Abstract

This research is considered as 'action research' which was tried to analyze the problems of aetheric oil industry made of Cananga flower. Research was held in Blitar Regency, East Java, as one of center aetheric oil production in Indonesia,which has potential to increase its production up to international scale. Based on this perspective, it was important to build such community empowerment based on integrative-participative model through business industry groups with basic characteristic non-corporate as suitable alternative for the development of Cananga farmer community. The results of this research were enhance distilation process, dealing with the waste from the distilation process, expanding the business unit of aroma therapy as the main product and also improving business mentality through some training activity for business motivation building.

Abstract

The daily life of the fishermen’s household in Lekok Pasuruan, East Java, Indonesia is still adopting traditional knowledge, especially in their activities in catching   and processing fishes.  This knowledge is inherited from generation to the next. However,  at present they have started making entrepreneurial endeavors although the endeavors are still limited to producing processed fishes in the form of fried fishes that are sold in the nearest markets. The problem encountered by the fishermen community is the stagnation of their welfare due to their relatively low incomes. Therefore, it is necessary to study  the problem and also to guide them in solving the problem. The method of this research is  a Participatory Action Research (PAR) and using Rapid Rural Apraisal (RRA) approach.  The findings of the research is a  model for empowering the fishermen’s household. This model is named integrative-participative model  with entrepreneurial mindset approach.   By using  the model,  the fishermen’s household will be more aware of the weightiness of fish-processed food variations and halal certification for the product that may improve the consumers’ interest in buying the products.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the ten States exporters of essential oils. Some of the problems faced by the production centers since the post-harvest crop up because of yet to implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). In the refining process, still not familiar with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Marketing chain is too long and limited market access. Therefore it is necessary increase the competitiveness of industry, ylang essential oils. Research objectives are (1) Increasing the synergy between the cluster members to improve ylang essential oil industry towards national and international scale. (2) Increasing productivity and supply continuity of raw materials as well as ylang flower essential oils product quality improvement, (3) Expanding market product access accurately. Activity location is in Blitar East Java Province, as one of the essential oils industrial centers in Eastern Indonesia. Putri Kencana (Program Produk Unggulan Industri Kecamatan) is an area of potential improvement programs implemented through industrial clusters such as clusters of palm-based Manggar Sari; industrial-based Essential Java patchouli, clove, ylang, ginger, and clusters of food-based industries Sari Raos. The approach used in this research is the empowerment of communities through participatory integrative model that is empowerment by involving the community in a comprehensive manner, from the upstream to downstream. The results showed that (1) As a system of agribusiness development ylang essential oils, found a variety of issues from upstream to downstream,such as production efficiency. (2) There is positive potential that can be developed as a tough businessman, (3) Necessarily needs an agribusiness institutional ylang essential oils to enhance competitiveness, especially in the Essential Java cluster. Some issues still need to be solved simultaneously, among others they were (a) relating to the production process aspects that is the technology to improve fractionation process that will also improve the quality of ylang essential oils. (b) on the marketing aspects, the needs to strengthen the competitiveness and development of downstream industries. (c) and on the institutional aspect, the public policies is necessary to support the regulations strengthening in thebusiness chain ylang essential oils. (d) on aspects of the formation of national character, it is also needs to be strengthen and human resource assistance to establish the character of entrepreneurial and competitiveness.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan merupakan suatu mekanisme dimana, individu, organisasi dan masyarakat menjadi ahli dan paham akan masalah yang mereka hadapi. Pemberdayaan Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Desa Ngadas, Kecamatan Poncokusumo, Kabupaten Malang yang telah dicanangkan sebagai desa Wisata Adat. Desa Ngadas merupakan kawasan pedesaan yang memiliki beberapa karakteristik khusus yang layak untuk menjadi daerah tujuan wisata. Di kawasan ini, penduduknya masih memiliki tradisi dan budaya yang relatif masih asli dengan faktor pendukung seperti, sistem pertanian dan sistem sosial yang mewarnai sebuah kawasan desa wisata di kaki gunung Bromo. Untuk memahami permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh desa digunakan metode Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA) yaitu pendekatan untuk memahami desa secara cepat. Dari hasil RRA dapat dirumuskan permasalahan pertama, belum adanya peraturan desa berkaitan dengan kesiapan sebagai desa wisata adat; kedua, lingkungan yang kurang bersih dan fasilitas umum yang belum memadai; ketiga, ketergantungan masyarakat terhadap hasil panen. Dalam mengatasi ketiga permasalahan desa tersebut telah dilaksanakan program pendidikan nonformal. Pendidikan nonformal bertujuan agar masyarakat memiliki kemampuan mengembangkan potensinya dalam rangka pemberdayaan masyarakat oleh karena itu di desa ini telah dilaksanakan program pemberdayaan melalui berbagai pelatihan dan pendampingan yaitu pelatihan pembuatan peraturan desa, pelatihan pembangunan karakter menjaga lingkungan bersih-sehat dan pengadaan fasilitas umum serta pelatihan produksi minuman olahan dari hasil pertanian lokal (terong belanda). Abstract

