Abstract

Tuberkulosis paru (TBC Paru) adalah suatu penyakit infeksi yang disebabkan oleh Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Bakteri ini merupakan bakteri basil yang sangat kuat sehingga memerlukan waktu lama untuk mengobatinya. Bakteri ini lebih sering menginfeksi organ paru-paru (90%) dibandingkan bagian tubuh lain manusia. Menurut WHO (2010), penyakit tuberkulosis suatu penyakit global emergency. TB paru adalah suatu penyakit yang juga mempunyai angka kematian yang tinggi secara global. Putus berobat merupakan masalah serius yang menyebabkan kematian dan kesakitan pada pasien TBC, serta menyebabkan penyebaran TBC yang lebih luas di keluarga dan masyarakat secara umum.   Tujuan kegiatan ini memberikan Penyegaran kepada Pengawas Menelan Obat (PMO) dalam upaya mencegah putus obat pada pasien TBC paru di Desa Mbatakapidu Kecamatan Kota Waingapu Kabupaten Sumba Timur. Metode kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berupa edukasi penyegaran pengetahuan akan fungsi dan peran PMO untuk mencegah putus obat pada pasien TBC-Paru. Hasil yang dicapai dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan PMO mengenai peran dan fungsi serta pengetahuan tentang TB Paru setelah diberikan edukasi, dari rata-rata 35% menjadi 90%. Kesimpulan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berupa penyegaran PMO dapat menambah pengetahuan pengawas menelan obat (PMO) akan peran dan fungsi mereka dalam mendampingi pasien TBC-Paru agar tidak putus pengobatan selama menjalani program pengobatan TBC. Kata kunci: Peran; TBC Paru; Pengawas Menelan Obat (PMO).

Abstract

Malaria merupakan penyakit infeksi Parasit yang masih terus menjadi masalah di pulau Sumba. Desa mbatakapidu masih menjadi daerah dengan angka malaria yang tinggi. Banyak Kegiatan telah dilakukan, dibutuhkan tambahan alternatif usaha pencegahan malaria. Tujuan untuk Peningkatan Pengetahuan dan modifikasi lingkungan untuk mencegah malaria melalui promosi kesehatan. Pengabdian ini dilakukan pada 21 responden secara purposive. Hasil: keluarga mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan tentang Tindakan malaria : baik 90,5%, Cukup 9,5%. Pada Kegiatan Pemberantasan sarang nyamuk, setelah Pendidikan kesehatan dengan nilai rata-rata sebelum 66 % dan setelah Pendidikan kesehatan sebesar 90,5% telah merubah lingkungannya dengan menghilangkan genangan air dan membersihkan semak-semak. Kepemilikan tanaman anti nyamuk pada awal kegiatan hanya 2 responden atau 9,5% yang memiliki tanaman anti nyamuk, menjadi akhirnya 21 kk atau 100% memiliki tanaman anti nyamuk. Kesimpulannya promosi kesehatan bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan modifikasi lingkungan. Perlu perhatian yang continue agar dapat dievaluasi. Sarannya diharapkan kepada pemerintah desa dan Puskesmas terus membantu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan modifikasi lingkungan guna mendukung eliminasi malaria.

