Abstract

This study examines the impact of digital transformation on diversity and inclusion (D&I) within Human Resource (HR) practices, focusing on how AI and data-driven tools enhance recruitment, performance evaluation, and employee engagement. Through a qualitative case study of HR departments in Indonesia, key findings reveal that digital tools reduce biases in hiring and foster a more inclusive work environment. However, challenges such as algorithmic bias and depersonalization of employee experiences were also identified, indicating the need for a balanced approach. This study contributes to understanding the practical applications of digital transformation in D&I, offering recommendations for HR departments to conduct regular audits of AI tools and adopt hybrid models that integrate both digital and human-centered practices. Future research should expand on these findings by exploring diverse cultural contexts and the long-term effects of digital HR practices on inclusivity. This research underscores the importance of ethical AI use and provides valuable insights for creating inclusive, diverse workplaces.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how organizations integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and human judgment within employee performance appraisal systems to achieve outcomes that are fair, efficient, and contextually informed. Using a qualitative case study approach involving three organizations based in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Singapore, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, internal document analysis, and observations of performance review panels. Each organization utilized AI-driven human resource management platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors and IBM Watson Talent Insights, while maintaining significant human involvement in final appraisal decisions. Thematic analysis revealed five major themes: trust in AI, human override, fairness, emotional fit, and ethical concerns. The findings indicate that although AI enhances consistency and efficiency, qualitative dimensions such as leadership, collaboration, and cultural alignment still require human interpretation. The study also introduces a hybrid appraisal model that combines AI and human scores, adjusted by an ethical risk coefficient. These results contribute empirical insights into contemporary appraisal practices and emphasize the importance of algorithmic transparency and ethical sensitivity in the implementation of AI-based systems within human resource management.

Abstract

This study investigates the dynamics of Growth Mindset, HR's Role, Engagement or Employee Participation, and Continuous Learning Cultures within PT. Teluk Luas. Using quantitative methods and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Smart PLS, the research explores direct and indirect relationships among these variables. The findings reveal that Growth Mindset significantly influences Engagement or Employee Participation and Continuous Learning Cultures, emphasizing the role of a growth-oriented mindset in fostering employee engagement and a culture of continuous learning. Additionally, while HR's Role directly affects Engagement or Employee Participation but not Continuous Learning Cultures, its significant indirect effect on Continuous Learning Cultures through Engagement or Employee Participation underscores the pivotal role of HR in enhancing engagement, thereby contributing to a conducive environment for continuous learning. These insights provide valuable implications for organizational strategies aimed at cultivating a dynamic and learning-oriented workplace culture.
