Abstract

The study focused on the development of insurance in Indonesia from time to time, with a review of its definitions and uses, which can be interpreted as an agreement in which the insurer binds himself to the insured by receiving a premium, to compensate for losses, or not to obtain the expected benefits, which can be borne due to events which is not known in advance. In order to get insurance coverage for risks that may occur, the insured must pay a premium to the insurance company within a certain period of time. Insurance in general means security, compensation, guarantee, protection. Insurance is a transfer of risk by paying premiums or fees (a certain amount) with a guarantee to get compensation in the form of benefits or packages (compensation) in the event of a certain loss (special loss) due to a risk (including the risk of illness). There are two essential elements in insurance, namely risk transfer and loss sharing. Insurance from an economic point of view is a method of reducing risk by moving and combining protection against financial losses. From another point of view, a business for example, is a company whose main business is receiving or selling services, transferring risks from other parties, and obtaining profits by sharing risks among a number of its customers. This study uses a literature review which is part of a qualitative study, which is related to the subject of insurance research in Indonesia.

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is important to apply to hospital staff. This research aims to determine the simultaneous and partial influence of psychological capital and affective commitment on OCB. Respondents were 196 officers from two hospitals in Indonesia. The sampling method uses stratified random sampling. The data analysis method uses multiple linear regression. Data was processed with the help of Jamovi 2.3.28 software. The research results found that psychological capital and affective commitment had a significant positive effect on OCB both partially and simultaneously. Hospital management can increase the voluntary behavior of its staff in working beyond formal rules by increasing psychological capital such as self-efficacy, hope, optimism, resilience. Factors that increase affective commitment also need to be implemented so that officers' OCB increases, followed by better service provided. Future researchers can limit the study population to certain areas and combine private and government hospitals to obtain greater generalization. Future researchers can add other variables such as work motivation and job satisfaction to the simultaneous and partial effects.

Abstract

Philosophy enriches and dynamizes a science in its development. The choice of a good philosophical system becomes an unproductive debate but is essential in gaining an understanding of the importance of developing a coherent and comprehensive framework of thought to understand social phenomena. This research is a scientific reflection on the question of the best choice of philosophical systems and the belief in the existence of absolute and relativistic philosophy. This scientific reflection uses a qualitative narrative method in a literature review to answer the research question. Based on the research results, the author sees that a philosophical system has a specificity in contributing to the field of life and science independently. The author also provides a review of answers to the choice of a philosophical system that is suitable for the Doctoral program in Computer Science, namely Information Systems. The answer to the existence of a coherent philosophical system that underlies human wisdom is presented by the author in this paper. This scientific reflection is expected to contribute to the science of knowledge, especially the philosophy of science and the application of research stages in the field of Computer Science. Further research needs to be done to obtain the accuracy of a philosophical system that is suitable for the research topic and other fields of science.

Abstract

This research investigates the role of virtualization technology in enhancing operational cost efficiency for Indonesian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), specifically Internet Service Providers (ISPs). A quantitative approach, utilizing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) version 2.0, was employed to analyze data collected from 68 respondents representing 216 Indonesian SME ISPs. The study focused on the relationship between virtualization technology planning, adaptation capability, server consolidation services, and operational cost effectiveness. The findings demonstrate that adaptability to virtualization technology is the most significant factor influencing operational cost efficiency. Effective implementation requires careful planning and a proactive approach to adapting to the technology's demands. Server consolidation services play a crucial role in optimizing resource utilization and reducing costs while virtualization technology offers substantial benefits, SMEs should carefully assess their specific needs and resources before implementation. Factors such as infrastructure, skills, and business objectives should be evaluated to ensure successful adoption and maximize cost savings. This research provides a foundation for further exploration into the impact of virtualization technology on SMEs. Future studies could investigate the applicability of these findings in different contexts, such as other industry sectors or regions. Additionally, examining the long-term effects of virtualization technology adoption and the potential for scalability could offer valuable insights. Further research could also focus on the challenges and opportunities associated with virtualization technology adoption in SMEs with varying sizes and resources.
