Abstract

The research entitled structural analysis of the short story Lebaran Kali ini Aku Pulang by M. Aan Mansyur aims to describe the cohesiveness of the instrinsic elements contained in the story by utilizing structural analysis. The short story was studied using data collection methods, namely, reading the short story “Lebaran Kali ini Aku Pulang” reputedly and intensively, determining and studying the instrinsic elements of the short story and then describing or describing the unity between its elements. So, thet the instrinsic elements (theme, setting, characters, point of view, mandate) produce elements that are interrelated with one another.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a product in the form of an android-based floor exercise application learning at SD Negeri 113 Jambi City. The background of the problem in this study is that some students at school are still not able to do good and correct basic gymnastic movements because some students still do not understand the correct steps of movement so that they experience obstacles in learning. This floor exercise application has been developed accurately, incorporating the latest movements, techniques, and practical, easy-to-use rules in learning. This research was conducted at Public Elementary School 113 with research subjects namely students of SD N 113 Jambi City. The research method used is the ADDIE model development research. The steps of this research start from analysis, design, development, implementation to evaluation. The results of the analysis of the research data show that the percentage score of the product trials carried out is 80% to 90% in the good category so that it can be concluded that this android-based floor gymnastics application product is suitable for use by students and teachers, especially sports.

Abstract

This research aimed to inventory the cultural meaning of traditional ritual equipment and document the equipment used during the tradition of healing requests of Anak Dalam Tribes Batin Sembilan Muaro Jambi Regency as a form of effort to maintain local wisdom. Meanwhile, the research method in this research used a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques in this research used interviews and documentation, while data analysis techniques used data reduction techniques, data presentation and conclusions. The results of the research show various descriptions and documentation of the cultural meaning of the equipment used during the tradition of healing requests of Anak Dalam tribes in Batin Sembilan Muaro Jambi Regency as a form of effort to maintain local wisdom. The names of the tools used in this tradition include: Balai, sesaji, Balai Pengadap, Ancak Kembang, Dupo dan orang-orangan and these are large tools that are used in general while other tools used include: Bertih, Cace, Balai di atas balai, cengkraman, redap, bedak kramasan, nampan sirih tambang balai, kain andam, gambar koneng dan cawan.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to enhance the activity and skills of pre-writers of fiction prose using a project-based learning model in the Indonesian Literature program at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Universitas Jambi. The research method employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle involves planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data are analyzed according to the assessment rubric. In Cycle I, there was an improvement in activity levels, with 87% of students achieving a good category and 13% achieving a very good category. The improvement in pre-writing scores was 60%, reaching a sufficient category for 40% and a good category for 40%. However, the analysis indicated that the target of exceeding 50% of pre-writing scores in the good category was not achieved in Cycle I, prompting the continuation to Cycle II. In Cycle II, both activity and pre-writing scores experienced significant improvement. Activity scores showed 33.3% of students in the good category and 86.7% in the very good category. Pre-writing scores increased to 33.3% in the good category and 66.7% in the very good category. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model in the Fiction Prose Writing course effectively enhances the activity and skills of pre-writers of fiction prose and is deemed suitable for application

Abstract

This article contains the results of training on using the Mendeley application conducted by Jambi University lecturers and students. This training needs to be carried out to help teachers master the use of the Mendeley application to cite scientific articles in nationally reputable journals. This paper aims to improve the writing of scientific articles for teachers at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi. The method used in the implementation of this service is participatory story action research (PAR). The participants in this training were teachers at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi. From the results of the implementation of activities, teachers can understand well about 1) basic material related to plagiarism; 2) material for using the Mendeley application; and 3) skilled at using the Mendeley application for citation of scientific articles in nationally reputable journals. The conclusion of this activity is that it has a positive impact in the form of mastering the use of Mendeley application citations to improve scientific article writing among teachers of SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan mengenai pematuhan dan pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama di dalam percakapan pada novel Kambing dan Hujan karya Eka Kurniawan. Metode pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan teknik simak dan catat dan teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah pengumpulan data,verifikasi data dan menarik kesmpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pematuhan dan pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama yaitu berupa (1) Maksim kualitas yaitu maksim yang mengharuskan peserta tuturnya untuk menyampaikan sesuatu yang nyata dan sesuai dengan fakta yang ada (2) Maksim kuantitas merupakan maksim yang setiap penutur dapat memberikan informasi yang cukup dan seinformatif mungkin (3) Maksim relevansi yaitu peserta tutur yang diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang relevan mengenai konteks yang sedang dituturkan. (4) Maksim pelaksanaan ini peserta tutur harus mengatakan sesuatu dengan jelas, tidak samar, serta tidak berbelit-belit. Abstract This study aims to describe the compliance and violation of the principle of cooperation in conversations in the novel Kambing dan Hujan by Eka Kurniawan. The method in this research is to use a qualitative descriptive approach, while the data collection technique in this research is to use listening and note taking techniques and the data analysis techniques in this research are data collection, data verification and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there are compliance and violation of the principles of cooperation in the form of (1) Maxim of quality, which is a maxim that requires speech participants to convey something real and in accordance with existing facts (2) Maxim of quantity is a maxim that each speaker can provide sufficient information and be as informative as possible (3) Maxim of relevance, namely speech participants who are expected to make relevant contributions regarding the context being spoken. (4) The maxim of implementation is that speech participants must say something clearly, not vague, and not convoluted.

