Abstract

This study aims to investigate the pedagogical impact of PowerPoint as an instructional medium on students’ achievement in Indonesian language learning, particularly in mastering personal and official letter writing. Adopting a quasi-experimental design with a pretest posttest control group, the research involved a population of 243 seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 20 Bengkulu, from which 62 were purposively selected and assigned to experimental and control classes. Data were obtained through standardized achievement tests and analyzed using non-parametric statistics, including the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the Mann-Whitney U Test, following normality and homogeneity assessments. The results demonstrate that students in the experimental class, who were instructed using PowerPoint, exhibited significantly higher learning gains than their counterparts in the control class (p < 0.05). These findings underscore the effectiveness of PowerPoint in fostering comprehension and performance in Indonesian language instruction, highlighting its potential as a practical and engaging medium to support innovative classroom practices.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the Explicit Instruction learning model on the poetry writing skills of seventh-grade students at SMPN 19 Bengkulu, Indonesia. Employing a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group, the study involved 30 students divided into experimental and control classes. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests to measure learning outcomes, supported by instrument validation and reliability testing (r₁₁ = 0.902). The results indicate that students in the experimental group achieved significantly higher post-test scores (M = 82.92) compared to the control group (M = 71.88). Independent sample t-test results confirmed a significant difference (t = 5.043, p < 0.05), suggesting that the Explicit Instruction model fosters more substantial improvement in poetry writing than conventional teaching methods. These findings underscore the pedagogical value of structured, teacher-guided approaches in enhancing literary expression among junior high school learners. Implications for curriculum design and teacher practice are discussed, alongside recommendations for future research.

Abstract

Folklore plays an essential role in preserving cultural identity and transmitting values across generations, yet Bengkulu folklore remains underexplored in academic studies. This research aimed to analyze the forms and intrinsic elements of selected folktales from Bengkulu in order to identify their literary structures and cultural significance. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through documentation of ten Bengkulu folktales and analyzed using structural and literary methods to examine themes, plots, characters, settings, points of view, language styles, and moral messages. The findings revealed that Bengkulu folklore predominantly takes the form of legends and fairy tales that integrate historical memory, mythical imagination, and moral instruction. Intrinsic elements such as conflict-driven plots, royal and supernatural characters, and culturally rooted settings were identified as central features that convey values of justice, wisdom, resilience, and harmony with nature. These results indicate that folklore serves not only as a repository of cultural heritage but also as a pedagogical resource that can be integrated into character education and cultural literacy programs. The novelty of this study lies in its systematic literary analysis of Bengkulu folklore, which has been rarely addressed in prior research, thereby contributing new insights into Indonesian oral traditions and their relevance in modern education. The findings imply that folklore should be strategically incorporated into school curricula and community-based cultural preservation initiatives to strengthen national identity and foster moral development among younger generations.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the function and educational values ​​contained in the Tunggu Betunggu traditional ceremony in the Serawai Tribe community in Simpang Village, Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. The study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a folklore approach to explore the cultural and social meaning of the tradition. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that the Tunggu Betunggu ceremony not only functions as a religious ritual but also as an educational medium that conveys divine, social, and moral values ​​to the younger generation. The value of divine education is reflected in the practice of praying and giving thanks, which strengthens the spiritual relationship with God. Social values ​​include cooperation, sharing sustenance, and harmony, which strengthens solidarity and harmony in society. Meanwhile, moral values ​​are taught through respect for ancestors, respect for others, and responsibility. This ceremony plays an important role in preserving cultural identity, strengthening social solidarity, and shaping the moral character of the next generation of the Serawai Tribe.

Abstract

This research is motivated by Indonesian language learning which requires each student to master four language skills, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. In children with dyslexia or reading difficulties, the implementation efforts made by the 7th grade teacher of the Bengkulu City Special School 05 so that the child continues to master language skills despite having difficulty reading. This study aims to describe the methods used by teachers in Indonesian language learning so that dyslexic children can master reading skills. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and finally verification. The results of the study concluded that the implementation of learning in dyslexic children was preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The Indonesian language learning method used by the 7th grade teacher of SLB N 05 Bengkulu City in dyslexic children is the lecture method, the audiolingual method, the skimming method, and the picture and picture cooperative method.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini ialah bagaimana bentuk kesalahan penggunaan ejaan pada Surat Kabar Radar Bengkulu dan apa faktor- faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya kesalahan penggunaan ejaan pada Surat Kabar Radar Bengkulu. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk kesalahan penggunaan ejaan pada Surat Kabar Radar Bengkulu dam mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya kesalahan penggunaan ejaan pada Surat Kabar Radar Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Sumber data berupa surat kabar Radar Bengkulu edisi April 2022, data dalam penelitian berupa kutipan dan dokumentasi yang ada pada surat kabar, informan atau subjek penelitiannya ialah Jurnalis Radar Bengkulu. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa observasi, wawancara, da dokumentasi. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan teknik trianggulasi. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan Penarikan Kesimpulan dan Verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa didapatkan hasil penelitian terhadap Surat Kabar edisi Radar Bengkulu dengan 19 data yang telah dikumpulkan bahwa terdapat 18 kesalahan huruf, yaitu 5 kesalahan penulisan huruf miring dan 13 kesalahan penggunaan huruf kapital. Ada juga terdapat kesalahan kata 34 kesalahan kata, yaitu 9 kesalahan kata dasar, 4 kesalahan kata sapaan, 13 kesalahan kata depan, 2 kesalahan kata partikel, 1 kesalahan kata berulang, 1 kesalahan kata singkatan atau akronim, 3 kesalahan angka dan lambang bilangan, dan terdapat 10 kesalahan tanda baca, yaitu 4 kesalahan tanda koma, 2 kesalahan tanda titik, dan 4 kesalahan tanda hubung. Adapun faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya kesalahan penggunaan ejaan pada Surat Kabar Radar Bengkulu, yaitu kurangnya ketelitian sang penulis dan adanya keterbatasan waktu.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk Mendeskripsikan bentuk dan faktor interferensi bahasa Lembak terhadap bahasa Indonesia pada teks karangan narasi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan menggunakan data analisis kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini, teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu studi observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Setelah mengumpulkan data yang berkaitan dengan penelitian maka ditemukan data berupa interferensi fonologi yang dibedakan menjadi dua macam terdiri dari pengurangan huruf dan interferensi pergantian huruf. Yang kedua adalah interferensi morfologi telah ditemukan data berupa interferensi morfologi prefiks yaitu penggunaan prefix me-, ber-, per-, dank e-. , interferensi morfologi sufiks yaitu imbuhan dengan akhiran –an, -kan, -nya, interferensi morfologi infiks yaitu yang merujuk pada kata kerja seperti kata ngejar yang seharusnya adalah mengejar, dan interferensi morofologi konfiks yaitu kata yang terletak pada awalan dan akhiran contohnya ke-an, ber-an, per-an.Yang ketiga adalah interferensi leksikal telah ditemukan data berupa kata dasar kata kerja (Verba), kata sifat (Adjektifa), kata benda (Nomina), kata bilangan (Numeralia), dan kata ganti (Pronomina). Terakhir adalah interferensi sintaksis yaitu struktur kalimat bahasa pertama ke dalam struktur bahasa kedua, terjadi apabila kalimat satu terserap kedalam kalimat bahasa lain. Faktor terjadinya interfersni bahasa Lembak terhadap bahasa Indonesia telah ditemukan data yaitu kontak bahasa, treansfer bahasa negatif, sistem bahasa yang berdekatan, kebiasaan berbahasa, dan sikap berbahasa. Dapat disimpulkan dari data yang sudah didapatkan terdapat empat bentuk interferensi bahasa dan 5 faktor terjadinya interferensi bahasa Lembak terhadap bahasa Indonesia pada teks karangan deskripsi siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 3 Kabupaten BengkuluTengah

