This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the level of efficiency of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia. The research employs a panel data analysis and a non-parametric Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to measure the level of efficiency. The panel data analysis showed that company size, profitability, liquidity, and management significantly affect the level of efficiency of Islamic banks in Indonesia, while capital and financing risk have no significant impact. The efficiency of Islamic banks in Indonesia should be maintained by balancing the distribution of assets, ensuring portfolio diversification, maintaining sufficient liquidity, and paying attention to management quality. The originality of this study, to the best of the author's knowledge, is that it is the first study to examine the determinants of efficiency in Indonesian Islamic commercial banks using quarterly data from the period of 2015-2020. Abstract

Since the inauguration of Islamic Higher Education (STI) in Jakarta in July 1945, before Indonesia gained independence, the growth of Islamic tertiary institutions has been ongoing in Indonesia. Since then, Islamic tertiary institutions have started to flourish and change. After STI’s creation, it became UII (Indonesian Islamic University). Following advancements at the UII faculty of religion, PTAIN (State Islamic Religious College), IAIN, and STAIN were nationalized. Additionally, private Islamic higher education took the shape of universities, institutions, or high schools. The three primary pillars of the new higher education paradigm are as follows: First, increased independence (greater autonomy) in management or autonomy. Second, increased responsibility or accountability, not just in terms of financial resources more responsibly, as well as in scientific research, educational materials, and on-going initiatives. Third, improved quality assurance through continuous internal assessments and National Accreditation Board external assessments (BAN).

In response to this issue, Bank Sampah Berkah in Sumbersari Village, Sekampung District, East Lampung Regency, has taken the initiative to address local waste problems. It is hoped that this waste bank can provide a solution to the existing waste issues. To date, Bank Sampah Berkah manages over 2 tons of waste per month. The research question addressed in this study is: “What is the impact of Bank Sampah Berkah (BSB) on the welfare of the community in Sumbersari Village, Sekampung District, East Lampung Regency?” This study is limited to one variable, which is community welfare, with the object of research being Bank Sampah Berkah. The study location is Sumbersari Village, Sekampung District, East Lampung Regency. The results of the study show that the calculated Chi-Square value is 320.07. Based on the 5% and 1% significance levels, the Chi-Square table values are 43.773 and 50.892, respectively. Thus, the calculated Chi-Square value is greater than the Chi-Square table values at both the 5% and 1% significance levels (43.773 320.07 50.892). This indicates that the presence of Bank Sampah Berkah in Sumbersari Village, Sekampung District, East Lampung Regency has a positive impact on improving community welfare.

Abstract

The plantation sub-sector is an important part of national development. One of the plantation commodities widely managed by small industries is coconut sugar, with raw materials derived from coconut trees. In Labuhan Ratu District, many small household industries are engaged in the production and processing of coconut sugar. This processing is done using coconut plants that have not been intensively cultivated. It is known that the average cost incurred by tenant farmers and landowner farmers is IDR 96,000 per week, with a production output of 1 quintal of brown sugar and a rental cost of IDR 70,000 per tree per year. This study aims to determine the income differences between landowner farmers and tenant farmers in the coconut sugar business in Labuhan Ratu District, East Lampung. The data collection techniques used include observation, documentation, and interviews. The study population consists of 100 coconut sugar entrepreneurs in Labuhan Ratu District, with the same sample size using the saturated sampling technique. Data analysis results show that at a 5% error level with 98 degrees of freedom, the t-table value is 1.66055, while the calculated t-value is 2.770. Because the calculated t-value (2.770) t-table value (1.66055), the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, meaning there is a difference in income between landowner farmers and tenant farmers in the coconut sugar business in Labuhan Ratu District, East Lampung. Landowner farmers have higher incomes than tenant farmers because the income of tenant farmers must be shared among group members or partnerships, whereas the income of landowner farmers is entirely owned by one individual.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the impact of emotional and spiritual intelligence on employee performance. The data gathering techniques in this study are done with observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The population in this study was selected based on the total number of employees of a total of 28 employees at PT Indomarco Prismatama Sukadana East Lampung. In this study, the researchers used saturated sampling. Based on the results of the calculation of the test t through the coefficients table obtained variable significance values of X1 of 0.017 and X2 of 0.019. While simultaneously, through the anova table known significance of 0.003 is a small result of 0.05 which means Ha3 accepted that there is an influence of emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence on the performance of employees in PT Indomarco Prismatama Sukadana East Lampung. The regression equation result is Y = 3.542 + 0.451 X1 + 0.381 X2, whereas R counts 0.611, which means that the degree of relationship between emotional intelligence (X1) and spiritual intelligences (X2) with employee performance (Y) is quite strong. Whereas the R squere value is 0.373, R Squere can be called a determination coefficient in this case, meaning that the regression model method can be used to predict the Y variable which means Emotional Intelligence and Spiritual Intelligence influence employees performance by 37.3% and the rest is influenced by other factors.
