Abstract

Digital flipbook learning media can be used on material examples of biodiversity because it can display descriptions and images needed in the exploration of Indonesia's biodiversity, and in this study, researchers provided information on the diversity of Nepenthes spp. in the forests of West Kalimantan, the purpose of the study was to determine the feasibility of digital flipbook media Nepenthes spp. The form of research used in this study is research and development or research and development (R&D). This research and development adopts the development model developed by Alessi and Trollip, which refers to the production of a multimedia product for learning. In this study, three aspects are assessed by experts, namely media aspects, material aspects, and language aspects; the percentage of validator assessments in the media aspect is 91% with very valid criteria, in the material aspect is 90% with very valid criteria, and in the language aspect is 83% with very valid criteria, and based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the digital flipbook learning media on biodiversity material has very valid criteria and is suitable for use as a learning medium. Abstrak. Media pembelajaran flipbook digital dapat digunakan pada materi contoh keanekaragaman hayati karena dapat menampilkan deskripsi dan gambar yang diperlukan dalam eksplorasi keanekaragaman hayati Indonesia, dan dalam penelitian ini peneliti memberikan informasi keanekaragaman Nepenthesspp. yang ada di hutan Kalimantan Barat, tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kelayakan media flipbook digital Nepenthes spp. kalimantan barat sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi Keanekaragaman Hayati  di kelas X SMA, Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah adalah penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D), Penelitian dan pengembangan ini mengadopsi model pengembangan yang dikembangkan oleh Alessi dan Trollip, dimana model pengembangan ini merujuk pada menghasilkan suatu produk multimedia untuk pembelajaran. Pada penelitian ini terdapat tiga aspek yang jadi penilaian para ahli yaitu aspek media, aspek materi dan aspek bahasa, persentase penilaian validator pada aspek media yaitu 91% dengan kriteria Sangat Valid, pada aspek materi yaitu 90% dengan kriteria Sangat Valid, dan pada aspek bahasa yaitu 83% dengan kriteria Sangat Valid, dan Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pebelajaranFlipbook digital materi keaneragaman hayati memiliki kriteria sangat validdan layak untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

Selama bertahun-tahun, masyarakat Melayu Ketapang telah memanfaatkan jamu yang terbuat dari berbagai jenis tumbuhan untuk mempercepat pemulihan setelah melahirkan. Sebagai upaya untuk mengenalkan dan memperkenalkan tradisi tersebut, proses edukasi dilakukan melalui media buku saku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kevalidan dan menilai respons siswa terhadap media buku saku yang dikembangkan. Analisis (analysis), desain (design), pengembangan (development), implementasi (implementation), dan evaluasi (evaluation) merupakan lima langkah yang membentuk model ADDIE yang digunakan dalam Research and Development (R&D). Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMAN 5 Simpang Hilir. Dengan menggunakan skala Likert dengan rentang 1-5, analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk memeriksa hasil penelitian dengan melihat skor lembar validasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kevalidan materi mencapai 91,95% dengan kategori sangat layak, kevalidan bahasa 92,22% juga termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak, dan kevalidan media 97,33% dinilai sangat layak. Uji coba skala kecil menunjukkan respons sebesar 84,25%, sementara uji coba skala besar mencatatkan angka 87,75%. Berdasarkan temuan yang sangat positif ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran tersebut layak digunakan oleh pendidik dan peserta didik dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

Teacher interviews revealed a lack of student enthusiasm during lessons, particularly on the topic of the human circulatory system. The media commonly used—student worksheets (LKPD) and textbooks—were considered somewhat helpful but insufficiently engaging due to their monotonous nature. Teachers also expressed the need for electronic learning media to diversify instructional methods. In response, this study developed an educational game using the Baamboozle webtool, selected for its ease of use and interactivity. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the validity of the educational game and assess student responses to its use. A Research and Development (R&D) approach was employed, following the Research-Development-Research (R-D-R) model. Data were collected through expert validation and student response questionnaires. Validation results showed high levels of validity across media design (98.18%), content (93.33%), and language (88%), all categorized as “very valid.” Student responses were also highly positive, with an average score of 92.47%. These findings indicate that the Baamboozle webtool-based educational game on the human circulatory system is highly valid and well-received by students, suggesting its effectiveness as a digital learning medium.