Abstract

This research aims to compare the forms of resistance in the novel "Lelaki di Tengah Hujan" by Wenri Wanhar with the novel "Lelaki yang Membunuh Kenangan" by Faisal Tehrani. Both novels focus on the post-independence setting, specifically the second resistance carried out by students in Indonesia and Malaysia. Comparative literary research with a qualitative descriptive approach is used to present the necessary data. Data collected after reading and recording, along with the tested validity of the descriptions, will be analyzed by comparing the forms found in both novels. The dominance of the comparison between the two novels tends towards similarity, where the majority of 14 forms of similarity are found, namely student equality, acceptance attitude, and the application of left-wing theories, group study and activist transitions, student conferences and associations, movement efficiency, issue adoption, campus occupation, pro-people actions, institutional and governmental demonstrations, student attitudes towards press limitations, press function emphasis, counter-student press avoidance tactics, and the use of art and literature. Meanwhile, three forms of differences are identified based on student leadership movements, the direction of resistance goals, and the functional role of student press. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan bentuk perlawanan dalam novel Lelaki di Tengah Hujan karya Wenri Wanhar dengan novel Lelaki yang Membunuh Kenangan karya Faisal Tehrani. Kedua novel ini menitik fokuskan latar pasca kemerdekaan, yaitu perlawanan kedua yang dilakukan mahasiswa di negara Indonesia dan Malaysia. Penelitian sastra banding dengan pendekatan berbentuk deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk memaparkan data yang diperlukan. Data yang dikumpulkan setelah melalui hasil pembacaan dan pendataan, deskripsi yang telah diuji validitasnya tersebut akan dianalisis dengan membandingkan bentuk-bentuk yang ditemukan dalam kedua novel tersebut. Dominasi perbandingan terhadap kedua novel tersebut cendrung ke arah kemiripan, yang mana ditemukan sebanyakan 14 (empat belas) bentuk kesamaan, yaitu ekualitas mahasiswa, sikap penerimaan dan aplikasi teori kiri, transisi kelompok studi dan aktivis, konferensi dan asosisasi mahasiswa, efisiensi pergerakan, pengangkatan isu, pendudukan kampus, aksi pro rakyat, demonstrasi instansi dan pemerintahan, sikap mahasiswa terhadap keterbatasan pers, penekanan fungsi pers, siasat penghindari pers kontra mahasiswa, penggunaan seni dan sastra. Sedangkan perbedaan ditemukan sebanyak 3 (tiga) bentuk yaitu berdasarkan pergerakan kepemimpinan mahasiswa, arah tujuan perlawanan, serta fungsional pers mahasiswa.

