Abstract

A Green mustard or Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) is a type of vegetable that has high economic value and has the potential to contain bioactive compounds and nutrients that are useful for increasing immunity in the body. The formulation of the problem obtained is whether there is an interaction between giving POC and types of media on the development and production of pakcoy. The purpose of the experiment was to study and evaluate the response of POC and media types to pakcoy production using hydroponics. The research methodology used a completely randomized design, two factors, namely the concentration of POC (K) and the type of growing media (M). Parameters measured included plant height, leaf area, fresh weight, root length. The data were tested with ANOVA consisting of F Count and BNT Test or Duncen's test if there was a significant effect. The results of the study proved that there was no interaction between the two treatments. However, there was a single effect on media use and the best one was M2 (husk charcoal) which had the highest number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight and root length. The addition of POC concentration of 12 ml/L had a very significant effect on the variation in leaf area observed at 30 days after planting.

Abstract

Pada kegiatan praktikum mata kuliah teknologi pengolahan hasil pertanian mahasiswa jurusan Agribisnis diwajibkan melakukan praktek pengolahan pangan. Kuliner bakso sangat diminati masyarakat karena rasa dan aromanya menarik dan harga terjangkau pembeli juga mengandung gizi yang baik. Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah memberi ketrampilan dan wawasan ilmu dalam bidang teknologi pengolahan pangan dan memotivasi mahasiswa agar berwirausaha serta meningkatkan nilai ekonomi masyarakat. Metode pemberdayaan menggunakan diskusi materi berupa petunjuk praktikum yang dipelajari mahasiswa dan pelatihan kegiatan pengolahan serta pembuatan laporan hasil. Lokasi pelatihan di Laboratorium Agroteknologi dan Laboratorium Peternakan untuk proses pengolahan produk bakso lele, tahu bakso serta gorengan dan penyajian masakan yang diikuti mahasiswa 35 orang. Parameter yang di ukur dalam latihan ini meliputi uji organoleptik rasa, aroma dan kenampakan produk. Hasil sosialisasi dan pelatihan ini adalah Memberi wawasan ilmu tentang Teknologi Pengolahan bahan makanan, Memberi motivasi dalam berwirausaha, meningkatkan ketrampilan dalam proses pembuatan bakso, gorengan, tahu bakso, Menambah IPTEK bidang Swasembada Pangan dan Kemandirian Pangan.

Abstract

Since COVID-19, the demand for turmeric has continued to increase both domestically and for export opportunities. This encourages the continued development of turmeric cultivation. The use of growth regulators can be done to regulate plant growth patterns. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of cytokinin and paclobutrazole on the size of the rhizomes of turmeric plants (Curcuma domestica Val.). This study used a Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 2 treatment factors, which are : Factor I Cytokinin (S) consists of 3 kinds, namely S1: 0 mg/l water, S2: 10 mg/l water and S3: 20 mg/l water while, Factor II: Paclobutrazole (K) consists of 4 kinds, namely: P1: 0 g/l water, P2: 0.50 g/l water, P3: 0.75 g/l water, P4: 1 g/l water. Based on the results of the experiment, it shows that the application of ZPT Cytokinin (BAP) and Paclobutrazole on turmeric plants gives a real interaction effect on the observation of vegetative growth of plant height, while on the harvest observation variable only gives a real interaction effect on the observation of plant biomass and not real on the number of tubers and tuber weight. The concentration and time of application of cytokinin (BAP) and paclobutrazole will affect the nature of stimulation and inhibition of growth, the application of BAP at a concentration of 10-20 mg / l water can increase growth but if combined with paclobutrazole above 0.75 g / l water will actually have an inhibiting effect.