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode student team achievement division (STAD) terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Kelas XI SMA Negeri 09 Jambat Akar Kecamatan Semidang Alas Maras Seluma. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu 40 orang siswa Kelas XI MIPA SMAN 09. Teknik pengumpulan datanya yaitu angket/kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas data angket dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan rumus korelasi product moment, sedangkan uji normalitas datanya menggunakan rumus Spearman Brown (split half). Pengujian hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji komparatif rumus korelasi product moment. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode student team achievement division (STAD) terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Kelas XI SMA Negeri 09. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan hasil penelitian yaitu hasil rxy sebesar 0,519. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan melihar rtabel nilai koefisien “r” product moment dari 40 adalah 0,312. Angka tersebut menunjukkan bahwa rxy lebih besar dari rtabel yaitu 0,519 ≥ 0,312 yang artinya hipotesis kerja (Ha) dalam penelitian ini diterima, sedangkan hipotesis nihil (Ho) ditolak. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode student team achievement division (STAD) dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Kelas XI SMA Negeri 09 Jambat Akar Kecamatan Semidang Alas Maras Seluma.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah Pengaruh Metode Problem Based Learning terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksposisi Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Kota Bengkulu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat signifikansi penerapan metode problem based learning terhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Kota Bengkulu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimental) dengan menggunakan desain Control Group Design. Data dikumpulkan melalui 2 kelas yaitu kelas kontrol pada penelitian ini adalah Kelas VIII A yang berjumlah 24 siswa dan kelas eksperimen dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII B yang berjumlah 24 siswa jadi total keseluruhan 48 siswa sebagai unit analisis penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Terdapat pengaruh metode problem based learning terhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Kota Bengkulu. Hasil penelitian uji t post-test diketahui rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen sebesar 82,92 dan rata-rata hasil belajar kelas kontrol sebesar 71,88, sehingga dapat diimpulkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen lebih 11,04 lebih besar dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Dari tabel uji t post-test diketahui thitung sebesar 5,043 dengan signifikansi 0,000. Didapatkan t tabel pada taraf signifikansi 5% adalah 2,018. Jadi nilai t hitung > t tabel (5,043 > 2,018) dan nilai signifikansinya kurang dari 0,05 (p = 0,000 < 0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan skor hasil belajar siswa secara signifikan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sehingga menunjukkan bahwa metode problem based learning memberikan sumbangan kemajuan terhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Kota Bengkulu.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss the social values in the betanam and setulungan ngetam padi traditions in the Tanjung Ganti 2 village community and the procession of the betanam and setulungan ngetam padi traditions. This research is motivated because the Tanjung Ganti 2 village community still has the betanam and setulungan ngetam padi tradition and of course it has its uniqueness. With this research to find out the social values in the tradition of Betanam and Setulungan Ngetam Padi and increase insight into the procession of the Betanam and Setulungan Ngetam Padi tradition in the community of Tanjung Ganti 2 village, Kaur district. This study uses descriptive qualitative research. Data sources obtained from the Village Head, Village Secretary, Village Imam, BPD Chairperson, Customary Chairperson and Customary Members of Tanjung Ganti 2 Village. The data obtained are in the form of observation data, interview results, documentation in Tanjung Ganti 2 Village, Kaur District. The results of this study reveal that the social values in the Betanam and Setulungan Ngetam Padi tradition in the community of Tanjung Ganti 2 village, Kaur district are as follows: personality values, material values, biological values, legal compliance values, knowledge values, religious values and beauty values as well as regarding the procession of the Betanam and Setulungan Ngetam Padi tradition in Tanjung Ganti 2 village which has its own uniqueness and differences with traditions from other regions.