Abstract

Magic School Bus is one of the animation products that can be used to improve students' skills in understanding science subject matter. The purpose of this researcher is to find out the concept of biology, the suitability of the concept with scientific literature, and biology learning materials related to the concept of biology in the animated cartoon Magic School Bus. This research is a Library Research or library research. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets, concept data cards, expert verification sheets, and research instrument validation sheets. Data analysis was carried out by looking for the biology concepts contained in the minutes of each episode along with scientific literature, as well as biology learning materials related to the concept of biology in the animated cartoon. Then the biology concepts obtained were verified by material experts first to determine whether or not the concept was appropriate. So that 83 biology concepts were found in animated cartoons and also scientific literature concepts, 2 of which were not in accordance with scientific literature. The results obtained were that the percentage of the suitability of the concept of biology in this animated cartoon with the concept of scientific literature was 97.60% with the category Very Appropriate. Biology learning materials related to the concept of biology in the animated cartoon "Magic School Bus" season 1, are seen based on the independent curriculum syllabus or better known as the Learning Flow and Objectives (ATP). So it is known that there are 9 biology materials contained in this animated cartoon, namely the Human Digestive System, Human Immune System, Human Respiratory System, Viruses and Bacteria, Ecosystem, Water Cycle, Adaptation of Living Things, Reproductive System, and Human Circulatory System. Abstrak. Magic School Bus merupakan salah satu produk dari animasi yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam memahami materi pelajaran IPA. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui konsep biologi, kesesuaian konsep dengan  literatur ilmiah, serta materi pembelajaran biologi yang berkaitan dengan konsep biologi pada kartun animasi Magic School Bus. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Library Research atau penelitian kepustakaan dan Studi Dokumentasi. Kajian kepustakaan adalah mencari beragam informasi yang berasal dari pustaka. Berupa artikel jurnal, buku, literatur, maupun publikasi ilmiah lainnya. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi, kartu data konsep, lembar verifikasi ahli, dan lembar validasi instrumen penelitian. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mencari konsep biologi yang terkandung di menit-menit setiap episodenya beserta literatur ilmiah, juga materi pembelajaran biologi yang berkaitan dengan konsep biologi pada kartun animasi tersebut.  Kemudian konsep-konsep biologi yang di dapat, di verifikasi oleh 3 orang ahli materi biologi terlebih dahulu untuk mengetahui sesuai atau tidak sesuainya konsep biologi yang terdapat dalam kartun animasi tersebut dengan konsep biologi yang diutarakan para ahli bedasarkan jurnal atau artikel ilmiah. Sehingga ditemukan 83 konsep biologi pada kartun animasi dan juga konsep literatur ilmiahnya, 2 konsep biologi diantaranya tidak sesuai dengan literatur ilmiah. Hasil yang didapat yaitu diketahui persentase tingkat kesesuaian konsep biologi kartun animasi ini dengan konsep literatur ilmiah yaitu sebanyak 97,60 % dengan kategori Sangat Sesuai. Materi pembelajaran biologi yang berkaitan dengan konsep biologi pada kartun animasi “Magic School Bus” season 1, dilihat berdasarkan silabus kurikulum merdeka atau lebih dikenal dengan Alur dan Tujuan Pembelajaran (ATP). Sehingga diketahui terdapat 9 materi biologi yang terdapat dalam kartun animasi ini yaitu Sistem Pencernaan Manusia, Sistem Kekebalan Tubuh Manusia, Sistem Pernafasan Manusia, Virus dan Bakteri, Ekosistem,Siklus Air, Adaptasi Makhluk Hidup, Sistem Reproduksi, dan Sistem Peredaran Darah Manusia.

Abstract

West Kalimantan has different types of  wetlands  spread  across highland  and lowland areas  , including rivers, swamps, coasts,  mangrove forests, lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and paddy. One of these areas is Mempawah Regency, which is the habitat of various aquatic plants. One of the prominent species in this area is Purun, a type of weed from the Cyperaceae family. This study explores the potential of Purun plants as   a source of contextual learning and its use by the community in Segedong District. The method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, identification, documentation, and questionnaires to teachers. This study identified two types of Purun, namely the rat Purun (Eleocharis dulcis) and the lake Purun (Lepironia articulata), which are used by residents in two villages to making craft products.  This plant has great potential to be integrated into   the junior high school biology curriculum, particularly in biodiversity, classification, and ecology materials.   The results of the evaluation showed a positive perception of Purun as   a learning resource: clarity of potential (72.91%), clarity of goals (66.66%), clarity of purpose (70.83%), clarity of information (68.75%), exploration clarity (75%), and yield clarity (70.83%).