Abstract

Tanaman Jagung manis (Zea mays zaccharata) dibutuhkan konsumen untuk kebutuhan bahan pangan setiap hari dan permintaan pasar tradisional dan swalayan terus menimgkat. Kandungan gizinya tinggi dan disukai karena rasanya manis sangat potensi digunakan untuk aneka olahan dan mempunyai nilai jual yang baik. Tujuan Penelitian adalah mempelajari kadar proksimat jagung manis dari kombinasi perlakuan waktu dan penambahan pupuk nano kaliumsilika. Metode penelitian menggunakan uji kuantitatif kadar proksimat dari kombinasi perlakuan P1 (W0K0), P1 (W1K1), P2 (W2 K2), P3 (W3K3). Hasil percobaan menghasilkan kandungan proksimat berbeda yaitu kadar air (%) : P0 = 82,2, P1= 77,07 , P2= 75,06 , P3= 72,8 ; kadar abu (%) : P0 = 0,69, P1=0,86 , P2= 0,80 , P3=0,83 ; protein (%) : P0 = 2,61, P1= 3, 93 , P2= 3,26 , P3= 4,44 ; lemak (%) : P0 = 7,36, P1= 7,69 , P2= 6,71 , P3= 7,80. Kombinasi perlakuan yang mempunyai kadar protein dan lemak tertinggi pada jagung manis adalah P3 (waktu pemupukan 28 HST dan Konsentrasi pupuk nano kalium silika 5 ml/tanaman dan paling rendah adalah P1(tanpa pemupukan).

Abstract

Introduction: Sweet corn in Indonesia was the main commodity after rice, and it was useful for food, the snack processing industry, semi-finished ingredients, side dishes, and animal feed. Problems with sweet corn farming include limited land, inappropriate cultivation technology, expensive superior seeds, insufficient water availability, fertilizers and pesticides that do not meet needs, as well as expensive and difficult labor, and competition with other commodities. The quality of the corn was that the husk was bright green and slightly moist, the sweet corn tassels were light brown and moist, and the grain texture was dense. The research aimed to analyze the effect of adding humic acid and POC on the growth and yield of sweet corn. Methods: The experimental design was RAKF. The first factor was humic acid (A) consisting of 4 levels: control, 5 kg/ha, 10 kg/ha, and 15 kg/ha. The second factor is POC (P) consisting of 5 levels: control, 60 ml/l, 90 ml/l, 120 ml/l, and 150 ml/l so there are 20 experimental combinations. Analysis used the F count test, 5% BNT test, and 5% DMRT test. Results: In the analysis of plant height, number of leaves, and weight of corn with and without husks, the best combination was A3P4.The P4 level (150 ml/L) has the highest level of sweetness but is not significantly different, the degree of sweetness was 16.25 brix. Addition of humic acid at a concentration of 15 kg/Ha. Produces a sweetness degree of 18.35 brix. Conclusion: The results of the study indicated a significant influence from the combination of treatments, as well as an interaction between the experimental treatments. The most effective combination was A3P4, which involved a humic acid concentration of 15 kg/ha and a POC dose of 150 ml/L. This combination yielded the best results for the tested parameters and sweetness levels.

Abstract

Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) is known as a plant whose calyx contain high levels of antioxidant bioactive compounds and good inhibitory power against free radicals. However, other parts of the rosella plant have not yet been utilized for their antioxidant content and activity. The aim of this research is to compare the profiles of essential oils of parts of the rosella plant (seeds, leaves and flower petals) and their antioxidant activity. This research method begins with the process of extracting essential oils using the water-steam distillation method. Furthermore, the profile of the essential oil is known from the results of yield calculations and characterization using the GC-MS instrument. The antioxidant activity was tested using the DPPH method. The yield of essential oils obtained was 0.0107% for seeds, 0.0087% for leaves and 0.0136% for flower petals. GC-MS characterization shows that the most abundant chemical components contained in the essential oils of seeds, leaves, and flower petals are fatty acid compounds (2-propanoic acid, butanoic acid, hexanoic acid) and esters (neopentyl isobutyrate). The results of the antioxidant activity test showed the IC50 value for each essential oil, namely, seeds: 30.15 μg/ml, leaves: 171.27 μg/ml and flower petals: 126.58 μg/ml. The compound characteristics obtained showed the best results for rosella seed essential oil, this was supported by the fairly high antioxidant activity test results IC50 <50 μg/ml. Keywords: Antioxidant activity, Characterization, Essential oils, IC50, Yield.

