaga dan memberikan informasi terkait dengan pengasuhan anak usia dini yang melibatkan orangtua atau wali murid.

Abstract

Adult learners require learning approaches that acknowledge their experiences, autonomy, and real-life problem contexts. Constructivist learning has been widely recognized as an instructional approach that supports meaningful learning through active engagement and knowledge construction. This article aims to examine the relationship between constructivist learning, self-regulated learning, and problem-solving skills among adult learners. Using a qualitative conceptual approach supported by recent empirical studies, this paper explains how constructivist learning environments foster self-regulated learning processes, which in turn enhance adult learners’ problem-solving skills. The discussion highlights that self-regulated learning functions as a key mediating process linking constructivist pedagogy and problem-solving competence. This article contributes to adult education literature by offering a process-oriented framework for understanding how learner-centered pedagogies support higher-order skills development in adult learning contexts.

Abstract

Abstract: The dynamics of assignment and high mobility in military families present the complexity of roles that have the potential to affect the stability of relationships and family harmony. Although various studies have addressed stress and resilience in military families, the balance of women's roles is still rarely understood as an actively constructed relational mechanism. This study aims to explore women's experiences in building a balance of roles and analyze their contribution to the harmony of the military family. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological design. Participants consisted of 15 wives of Army soldiers who were selected through purposive sampling techniques in the Greater Malang area. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, limited observations, and documentation. The credibility of the data is maintained through triangulation of sources and techniques as well as the member checking process. Data analysis was carried out using Moustakas' phenomenological steps through the process of horizontalization, thematic grouping, and synthesis of the meaning of experience. The results of the study identified four main themes, namely domestic role negotiation, strengthening marital communication, emotion regulation, and community social support. The findings of the study show that role balance is built through adaptive relational processes and contributes to the stability of family interactions during military assignments. This study provides contextual empirical support for the study of the Role Theory and the quality of marriage in the socio-cultural context of the Indonesian military family. Abstrak: Dinamika penugasan dan mobilitas tinggi dalam keluarga militer menghadirkan kompleksitas peran yang berpotensi memengaruhi stabilitas relasi dan keharmonisan keluarga. Meskipun berbagai penelitian telah membahas stres dan resiliensi pada keluarga militer, keseimbangan peran perempuan masih jarang dipahami sebagai mekanisme relasional yang dibangun secara aktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman perempuan dalam membangun keseimbangan peran serta menganalisis kontribusinya terhadap keharmonisan keluarga militer. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi. Partisipan terdiri atas 15 istri prajurit TNI Angkatan Darat yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling di wilayah Malang Raya. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur, observasi terbatas, dan dokumentasi. Kredibilitas data dijaga melalui triangulasi sumber dan teknik serta proses member checking. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan langkah fenomenologi Moustakas melalui proses horizontalisasi, pengelompokan tematik, dan sintesis makna pengalaman. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi empat tema utama, yaitu negosiasi peran domestik, penguatan komunikasi marital, regulasi emosi, dan dukungan sosial komunitas. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keseimbangan peran dibangun melalui proses relasional yang adaptif dan berkontribusi terhadap stabilitas interaksi keluarga selama masa penugasan militer. Penelitian ini memberikan dukungan empiris kontekstual terhadap kajian Teori Peran dan kualitas perkawinan dalam konteks sosial budaya keluarga militer Indonesia.
