Abstract

Abstract This research reveals Tsa'lab, a world-famous Kufi grammarian, his idea and the most important representative of the Kufi school. Such research is still rare in Indonesia, and this research is essential and prestigious in revealing a person who has a great contribution to building the grammar base. The type of this research is qualitative research using descriptive and critical analysis. The discoveries are as follows: (1) Tsa'lab believed that the alif in the dual noun is a substitute for the two dhammahs in Zayd and Zayd, and that the waw is a substitute for the three dhammahs in Zayd, Zayd and Zayd, and this is a unique idea of ​​Tsa’lab as a representative of the Kufi school; (2) Tsa'lab added the verbs نشب and قام to the sisters of كادَ; (3) Al-Kisa'i and Al-Farra' believed that the function of inna can be invalidated if inna’s ism is far from it, and we see that Tsa'lab sing the words of Badui people:فليت ابن جوَّابٍ من الناس حظُّنا * وأنَّ لنا في النار بعدُ خلودُ.” He says after it: "وأنَّ لنا في النار بعدُ خلودُ" inna’s ism رُفِعَ على الاستئنافِ ; (4) Tsa’lab chooses the opinion of Basrah school in the matter "إِذَنْ" that it is permissible to cancel عمل إذنْ and رفعُ المضارع after it with the meeting of the conditions requiring the النصب, such as: "إِذنْ تُفْلِحُ" in response to someone who said: "سَأَجتهِدُ"; (5) Tsa’lab’s take sides towards the Kufi school of thought is more relative to his take sides towards the Basrah school of thought, because he is from the grammarians of Kufa; (6) Tsa’lab relied greatly on السماع and الرواية and knowledge of the anomalous and rare parts of the language and its derivations on the tongues of the Arabs and the strange parts of the speech of the Arabs in building his idea about nahwu.

Abstract

This research deals about Abu Usman al-Mazini’s views and efforts on the construction of the grammar rule, as he is a representative grammarian from the Bashrah school, and this research is important to do in order to reveal a linguist who has a high contribution to the construction of the grammar rule. The type of this research is qualitative research using descriptive and critical analysis. The method of data collection is the al-istima’ method with note-taking technique. The findings are as follows: (1) Abu Usman al-Mazini is strict in taking the analogy and rejects what is not consistent with it from the Arab language and some readings of the Qur'an; (2) Sibawaih obliges i’rab al-raf’i of the word “الرجل” after “أيٌّ” in the al-nida’ as in: يا أيها الرجل, because the word "الرجل" that is intended by the al-nida’, but “أيٌّ” came as an intermediary between "الرجل" and the al-nida’ letter because it is defined by the al-alif wa al-lam, and al-Mazini argues that it may be al-nashab as the adjective in the al-munada al-mufrod in: "يا زيد الظريف". This case indicates that Abu Usman al-Mazini disagrees with Sibawaih's opinion; (3) Al-Mazini denied the al-nakirah ghoiru al-maqshudah in the al-nida’ as: "يا رجلا خذْ بيدي" that sentence is said by the blind man. He does not want that theory to exist within the framework of grammar, this case refers to his extreme opinion; (4) Al-Mazini believes that some asma’u al-af’al are manshubatun with implied verbs, as maf’ulat muthlaqah; for example, هيهات وشتان are maf’ulani muthlaqani for fi’il mahdzuf, and the estimation is "بعُدَ" as if the meaning of both of them is "بُعْدًا", this situation shows his jihad regarding the rules of grammar according to his deep knowledge; (5) Al-Mazini argues that the plural of the feminine gender should be built to al-fathu with لا النافية للجنس, such as: لا مُطيعاتَ لك, with the fathu al-ta’; this phenomenon indicates his unique opinion about the rule of grammar. Abstract

This article aims to examine a 10-day nahwu service program to improve Arabic language skills for students majoring in Arabic Language Education at State University of Makassar. This service program was motivated by the low level of proficiency in nahwu among the majority of students majoring in Arabic Language Education. Sometimes, community service volunteers hold informal discussions related to this subject both in and outside the classroom, but it is still common to find students who do not know about this subject. The background of the type of Islamic boarding school also affects students' abilities in nahwu. The community service methods used include two stages, namely the Preparation stage and the Implementation stage. The preparation stage included several things, namely: Preparation of the community service proposal, Preparation of materials, and Preparation of training facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the implementation stage included: an Initial introduction to the program and its rules, the Beginning stage of the dauroh training, the Training evaluation stage, and the Mentoring stage. Some of the results of the program included: (1) The participants were very enthusiastic in participating in the nahwu dauroh program. They all received certificates from the training activity if they met the specified criteria; (2) The use of the book Matnu al-Ajurumiyyah by Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Dawud al-Shonhaji has successfully improved the participants' knowledge of Arabic grammar. This is because the book contains material that is easy to understand, relevant, systematic, and concise; (3) After the implementation of the nahwu program, there was an improvement in the participants' abilities, from a previous average score of 77.28 to a final score of 91.71.