Abstract

Learning about literary appreciation in elementary schools is an important lesson to increase students' creativity. The problem currently faced is that students' lack of interest in writing literature makes students not creative and productive. The problem of students' lack of interest at SD Negeri 76/IX Mendalo Darat in writing literature means that students are unable to take part in various creative writing competitions. One way to overcome this problem is by holding a literary studio at SD Negeri 76 Mendalo Darat as an extracurricular activity. The guidance provided uses methods of socialization, teaching, training and mentoring students in literary appreciation activities. The results obtained from this service activity are that students are skilled in receptive literary appreciation, namely reading literary works and some students are skilled in writing literature, and some are skilled in performing literature, such as telling stories, reading poetry, and playing drama. Literary works written by students are collected in the form of children's poetry anthologies and collections of children's stories.ABSTRAKPembelajaran apresiasi sastra di sekolah dasar merupakan pembelajaran yang penting untuk meningkatkan kreatifitas siswa. Permasalahan yang dihadapi sekarang ini yaitu kurangnya minat siswa dalam menulis sastra membuat siswa tidak kreatif dan produktif. Masalah kurangnya minat siswa SD Negeri 76/IX Mendalo Darat dalam menulis sastra membuat siswa tidak bisa mengikuti berbagai lomba tulisan kreatif. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut yaitu dengan mengadakan pembinaan sanggar sastra di SD Negeri 76 Mendalo Darat sebagai kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Pembinaan yang diberikan menggunakan metode sosialisasi, pengajaran, pelatihan, dan pembimbingan siswa dalam kegiatan apresiasi sastra. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini ialah siswa terampil dalam apresiasi sastra yang bersifat reseptif yaitu membaca karya sastra dan sebagian siswa terampil dalam menulis sastra, dan sebagian lagi terampil dalam mementaskan sastra, seperti berdongeng, membaca puisi, dan bermain drama. Karya sastra yang telah ditulis oleh siswa dikumpulkan dalam bentuk buku antologi puisi anak dan kumpulan cerita anak.

Abstract

This study tries to analyze the importance of education in JS Khairen's book Kami (not) Bachelor of Paper. Novel excerpts in the shape of phrases and paragraphs make up the research's data. Descriptive analysis with a qualitative research type is the technique employed. JS Khairen's novel Kami (not) Bachelor of Paper contains educational qualities in accordance with Sukardi's theory, specifically divine values, mark moral, mark social, and mark cultural, according to the study's findings. Overall, moral education is the most important educational value. Following that, using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, the data in the form of educational value was examined for its meaning using terms like denotative meaning, meaning connotation, and meaning myth. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan dalam novel Kami (bukan) Sarjana Kertas karya J.S. Khairen. Data penelitian ini adalah kutipan novel yang berupa kalimat dan paragraf. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel Kami (bukan) Sarjana Kertas karya J.S. Khairen terdapat nilai-nilai pendidikan menurut teori Sukardi, yaitu: nilai ketuhanan, nilai moral, nilai sosial, dan nilai budaya. Secara keseluruhan, nilai pendidikan yang mendominasi adalah nilai pendidikan moral. Setelah itu, data berupa nilai pendidikan tersebut dianalisis maknanya dengan menggunakan kajian semiotika Roland Barthes, seperti: makna denotasi, makna konotasi, dan makna mitos.

Abstract

enelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis, fungsi, dan makna metafora dalam Antologi cerpen Tukar Takdir karya Valiant Budi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik baca dan catat dari penggalan dialog dan narasi di setiap bagian cerpen yang memiliki makna metaforis. Hasil penelitian antologi cerpen Tukar Takdir karya Valiant Budi menunjukkan terdapat keseluruhan 69 data yang terdiri dari 35 data metafora antropomorfis, 7 data metafora binatang, 17 data metafora konkret ke abstrak, dan 10 data metafora sinaestetik. Metafora tersebut memiliki fungsi bervariasi yaitu 28 data fungsi mengatasi kekurangan atau keterbatasan leksikon, 27 data fungsi ekspresif, dan 14 data fungsi menghindari atau mengurangi ketunggal-nadaan (monotonitas). Metafora pada data di dalam kumpulan cerpen Tukar Takdir juga terbagi menjadi makna-makna yang beragam mulai dari 25 data makna stilistik, 10 data makna konotatif, 25 data makna afektif, dan 9 data makna reflektif. Abstract This study aims to determine the types, functions, and meanings of metaphors in the Anthology of Valiant Budi's short story Swap Destiny. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by reading and noting techniques from dialogue and narration fragments in each part of the short story that has a metaphorical meaning. The results of the anthology of the short story Tukar Takdir by Valiant Budi show that there are a total of 69 data consisting of 35 anthropomorphic metaphor data, 7 animal metaphor data, 17 concrete to abstract metaphor data, and 10 synaesthetic metaphor data. These metaphors have varied functions, namely 28 data functions to overcome deficiencies or limitations of the lexicon, 27 data functions are expressive, and 14 data functions avoid or reduce monotony. The metaphors in the data in the Tukar Takdir short story collection are also divided into various meanings starting from 25 stylistic meaning data, 10 connotative meaning data, 25 affective meaning data, and 9 reflective meaning data.