This research is aimed to elaborate political education concerning the issues of gender sensitivity in Indonesia and India, conducted by political parties by using comparative study. The specificity of this study is the selection of selected cases and critical problems.There are three political parties in Indonesia and three political parties in India become the subjects. Those six political parties in Indonesia and India have been conducting political education with each model and further describe the process of cadre recruitment which is typical both for the cadre of men and women based on the ideology of each party. It means that both in Indonesia and in India, the political education among political party still lack gender sensitivity. The implication, political party is needed a political education model based on gender sensitivity.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan pendidikan politik tentang isu-isu sensitivitas gender di Indonesia dan India, yang dilakukan oleh partai-partai politik. Ada tiga partai politik di Indonesia dan tiga partai politik di India menjadi subyek. Keenam partai politik di Indonesia dan India telah melakukan pendidikan politik dengan masing-masing model dan lebih jauh menggambarkan proses rekrutmen kader yang tipikal untuk kader laki-laki dan perempuan berdasarkan ideologi masing-masing partai. Ini berarti bahwa baik di Indonesia maupun di India, pendidikan politik di antara partai politik masih kurang sensitivitas gender. Implikasinya, partai politik  memerlukan model pendidikan politik berdasarkan sensitivitas gender.

Abstract

The Pujon Kidul Regency Government seeks to improve the Tourism Village Business in business units in the pandemic era by implementing health protocol standards and internet technology. The protocols are applied to tourist service units by coaching human resources in improving the service quality. The standard of tourist service facilities was adjusted to support the quality and attract tourists who want security and safety. Both of these matters directly affect the financial reporting activities. So, the procedure is also evaluated to be effective and systematic. There is urgency on how the Village Government can run Village Tourism business units to build the standard health protocols. The program aims to help the Village's Business of Pujon Kidul Tourism Village towards the employees from local citizens in the quality and suitability of services, good facilities, and internet-based financial reporting. Another goal is to support the Strategic Plan for Government policies regarding the formation of Tough Village in the pandemic and become the pilot for other villages. This program uses mentoring and coaching the village partners, which is participatory and has a Bottom-Up model (condition of the partners-decisions problem solving). The final benefit of mentoring is applying technology for internet-based financial management, creating the guidebook for Tough Tourism Village Services in Pujon Kidul, and standardization of facilities and services for the Tourism Village.

Abstract

The conversion of agricultural land into a tourist destination occurred in Pujon Kidul Village, Malang Regency. These changes have occurred since the emergence of Sawah Cafe tourism, so that it has implications for the occurrence of risks in the form of land conversion from the agricultural sector to become tourist destinations (such as ATV rides, motorbikes, cafes, homestays, restaurants, parking lots and shops). In addition, it also has an impact on the pattern of community life (especially around Cafe Sawah). This study uses qualitative methods, the type of descriptive research. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and document studies. The results showed that the community carried out commodification, in the form of land conversion from agriculture to tourism because the income factor was more promising and the economy increased, so it had implications for the social, economic and environmental aspects of the local community. But on the other hand it poses a risk in the form of social inequality and competition, environmental damage will occur due to increased air and water pollution, decreased quality of the surrounding environment due to garbage around tourism development areas and traffic jams.