Abstract

Artikel ini hendak membahas tentang Pelatihan Terjemah Arab-Indonesia bagi Mahasiswi Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab, Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra, Universitas Negeri Makassar. Hal mendasar yang menjadi kegelisahan akademik bagi pengabdi yaitu kurangnya kemampuan para mahasiswi prodi PBA di semester atas tentang wawasan dan teori dalam dunia penerjemahan. Hal itu bisa dibuktikan ketika pengabdi mengadakan tanya jawab kepada para mahasiswi terkait terjemah yang mana kemampuan mereka masih minim, mereka masih buta dalam literasi terjemah. Adapun metode dalam pengabdian ini dilakukan dalam dua tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan dan pelaksanaan. Tahap persiapan meliputi: Persiapan materi, media pembelajaran, serta sarana dan prasarana. Sementara tahap pelaksanaan meliputi: Pengadaan briefing, proses pelatihan terjemah, pengadaan evaluasi, dan pendampingan untuk proses selanjutnya. Adapun hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu:(1) Partisipasi mitra pengabdian dalam kegiatan ini sangat luar biasa dan tekun sekali dalam mengikuti pelatihan. Mereka sangat sigap ketika mendapatkan tugas setelah proses pelatihan selesai, wawasan mereka terkait dunia terjemah juga meningkat secara signifikan; (2) Berlandaskan Instrumen soal yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan gradasi keilmuan para mahasiswi Prodi PBA, mereka berhasil mendapatkan hasil yang memuaskan, yaitu rata-rata nilai mereka di atas angka 90; (3) Setelah dilaksanakan pelatihan terjemah ini terjadi peningkatan dalam maharah al-tarjamah min al-lughoh al-’Arabiyyah ila al-lughoh al-Indonesiyyah bagi para mahasiswi Prodi PBA, FBS, UNM. Hal itu dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata mereka mencapai 92,3, yang mana sebelum diadakan pelatihan rata-rata nilai mereka adalah 72,0. Jadi bisa dikatakan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan PKM ini berhasil dalam meningkatkan keterampilan al-tarjamah bagi para mahasiswi Prodi PBA.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kemampuan para santri di Pondok Pesantren Darul Hasanain, Grogolan, Umbulmartani, Ngemplak, Sleman, Yogyakarta terkait pemahaman fikih yang masih awam, khususnya di kelas Wustho. Hal itu karena, mereka memang dikategorikan sebagai pembelajar pemula, latar belakang sekolah mereka sebelumnya rata-rata dari sekolah umum, yaitu SD, ada juga yang dari SMP, terus mondok di pesantren tersebut. Tujuan dari pengabdaian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan para santri dalam kajian ilmu fikih, khususnya dengan menggunakan kitab Al-Mabadi’ al-Fiqhiyyah. Adapun metode pengabdian yang digunakan meliputi 2 tahap yaitu: Tahap Persiapan dan Tahap Pelaksanaan. Dalam tahap persiapan mencakup beberapa hal yaitu: Persiapan proposal pengabdian, Persiapan bahan ajar, dan Persiapan sarana dan prasarana pelatihan. Sementara pada tahap pelaksanaan meliputi: Tahap pengenalan awal terkait program dan aturannya, Tahap Permulaan dalam pelatihan, Tahap evaluasi, dan Tahap pendampingan. Adapun hasil pengabdian dari program tersebut ialah adanya  peningkatan kemampuan para santri pondok pesantren Darul Hasanain, dari nilai rata-rata yang dicapai sebelumnya yaitu 76,02 pada saat pre-test, lalu pada saat post-test nilai rata-rata mereka berubah menjadi 92,05.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively describe the planning, implementation, and outcomes of efforts to improve students’ mastery of Arabic vocabulary through the use of picture card media in learning activities. This research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. The subjects of this study were 26 fourth-grade students of SDIT Al-Fadiyah Gowa. Data were collected through vocabulary mastery tests as well as teacher and student observation sheets. The planning stage was carried out collaboratively with the teacher by preparing appropriate learning instruments, while the implementation of the actions was systematically monitored using observation guidelines. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ Arabic vocabulary mastery. In the first cycle, the average learning achievement reached 70%. After refining the instructional strategies in the second cycle, the achievement increased to 86%, showing a 16% improvement. These findings demonstrate that the use of picture card media is effective in creating more engaging, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences. Consequently, it contributes positively to enhancing the Arabic vocabulary mastery of fourth-grade students in a measurable and observable manner.

