Abstract

This research analyzes effective managerial strategies in developing Islamic boarding school curricula to prevent radicalism. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach focusing on two Islamic boarding schools in Banten Province: Al-Mizan Cikole and Daar Falah Mandalawangi. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and document analysis with stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results show that the curriculum implemented is integrative, comprehensive, and independent, fostering positive interactions between students, teachers (ustadz), and religious leaders (kyai) in the Islamic boarding school community. Kyai and their administrators serve as role models, and mosques act as centers of activity where no radical ideology is taught or spread. Curriculum planning and content reflect collective efforts to prevent radicalism, providing significant benefits to the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools. The management program for curriculum development to prevent internal and external radicalism has been implemented and carried out systematically from primary education to higher education. It is recommended that the integrative and comprehensive curriculum approach be maintained and continuously improved. Regular training and workshops for teachers and kyai should improve their anti-radicalism education skills. Collaboration with experts and external institutions must be fostered to enrich the curriculum with diverse perspectives. A continuous monitoring and evaluation mechanism must be established to assess the effectiveness of the curriculum in preventing radicalism and make necessary adjustments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of service quality and student satisfaction in the context of higher education, with a focus on the Indonesian student population in Malaysia. A quantitative approach was used with regression and correlation analysis. The Higher Education Service Quality Model (HESQUAL) was used to measure service quality, while student satisfaction was assessed using the SERVQUAL model. The study's findings indicate that, first, perceived service quality is at a high level (M = 3.98). Second, student satisfaction is at a moderate level (M = 3.66). Third, service quality has a significant positive contribution to student satisfaction (r = 0.358). These results suggest that although higher education institutions offer high-quality services, student satisfaction remains at a moderate level, indicating a need for improvement. Improving service quality is essential to improving student satisfaction. Institutions should focus on specific aspects of service delivery that directly affect student experience. These findings suggest that educational institutions should prioritize enhancing aspects of service reliability, responsiveness, and empathy, while also encouraging further research on non-service factors that collectively impact student satisfaction.

Abstract

One of the important things that must be considered in the development or integration of Islamic values in Islamic education management is the curriculum. The purpose of writing this paper is to analyze the verses of the Qur'an related to curriculum management in Islamic educational institutions. Through the literature study method, this study analyzes Surah Ali Imran verses 190-191, which can be used as a guideline in developing a curriculum integrated with Islamic values. The scope of the curriculum analyzed in this study is related to the objectives and content of the curriculum. There are three main characteristics that must be integrated in relation to the objectives of the Islamic education curriculum, namely the character of dhikr (spirituality), the character of fikr (critical thinking), and amal pious (beneficial actions). The development of curriculum content based on the three characters that are the objectives of the curriculum includes Islamic knowledge, general knowledge, community service projects, and physical development. The results of the analysis show that the objective of Islamic education curriculum management is to form individuals who are not only knowledgeable but also have good morals and are able to make positive contributions to society.

Abstract

Amid the growing demands of educational modernization, madrasas are expected to balance academic excellence with the internalization of spiritual values. However, this effort is often hindered by partial and context-sensitive management approaches. Existing studies also tend to overlook the Madrasa Tsanawiyah (MTs) level and lack a comprehensive management perspective. This study aims to analyze the management strategy of Islamic education at MTs Negeri 1 Pandeglang, explore the central role of leadership, and formulate a conceptual model for sustainable quality improvement. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected over six months through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, documentation, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and SaldaƱa. The findings reveal three integrated strategic pillars supporting madrasa success. First, collaborative-participatory management revitalizes the principle of shura, fostering collective ownership among stakeholders. Second, visionary-religious leadership combines transformational leadership with spiritual role modeling (uswatun hasanah). Third, the systematic internalization of Islamic values builds a holistic quality culture by integrating Total Quality Management (TQM) with character development (akhlakul karimah). This study offers an empirically grounded and contextually relevant conceptual model that can serve as a practical reference for policymakers and practitioners to enhance the sustainable quality of madrasa education.