Abstract

Future orientation is a design, plan, and view of an individual in the context of his education in the future which aims to direct himself to behave in accordance with the expected future. The future orientation of girls' education is shaped by parents through a preference. Preference is a choice or decision that must be prioritized, prioritized, and prioritized. Parents' preferences in the future orientation of girls' education, do not want their daughters to go to college. The cultural system of society influences the construction of a person's thinking so that it forms a preference within the scope of the family which is the smallest institution in society. Among fishermen's families, the level of education can be said to be lower because the struggle to meet the daily needs of a fisherman is at sea facing big waves, uncertain weather, and income which is determined by the number of fish caught makes a problem that is hampering the fulfillment of educational needs. child. This study aims to describe and explain the forms and factors that influence parental preferences in the future orientation of girls' education among fishing families in Muncar District, Banyuwangi Regency. This research chooses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic research type that aims to understand the indigenous people's point of view regarding the relationship with life, namely studying society and learning from society. Data collection techniques used participant observation, interviews, and document studies. The results of the research data obtained that preferences are divided into several forms, while the influencing factors are the family economy, community culture, and the mindset of parents. These forms and factors are collaborated with the concept of patriarchal culture.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the Ecofeminism Movement Through Household Waste Management in the Zona Bening Community, Batu City, East Java. This research uses a descriptive approach with the reason of using narrative nature, so that it can explore all the information from the informants about the activities of the ecofeminism movement through household waste management in the Zona Bening community. The subjects of this research are the core administrators of the Zona Bening community. Data was collected by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study uses an interactive model which includes data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. Test the validity of the data using source triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the household waste management activities carried out by the Zona Bening are a manifestation of the ecofeminism movement, this is because the actor who plays a role in the Zona Bening community is a woman who cares about the ecological space. Ecofeminism theory by Vandana Shiva is used as the basis of analysis in this study because the ecofeminism movement is a benchmark that there is awareness that can be shared with the public about the importance of maintaining and preserving the environment that can blend with nature, thus forming harmonization between nature and humans in accordance with the concept of balance.

Abstract

Desa Pujon Kidul Kabupaten Malang mendapat penganugerahan di tingkat Nasional dari Kementerian Desa, Pembangunan Daerah Tertinggal, dan Transmigrasi Republik Indonesia sebagai Desa Wisata Agro terbaik. Ketika pandemi Covid-19 melanda negara Indonesia sejak awal Februari 2020 penyebaran virus Corona menyebabkan wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Indonesia berkurang sangat drastis dan pada titik nol karena adanya kebijakan PSBB (Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar). Sektor penunjang pariwisata seperti hotel, restoran maupun café semua terdampak. Desa ini memiliki icon Café Sawah yang menarik pengunjung sampai dengan kurang lebih setengah juta per tahun menjadi harus menghadapi realita tutup. Sebagai Desa Wisata, para pengelola harus bangkit kembali bersama dengan masyarakat sekitar dan juga para akademisi membangun kembali dan bahkan menjadikan desa wisata yang tangguh dalam menghadapi bencana apa pun. Metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) digunakan agar diperoleh tindakan yang tepat untuk mencapai tujuan membangun desa wisata tangguh. Tindakan dalam riset ini adalah memberdayakan masyarakat sekitar yang terlibat dalam mendukung desa wisata yaitu pelaku usaha kecil dan mikro agar bertahan Temuan riset ini adalah adanya modal sosial yang dapat menjadi perekat di antara pengelola desa wisata dan para pengusaha kecil dan mikro. Manfaat hasil riset ini secara teoritis dapat memberikan kontribusi kepada pengembangan teori pembangunan desa khususnya konsep pemberdayaan masyarakat desa wisata, sedangkan secara praktis adalah dapat digunakan sebagai referensi model pendampingan bagi pengelola desa wisata dalam menghadapi resiko bencana.