Abstract

This study analyzes the strategy of Arabization of information technology terms in UNESCO's official terminological documents to reveal the Arabic language's response to the development of modern science. This study employs a descriptive–analytical research design using standardized information technology terms extracted from UNESCO’s official terminological documents as the primary data source. The data were collected through systematic documentation and classification of terminological entries, and were analyzed qualitatively using the theoretical framework of taʿrīb and Arabic morphological analysis to identify patterns of linguistic adaptation. The results of the study show three main strategies of Arabization, namely semantic matching through internal Arabic language resources, phonetic-morphological naturalization in accordance with sharaf patterns, and pure borrowing with limited phonetic adaptation. These findings confirm that Arabization in UNESCO documents is flexible and contextual, reflecting a balance between preserving the structure of the Arabic language and the needs of global technology terminology.ners in enhancing the effectiveness of character education in primary schools.

Abstract

This research reveals the phenomenon of al-haal in the book Al-Ghuluwwu wa Atsaruhu fi al-Irhab wa Ifsad al-Mujtama' by Muhammad bin Alawi al-Maliki al-Hasani. This book is very important in correcting deviant ideas about doctrine and the like. The theory of al-haal is used to reveal the Arabic texts in that book, because al-haal plays an important role in revealing the text deeply and throughly, no matter how insignificant it may be in speech, but its role is significant and enormous. This research is qualitative, and the analysis used is descriptive analysis. The method of data collection is listening, reading, and note-taking, and the other method is the purposive sampling method. All of these methods are used to perform the analysis of this research. The results of this research are as follows: (1) There are 15 examples of the al-haal of isim dhohir; there are 5 examples of the al-haal of jumlah; the researcher didn’t find the al-haal of syibhul jumlah (adverb or prepositional phrase); (2) The al-haal of isim dhohir consists of 6 examples of washfun nakiroh and 9 examples of mashdar nakiroh; the case of jumlah consists of 5 examples of jumlah fi’liyyah; (3) The researcher finds three examples of al-haal al-muta’addidah, that phenomenon exists in Arabic texts and it’s permitted by grammarians. (4) The researcher also finds one example of ‘amil al-haal al-mahzufah, due to the presence of al-haal that confirms the meaning of sentence. (5) During the analysis process, the researcher also finds the ‘amil al-haal from ma’na al-fi’il and its type which is isim isyaroh, and there is one example. The researcher analyzes all of these in a purposive sampling method.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of visual media in enhancing learning outcomes for TMMI second-grade students in the Muthola’ah subject at Al-Ikhlas Al-Islamy Pesantren, Kaliaji with the focus includes the effectiveness, advantages, and limitations of visual media. A qualitative approach is employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants include the principal, homeroom teacher, Muthola’ah teacher, and several TMMI second-grade students. The findings indicate that visual media significantly enhances student engagement and facilitates comprehension of the material. The learning process through visual media encompasses three key stages: preparation (planning of media and materials), implementation (core activities utilizing visual media), and evaluation (conducting written and oral assessments, along with formative and summative evaluations). The advantages of visual media include ease of access and creation, effectiveness in conveying visual messages, and assisting teachers in mastering the content. However, limitations exist, such as restricted space for media utilization and a visual appeal that is inferior to audiovisual media. This study recommends the development of more creative and contextually relevant visual-based learning media, as well as the integration of participatory strategies to enhance interactivity in the learning process. Additionally, further research is suggested to compare the effectiveness of visual media with digital media in the context of language learning within Pesantrens.

Abstract

This research aims to demonstrate the influence of the short story Al-Jababiroh by Najib Kaelani on Habiburrahman el Shirazy in the production of his short story entitled Di Atas Sajadah Cinta. With regard to the numerous similarities between the two short stories, it can be argued that they represent a form of inspiration and influence from Najib Kaelani to Habiburraman el Shirazy, particularly in the context of his work entitled Al-Jababiroh. This research employs a comparative literary method, namely the comparison of the works of both authors. In addition, the researcher employs the intertextual theory proposed by Julia Kristeva. In this comparison, the researcher finds that Habiburrahman el Shirazy was creative in developing his work. With regard to this form of creativity, the protagonist of Habiburrahman el Shirazy's short story does not undergo the same experience as the male protagonist of Al-Jababiroh. This divergence can even alter the trajectory of the narrative, ultimately culminating in the male protagonist of Habiburrahman el Shirazy's work proposing to the female protagonist, Afirah. Consequently, it can be posited that the short story entitled Di Atas Sajadah Cinta by Habiburrahman el Shirazy underwent expansion, modification, existence, and defamiliarization as initiated by Julia Kristeva.
