Abstract

Utilization of alternative energy such as wind energy is one solution to be able to produce electrical energy through this wind turbine. The potential for wind energy in Indonesia has an average of 2-7 m/s which can be utilized for renewable energy. The purpose of this taper blade design is to find out the best performance so that the taper blade design with Airfoil NACA 6512 can operate on wind turbines designed for wind speeds in Indonesia. This NACA 6512 airfoil has a high Cl/Cd value for use on taper blades. This design uses the BEM (Blade Element Momentum) method as a simulation performance analysis by entering the results of the blade geometry. Using Solidworks Software to create 3D blade designs. The dimensions of the NACA 6512 taper blade have a radius of 0.8 m, a chord width of 12 cm at the base and 6 cm at the tip of the blade. Has a maximum Cp value of 53% at TSR 6. At a maximum rpm of 788 Rpm has a maximum power of 1149 W. The results of field testing have a maximum charging power of 279.11 W on the first day of testing and the largest average charging is 36.75 W. the power that can be obtained by this taper blade is 439.99 Wh.

Abstract

Water is the source of life, because no living thing can survive without water. We are always trying to get water. One of the most common tools in water treatment is a water pump. In its application, the use of this water pump is used in the Bottled Line Automatic Controller (BLAC) automatic gallon filling machine. As for the place of assembly and this research was carried out at PT. Desalite Tirtamas Technology, Bintaro, Tangerang Selatan. For this Reason, information is needed regarding the perfomance of the water pump on the BLAC engine, to find out the variables that can be improved in order to increase the performance of the BLAC engine itself. The result showed that the increase in the hydraulic power of the pump continuously resulted in an increase in discharge which was influenced by how big the valve was, where the bigger the torque. The highest discharge value at 100% valve opening is 0,00111 and 0,0004773 at 50% valve opening, where the shaft power value at 100% valve opening is 1165,56 watts, and the 50% valve opening is 1049,004 watts. With the most efficient performance at the largest valve opening, 100% valve opening with a value of 31,73 and 19,038 at 50% valve opening.

Abstract

Elevator or elevator is a vertical means of transportation in a multi-storey building, which serves to facilitate human activities in carrying out their routines. This research is a quantitative research with direct observation to the field of documentation, as well as. The result of this research is the hatch door production process at PT. Mitsubishi Jaya Elevator And Escalator which has a production process flow including the preparation process, shearing, turret punching, v - cut, bending, welding, painting, oven processes, quality control, and packing, while the results of the calculation of machine efficiency time at daily output are 33, 3% while the overall is 55.6%.

Abstract

The motor is a unit consisting of various components that are integrated, called the vehicle. one that can support the running of the vehicle is the axle on the front wheel and don't forget to provide a braking system to make it safe when running. Likewise with this study which aims to analyze the design of the shaft, brakes for Honda Revo 110 cc motorcycles in order to meet the required criteria and applicable standards. The type of research used is experimental research, data collection is done directly. From the analysis of the calculations that have been carried out, the results obtained; Shaft Diameter = 17.1 mm, Allowable Normal Stress = 198.27 Mpa, Safety Factor = 2.9. Force on brake lever = 30 N and Diameter of caliper 83 mm

Abstract

Wind speed in Indonesia only ranges from 3 meters/s to 11 meters/s, it is quite difficult to generate electricity on a large scale, it is also what makes the utilization of wind energy still very low. Wind turbine modifications need to be carried out by adjusting to low wind speed conditions to be able to produce optimal electrical energy. Therefore, a HAWT (Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine) blade design was made using NACA airfoils that have a high Cl / Cd value to produce 500 W of power at a wind speed of 1 meter / s – 12 meters / s. The study was conducted in 3 stages, First the calculation stage to determine the radius, chord and twist of the blade. The second stages is initial design of the blades were carried out by simulation using Q-Blade software to determine the NACA airfoil used and find out the coefficient performance and power produced. The last stages of blade design use solidworks software that produces a 3D blade design. The design results produced HAWT blades with Taperless type NACA 4418 airfoils with a blade radius of 0.9 m, chord width of 0.12 m, and a twist angle of 6.92° - 10.08°.

Abstract

Motorcycle is a two-wheeled mode of transportation that is driven by an engine. There are several interrelated components in its use, including a shaft to transmit the rotation generated by the engine and to support balance. The purpose of this study was to determine the calculation of the rear axle of the Yamaha Jupiter MX 135CC. In this study, it can be said that the external load is 401.8 N, where the shaft that receives the bending load will produce a stress that occurs due to the shaft is 108.486 MPa with a diameter of 4.52. It can be said to fail if the stress that occurs is les than the material and the machine element will be said to be safe if the strength of the material is more than the stress that occurs.

Abstract

Currently, motorcycles are a means of transportation that is widely used in Indonesia and even motorcycles are used as a primary need for a company or individual. This is because the price of motorcycles is relatively cheap for most people and also fuel and operational costs are quite affordable. In order for the vehicle to work properly, good components are needed, one of the components is the shaft on the wheels of the vehicle. This shaft serves to support the load of the vehicle itself as well as loads from outside such as, humans or cargo on a motorcycle. The purpose of this study is to find out the diameter that must be used on the front wheel axle of the yamah new jupiter mx 135cc motor. the method used is experimentation. The results of this study obtained the maximum normal voltage value on the shaft with a value of 525 Mpa, a security factor of 1.4, a permissible nprmal voltage of 410.7 Mpa and a shaft diameter used of 11 mm.

Abstract

Intense competition in the industry, especially in the automotive world, is bound to make vehicles better and easier for vehicle users. This includes using the brakes on two-wheeled vehicles. From the calculation results of the front disc brake of the motorcycle Yamaha Vega RR 2014, it can be concluded that several large forces are transmitted for each braking operation, namely from the piston force (Fpiston) = 31.81 Kgf, the force on the piston pressure canvas (F) = 203.66 Kgf (2 canvases) and Braking Force (????????) = 69.71 Kgf. Therefore, the final result of the life calculation for the Yamaha Vega RR 2014 disc brake pads is 800 hours. Assuming that the vehicle is used for an average of 3 hours a day, the service life of disc brake pads can reach 8.8 months.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the percentage of HCL on the rate of corrosion. corrosion, to determine the effect of variations in current strength on the hardness value and microstructure of ST 60 steel. This study used an experimental method including the preparation of tools and materials, specimen making, welding process and corrosion rate testing, micro hardness vicker hardness. Then the highest corrosion rate value was obtained. of 3.6873996123 mm/year. The highest hardness value is at a current of 140 A in the weld metal area with a hardness value of 242.3 HV and the lowest hardness value is at a current of 120 A in the base metal area of ​​169.5 HV. The conclusion in this study is that the higher the current, the lower the corrosion rate will be inversely proportional to the hardness value, where the higher the amperage, the harder the hardness value

Abstract

The construction of metal construction nowadays involves a lot of welding elements, especially in the field of design, but corrosion of metal has a bad impact on welded joints, including a decrease in the strength of the material and damage to the construction. The quenching heat treatment process is also a major factor that greatly influences changes in mechanical properties due to phase changes. This study aims to improve the mechanical properties of construction steel type ST 37 on GTAW welding results with oil cooling media SAE 15W-40, coconut oil and without cooling media (free air). The results showed that the highest hardness test was found in coconut oil cooling media worth 244.4 HV than SAE-40 oil cooling media, coconut oil, without cooling media and raw materials. The lowest corrosion rate value is found in the SAE 15W-40 oil cooling medium worth 0.3545 mmpy compared to other cooling media (.coconut oil, without cooling media) and raw materials.