Abstract

Telaga Air Village in Kuching, Sarawak, possesses abundant fisheries and aquaculture resources. The Institut Kemahiran Islam Malaysia Sarawak (IKMAS), as a center for education and community engagement, can foster students’ entrepreneurial spirit by leveraging these local potentials. One concrete effort is providing training in the diversification of fermented food products. This program included the introduction of fish-based fermented products, practical training in fermented sambal production, packaging techniques, sterilization, and evaluation through participant response surveys. Results showed that 100% of participants had never attended similar training. About 83% found the material new and insightful, 72.5% considered it easy to replicate, and 87.5% rated the material delivery as clear. Additionally, 87.5% appreciated the accessibility of the venue, and the organizing committee received a 90% satisfaction rating. Overall, the average participant satisfaction level was 83.75%, categorized as excellent.

Abstract

Several areas in Sanggau Regency have fish diversity that has the potential to be developed as a biology learning resource, one of which is Lake Padong Pangeran Pati. This study aims to identify the types of fish found in the lake and analyze their potential and suitability as a biology learning resource. The method used is descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling techniques. The analysis was carried out through direct observation and expert assessment of the relevance of the fish potential to biology subject matter at the junior and senior high school levels. The results showed that Lake Padong has fish diversity relevant to several biology topics such as classification of living things, ecology, biodiversity, as well as reproductive systems and animal tissue, with a feasibility percentage of 69.43%. This potential is considered feasible to be used as an alternative learning resource. The study recommends utilizing local potential in contextual learning to enhance students' understanding of biological concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an ethnobotanical encyclopedia of traditional household utensils in Sambas Regency as a local wisdom-based biology learning resource. The research used a modified Research and Development (R&D) 4D model—Define, Design, Develop—excluding the Disseminate stage. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, student response questionnaires, expert validation, and development trials. The findings revealed 15 plant species from 13 families commonly used by the local community, such as bamboo and rattan, for making traditional household items. The encyclopedia was developed based on ethnobotanical identification, plant classification, morphology, and usage. Created using Canva, the encyclopedia was validated by material, media, and language experts and tested on Grade X students at MAN 1 Sambas. Validation results showed very high scores from material experts (92.19%) and media experts (84.33%), and valid results from language experts (77.78%). Student response trials showed good results at both small-scale (61.02%) and large-scale (73.10%) levels. In conclusion, the developed encyclopedia is suitable for use as a local wisdom-integrated biology learning resource.

Abstract

Tradisi yang masih dipertahankan oleh Suku Melayu Sambas hingga saat ini, adalah ritual pernikahan dan kelahiran bayi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi lokal tanaman yang dijadikan sumber belajar pada materi Biologi SMA. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat 49 jenis tanaman dari devisi Spermatophyta yang digunakan pada ritual pernikahan dan kelahiran bayi. Jenis tanaman tersebut adalah padi, kelapa, sirih, pinang, rotan, kemiri, ketan putih, kunyit, langgir, mawar, bougenvile, jeruk purut, terung, serai wangi, singkong, pandan, daun pacar, jeruk nipis, nanas, pisang raja sereh, bambu gombong, kentang, nangka, mentimun, kacang panjang, kubis, cabe merah, cabe rawit, selada, kacang kedelai, tomat, wortel, mengkudu, asam jawa, tembakau, mangga, pisang ambon, jahe, kencur, ketumbar, hanjuang, imbali, ribu-ribu, bunga lawang, pala, cengkeng, temulawak, tebu dan gambir. Potensi tanaman pada ritual Pernikahan dan Tradisi Kelahiran Bayi sesuai dengan materi pokok kelas X, XI, dan XII yaitu materi Keanekaragaman Hayati, Klasifikasi Makhluk Hidup, Jaringan Tumbuhan, Plantae, dan Bioteknologi. Tanaman pada ritual Pernikahan dan Tradisi Kelahiran Bayi Suku Melayu Sambas mempunyai potensi sangat layak sebagai sumber belajar Biologi SMA berbasis budaya.
