Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine and identify how forms of interpersonal communication that occur in psychiatrists and mental patients (depression) as well as to know and identify how the communication process barriers that occur in psychiatrists and mental disorders patients (depression). The results show that the SMC clinic uses the principles of therapeutic communication that also has similarities with the basic principles of interpersonal communication, including: therapeutic communication is a transaction process, the relationship in therapeutic communication is seen as a complementary relationship, therapeutic communication has dimensions of content and relationships , therapeutic communication is an adjustment process, therapeutic communication is a series of punctuation events, therapeutic communication is inevitable, irreversible and cannot be repeated. Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of Korean Wave that spread rapidly throughout the world made South Korea utilize this phenomenon to develop their tourism sector. Indonesia as the largest Korean Wave market in Southeast Asia became opportunity for South Korea to promote their tourism. The promotion is uploaded to YouTube to reach audiences. This study is aimed to determine the relationship between exposures of 8 Faces of Korea, 8 Types of Trip tourism advertisement with interest of Denpasar citizen. The sampling method in this research is non-probability purposive-sampling. Primary data was collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents aged 19 to 39 who had seen the advertisements at least once. This study shows that advertisement exposure has a significant and quite strong relationship with the interest of visiting. Relationship between the two variables is unidirectional, which means the more exposure happens to audience, the higher interest to visit. Abstract

ABSTRACT Communication has an important role in life, so also in organizations. The right organizational communication can facilitate management and employees to coordinate with each other. one of the results expected by the company is loyal employees The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which organizational communication plays a role in increasing employee loyalty to Adhi Jaya Hotel Kuta. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method in the positivist paradigm. The results of this study indicate that family communication in the organization applied in Adhi Jaya Hotel Kuta plays an effective role in increasing employee loyalty. Organizational communication that is run in a family manner can provide openness, a sense of comfort when working and still respect each other between superiors and subordinates as well as fellow colleagues who are equal This is a factor in increasing employee loyalty to the company. Abstract

ABSTRACT YouTube as a medium for channeling people’s creativity, It can also be conducted through the internet one of them is through make up tutorial vlog on YouTube in which the contents usually contain complete information steps to apply makeup. Purpose of this research is to study the correlation of exposure towards makeup tutorial vlog on YouTube towards the interest to learn makeup on Denpasar teenagers. This research uses quantitative method. The sample collecting method is non-probability sampling. Data is obtained through questionnaire. The result of this research showed that the correlation of exposure towards makeup tutorial vlog on YouTube towards the interest to learn makeup on Denpasar teenagers indicated as positive and in the same direction, meaning that the more exposed Denpasar teenagers to makeup tutorial vlog on YouTube, the higher the interest of Denpasar teenagers to learn makeup. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed at determining the perception of journalists in Bali on the news value of citizen journalism seen from the performance of citizen journalism in disseminating information or news. This research used descriptive quantitative method. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The results showed that the average perception of journalists in Bali on the news value of citizen journalism with the overall score of the indicator of news value in terms of providing news or information was 3.58. The average meaning was a good or positive category. It meant that citizen journalism was considered a phenomenon as well as a forum for people's aspirations. Citizen Journalism was considered capable of playing a role in helping mainstream media journalists in spreading any information or news. Keywords: Citizen Journalism, News Value, Perception.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Wattpad is an online platform that provides varieties of prose essays, such as novels. The presence of Wattpad makes it easy for novel connoisseurs to be able to read novels in digital form. This research aims to find out the motives and the satisfaction of youth in Denpasar City in reading novels on Wattpad. In this study combining motives put forward by Dennis McQuail and Zizi Papacharissi and Alan M. Rubin. The theory used is The Theory Uses and Gratifications. This research is descriptive quantitative method with purposive sampling as the technique. Data obtained by using Likert scale in questionnaire. The result shows five of the seven motives that could be satisfied are entertainment motive, convenience motive, pass time motive, information motive and utility motive. Motives that have not been able to be satisfied are personal identity motive and integration and social interaction motive. Keywords: Denpasar, Motives, Satisfaction, Wattpad, Youth

Abstract

ABSTRACT’; Advertisement is representing an activity to launch ideas and items using persuasive tricks. One of them is to create an ideal image for men in accordance with market demand through the appearance of a muscular body and handsome face. However, it’s different with Extra Joss Advertisement version called “laki go to health” which represent a different masculine image from the previous advertisement. Through qualitative research methods with the constructivisti paradigma ands semiotic analysisf of Rolando Barthesi, researchers found a different construction of man masculinity in Extra Joss ads called “laki go to health”. The changing masculinity in this advertisement is not only based on physical appearance, but is more than showing man lifestyle. This can be seen from changing regular and irregular lifestyles which are constructed fromaathe beginningito=the1end of the advertisementdand are increasingly confirmed by the man tagline called “laki go to health”. Abstract

ABSTRACT Daily Tribune Bali and Bali.tribunnews.com experienced media convergence. This research aims to know the motives and satisfaction. Denpasar is recorded as the most used nternet and the most media consumption in Bali. The pattern of media consumption that is a reference is the1motive by McQuail. The theory is the Uses and Gratifications theory. Using qualitative methods of descriptive. Sampling techniques are purposive1sampling. Data obtained by spreading the questionnaire Likert1scale. Analytical techniques are descriptive statistics with the average1score of1motives and satisfaction. The results of the study there are no motives1that are satisfied1with reading Daily Tribune Bali. Then only one motive is able to be satisfied in reading the news portal Bali.tribunnews.com is an entertainment motif. So the result of this1research shows the daily reader of Tribune Bali or Bali.tribunnews.com news Portal can,t be said as a fairly effective medium to give satisfaction. Abstract

ABSTRACT Bong Joon-ho's Parasite film is one of the most critically acclaimed films in 2019 with its genre of dark humor, thriller, and drama. These genres known to be dealing with violent scenes. Researcher wanted to know what are the physical and psychological violence scenes in Parasite film in a descriptive quantitative manner. Researcher is assisted by two coders to record every physical and psychological violence scenes based on indicators of violence from Harsono Suwardi. Result shows that Parasite film displays 107 physical and psychological violence scenes. Psychological violence is the dominating one with a total of 69 times, with its dominating scenes to be yelling and degrading, 18 times. While physical violence appears with a total of 38 times, with its dominating scene to be injuring with bare hands or with tools, 16 times. Thus, female do the most violence in Parasite film. Abstract

ABSTRACT Advocacy journalism seeks to provide other perspectives that are ignored by the media. Journalists have role to bring the voices of actors who do not have power to voice themselves in media. This journalism can be expressed as documentary film, such as indicated in Sexy Killers movie. Sexy Killers shows the struggle of the people who are affected by the existence of coal energy in Indonesia. The aim of this research is to describe how the application of advocacy journalism in Sexy Killers. This research used qualitative approach and was analyzed by using van Dijk discourse. Scenes of Sexy Killers were analyzed based on 6 elements of advocacy journalism. The results showed that Sexy Killers only practiced 5 out of 6 elements of advocacy journalism, that are focus of the news, issues raised, key informants, work priorities, and post-publication news expectations.
