Abstract

The incidence of occupational contact dermatitis in Indonesia is high. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Gresik Factory is a company which produces various types of cement as a building material. Contact dermatitis is very prone to occur among cement factory workers due to contact of cement dust with the workers' skin. This study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. The method of data collection was performed by observation and questionnaire completion. The number of respondents in this study is a total population of 30 worker units from the finish mill and packer. This study uses statistical tests with univariate and bivariate tests, namely the chi-square test. The results of this study indicate there are 20% of workers who experience symptoms of contact dermatitis, and there is a correlation between the use of PPE (p-value = 0.003), years of employment (p-value = 0.001), and personal hygiene (p-value = 0.002) with symptoms of contact dermatitis. To be able to reduce the risk of developing contact dermatitis symptoms, it is advised that workers increase awareness in the use of PPE according to standards, such as not rolling up the sleeves and using standard respirators. In addition, the workers with new category of years of employment are advised to recognize the locations of cement dust exposure and know how to prevent cement dust exposure. Workers are also advised to clean themselves directly after being exposed to cement dust after work and change into clean work clothes every day.

Abstract

Introduction:Laboratory is a means of improving the effectiveness of learning. The problem faced by laboratory staff in performing their work (analysis and experimentation) is fatigue caused by long work time with inappropriate sitting posture and position. The use of a wooden chair without a backrest and with a seat height that is too high or too low can cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). This study aims to provide a workstation design suggestion with attention to ergonomics to reduce complaints of musculoskeletal disorders. Method: This descriptive research used an observational method. The population in this research consisted of 31 female students of a feed laboratory user, and the sample consisted of 16 respondents at the SIKIA Laboratory. Data collection for this study was conducted from July to September 2022. The independent variable in this study was the dimension of the workstation, and the dependent variable was musculoskeletal complaints. Result: Anthropometric measurements on laboratory assistants of the SIKIA Laboratory showed that the average popliteal height was 53.25 cm. Assessment on musculoskeletal disorder complaints shows that most complaints are found on "Pain in the back” with a score of 36. A new chair and table design is proposed, where the width of the seat back is 39.75 cm. Conclusion: A new workstation design is proposed that focuses on ergonomics to reduce the complaints of musculoskeletal disorders.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Many industrial locations have been observed to have a high prevalence of work fatigue, which poses health and safety issues. Driving can be tiring, especially if the body is not rested so it can increase the risk of accidents. Accidents to tank car drivers can be fatal because they can cause massive losses to the company. Subjective work fatigue can be induced by various factors, such as work-related stress. Objectives: The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between work-related stress with work fatigue on the tank car driver of the PT Pertamina Patra Niaga and the fatigue and stress management that should be carried out. Methods: This research was an observational analytic conducted on a sample of 205 tank car drivers. The dependent variable in this research was subjective work fatigue. Data analysis using Spearman Correlation test. Results: The Spearman correlation coefficient was 0.071, which means that the variables of work-related stress and subjective work fatigue did not have a significant relationship. Conclusion: Variable work-related stress was not related to work fatigue may occur because other variables were not analyzed so it did not show a description of the causes of fatigue experienced. Companies must perform driver intervention programs to prevent stress and fatigue from worsening.

Abstract

The increasing participation of married women in the workforce has given rise to dual role conflicts that pose significant risks to mental health. This study aims to examine the relationship between workload and dual roles on the mental health of married female workers through a systematic literature review. Literature searches were conducted using Google Scholar and Science Direct databases from January to April 2026, using keywords such as “workload,” “dual role,” “work-family conflict,” “mental health,” “married working women,” and “female workers.” From 2,360 initial results, 11 articles published between 2010 and 2026 met the inclusion criteria. The review findings indicate that workload and dual role conflict have a positive and significant relationship with mental health disturbances in married female workers, including work stress, emotional exhaustion, depression, and burnout. The magnitude of the association varied across studies, with dual role conflict explaining up to 33.8% of the variation in work stress and work-family conflict more than doubling the risk of depressive symptoms (OR = 2.29). One study, however, found no statistically significant relationship between the two variables. Additional moderating factors such as social support, work environment, and organizational policy also play important roles. Married female workers represent a vulnerable group that requires targeted intervention and family-friendly workplace policies to protect their psychological well-being.