Abstract

Hibiscus sabdariffa (Roselle) is known to have a strong antioxidant compound. Thus, the calyx becomes the most important area to research. Another part of this plant that was starting to be known for its benefits is rosella seeds. Roselle seeds are a source of fat-soluble antioxidants. The aim of this study was to investigate the antioxidant activity of Roselle Seed Ethanol Extract (RSEE) with the DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2 Picrylhidrazyl) radical scavenging method. This research begins by doing the extraction of Roselle seeds using ethanol (96%) as a solvent and then assessing the antioxidant activity (Radical Scavenging Activity/RSA) of the extract, which is compared with the ascorbic acid standard at several concentrations (5-200 ppm). Antioxidant activity was assessed with DPPH Radical Scavenging using UV-Vis spectrophotometer and IC50 value parameters. The results of this study were the absorbance of DPPH from spectrophotometer at 517 nm was 0,824 (purple color). The absorbance of RSEE and ascorbic acid at 5 ppm to 200 ppm, respectively 0.523-0.124 and 0.594-0.112. The antioxidant activity (RSA) of the RSEE and ascorbic acid, respectively was  57.93% and 59.24%. The IC50 value of RSEE was 30.158 μg/ml and as comparison is ascorbic acid, the IC50 value was 26.948 μg/ml. Thus, the antioxidant activity of roselle seeds ethanol extract (RSEE) belongs to a very strong category (<50 μg /ml). This is due to the presence of several phenolic compounds and unsaturated fatty acid derivatives.

Abstract

Kandungan tepung wortel meliputi beta karoten, serat, protein, lemak, vitamin dan mineral serta zat bioaktif antioksidan. Blanching adalah metode proses pemanasan cepat untuk menginaktivasi enzim yang umum dilakukan dengan suhu kurang dari 100°C, dapat dilakukan dengan air, uap dan energi microwave. Tujuan penelitian adalah mempelajari efek blanching terhadap kandungan proksimat pada tepung wortel. Metode penelitian adalah uji kuantitatif dengan parameter kadar proksimat meliputi kadar air, kadar abu, lemak, protein, dan serat. Perlakuan percobaan ada 3 jenis yaitu tanpa blanching, blanching kukus dan rebus selama 10 menit. Hasil analisa proksimat pada tepung wortel tanpa blanching (TB) berturutan yaitu kadar air kadar abu, protein, lemak, serat dalam (%) yaitu 9,45; 3,21; 7,56; 4,23; 17,35, tepung BK yaitu 7,36; 2,19; 9,99; 5,87; 20,41, dan tepung BR yaitu 8,15; 2,98; 8,12; 5,12; 18,10. Jadi pengaruh blanching mempertahankan kadar proksimat lebih tinggi dibanding tanpa blanching, yang paling baik adalah dengan metode kukus menghasilkan tepung wortel yang tinggi kadar proksimatnya.

Abstract

Rosella dapat tumbuh dengan subur di Indonesia terutama daerah dataran tinggi,. Tanaman ini sangat dikenal saat ini karena kelopak bunga rosella dapat digunakan sebagai minuman kesehatan yang dapat menyembuhkan berbagai penyakit seperti hipertensi, diabetes, dan diuretik. Permasalahan yang belum dilakukan penelitian adalah kandungan mineral pada organ tanaman sebab setelah panen raya tanaman ini akan di cabut sehingga limbahnya berupa batang, akar, daun tidak banyak digunakan. Penelitian bertujuan mempelajari kandungan mineral pada batang, daun, akar, biji, kelopak bunga. Metode yang digunakan yaitu AAS, Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil secara berurutan Kadar mineral bunga : Kalium (K): 1456 mg/100g; Magnesium (Mg): 58 mg/100g; Kalsium (Ca): 337 mg/100g; Fosfor (P): 115 mg/100g; Besi (Fe): 2,3 mg/100g; Seng (Zn): 1,4 mg/100g. Kadar mineral biji : Kalium (K): 1287 mg/100g; Magnesium (Mg): 76 mg/100g; Kalsium (Ca): 225mg/100g; Fosfor (P): 165 mg/100g; Besi (Fe): 3,3mg/100g; Seng (Zn): 2,1 mg/100g. Kadar mineral daun : Kalium (K): 1.668mg/100g; Magnesium (Mg): 115 mg/100g; Kalsium (Ca): 424 mg/100g; Fosfor (P): 236 mg/100g; Besi (Fe): 4,3 mg/100g; Seng (Zn): 3,6 mg/100g.
