Carbon Monoxide (CO) emitted by motorized vehicles can have a negative impact on human health. One way to absorb CO gas is with adsorption technology using activated carbon. Activated carbon has the potential to be used as an adsorbent. This research aims to study the efficiency of CO gas absorption in motorbike emissions using activated carbon from rubber fruit shells. Activated carbon was prepared by carbonization process at 500oC for 1 hour using 10% H3PO4 activator and sieving with a sieve size of 200 mesh. The operating conditions of the adsorption process that were varied were the length of the adsorbent, namely 3; 4; and 5 cm. The activated carbon product is then tested using proximate analysis. The results of proximate analysis show that activated carbon meets SNI 06-3730-1995 with a water content value of 7.6%; ash content 8.7%; volatile matter 8.2%; and fixed carbon 75.5%. The research results showed that the highest removal of CO gas emissions on motorbikes occurred at a contact time of 1 minute of 80.809% with a media thickness of 5 cm. The best adsorption capacity value occurred at a contact time of 1 minute, with an activated carbon media length of 3 cm, namely 158.635 mg/g.

The power of attorney to sell is frequently employed as an alternative form of security in debt agreements outside of formal collateral mechanisms. Nonetheless, in practical application, such powers of attorney are often misused and treated as executorial guarantees, leading to legal complications when execution is attempted. This study seeks to assess the legal validity of a power of attorney to sell when used as an executorial guarantee in cases of default, and to evaluate the legal reasoning employed by the judges of the Batang District Court in Decision Number 64/Pdt.G.S/2022/PN.Btg. A normative juridical method was utilized, incorporating a statutory and case-based approach. Data were collected through literature reviews and judicial decision analyses and were examined using qualitative methods. The findings demonstrate that a power of attorney to sell cannot be equated with executorial collateral instruments such as mortgage or fiduciary security, as this contravenes the foundational principles of collateral law in Indonesia. The Batang District Court adjudicated that the said power of attorney lacked executorial force and thus required a civil lawsuit mechanism to execute the sale of the collateral. This judgment aligns with the principles of legal prudence and debtor protection, preventing potential abuse of legal authority. Accordingly, the use of a power of attorney to sell must be contextualized within its proper legal function and should not be construed as a substitute for executorial guarantees.

This study employed a qualitative textual analysis using Jacques Derrida’s deconstruction approach to examine George Orwell’s Animal Farm. The research aims to uncover how language constructs and destabilizes power relations in totalitarian contexts by analyzing key binary oppositions, such as leader versus people, freedom versus oppression, and justice versus corruption. The analysis reveals that Orwell’s narrative exposes ideological contradictions through slogans like “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others,” illustrating how language manipulation legitimizes political control. The study also highlights how deconstructive reading encourages students to critically interpret textual ambiguities and power structures through reflective writing and classroom discourse. The findings show that integrating deconstruction into literature learning fosters students’ critical thinking and analytical writing skills. This research contributes to literary education by offering a pedagogical framework that promotes deeper engagement with literary texts, enabling students to relate literature to contemporary socio-political realities. It emphasizes the relevance of deconstructive pedagogy in cultivating critical and reflective readers within the framework of 21st-century education.