Abstract

Background:  Malaria is a persistent public health issue caused by the Plasmodium parasite and transmitted by female Anopheles mosquitoes. Treatment aims to eradicate the parasite in all stages, curing patients and breaking transmission. The Indonesian government is working toward a malaria-free target by 2030, reducing Annual Parasite Incidence (API). Vector control efforts include indoor spraying, insecticide-treated nets, larvicides, and modifying mosquito breeding habitats. Objective: To determine the relationship between family support and medication adherence for malaria sufferers. Method: This research is a descriptive quantitative research with a research design using a sectional design. The number of samples used was 30 respondents using purposive sampling with survey techniques. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately on the characteristics of respondents and the relationship between the two research variables using the Spearman-Rho test. Results: The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between family support and Malaria patients' compliance in taking Malaria medication.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia ranks third as the country with the most Tuberculosis sufferers in the world, after India and China, based on Global Tuberculosis. The WHO report on the condition of TB in the world in 2018 also stated that every day in Indonesia there are 301 people dying from TB. A person's perception of his life for the context of culture and life values ​​in order to achieve his life goals is the quality of life. The bad impact of this quality is manifested in the form of frustration, anxiety, fear, irritability, and prolonged anxiety that causes a person to despair or lose enthusiasm for facing the future. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the picture of the quality of life in Pulmonary TB patients in Indonesia. Method: This type of research is a literature review that contains a description of the findings of other people's research results. Results: From 10 scientific articles that have been reviewed, it was found that quality of life can be influenced by several factors including knowledge, age, anxiety, self-efficacy, family social support, medication adherence, stress levels and depression.

Abstract

Background:  Malaria is a contagious infectious disease caused by parasites from the genus Plasmodium which is transmitted through the bite of female Anopheles mosquitoes infected with the parasite. Objective: To determine the behavior of parents in giving malaria medication to children in Mbatakapidu Village. Method: Non-Random Sampling with consecutive sampling according to the researcher's needs. 30 families were determined as samples that met the inclusion criteria. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Results: data analysis shows the behavior of parents in giving malaria medication to children from 30 respondents, there were 24 partisipants (80%) had good behavior, 5 partisipants (17%) had good behavior and the least had 1 partisipant (3%) with poor behavior.

Abstract

Introduction: Pulmonary tuberculosis is a contagious disease that requires a long treatment period, making family support crucial in the healing process. Objective: This study aims to explain the role of the family in preventing the transmission of pulmonary tuberculosis within the family at Kawangu Health Center, Kambatatana Village. Methods: This research used a descriptive design with total sampling as the sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. Results: The study findings revealed that the role of the family in medication assistance was reported by 18 participants (78%), the role of the family in using personal protective equipment (PPE) was reported by 14 participants (61%), the role of the family in maintaining environmental cleanliness was reported by 22 participants (96%), and the role of the family in meeting nutritional needs was reported by 17 participants (74%).

Abstract

Background: Malaria endemic areas are generally remote villages with inadequate environmental conditions and low levels of preventive behavior. Objectives: This research aims to determine individual, behavioral and environmental characteristics of malaria in Kambatatana Village, Pandawai District. Method: This research is descriptive correlational with a cross-sectional research design, using a sample of 60 people. Results: The results showed that the age of malaria sufferers consisted of: <18 years 36 (33.3%), 18-40 years 44 (41%), 41-60 years 19 (18%), >60 years 9 (8.3%). Occupation of sufferers: Farmer 63 (64.28%), not yet working 2 (2%), student 29 (27%) and teacher/honorary 4 (4%). Malaria cases based on examination results consisted of: Falciparum 40 (67%), Vivax 10 (17%), and Mix 10 (17%). Malaria prevention behavior: Poor 2 (3%), Fair 48 (80%), Good 10 (17%) with the highest prevention behavior being the use of mosquito nets (3.2). Environmental conditions: Poor 40 (67%), Fair 18 (30%), Good 2 (3%), with 95% bushy environment, 25 (42%) near swamps, 52 (87%) do not have wires for ventilation, 48 (80%) had low light, and 45 (75%) had poor walls. The Spearman test results showed a value of 0.621, which means there is no significant relationship between the environment and malaria prevention behavior.

Abstract

Pendahuluan:  Hipertensi adalah kondisi ketika tekanan darah sistolik ≥140 mmHg dan/atau tekanan darah diastolik ≥90 mmHg. Hipertensi sampai sekarang masih merupakan masalah kesehatan yang serius dan sulit diketahui penyebabnya dan penderitanya paling banyak pada populasi lanjut usia (lansia). Kepatuhan  berobat  merupakan  faktor  penting dalam mengontrol tekanan darah terutama pada pasien hipertensi lansia. Tujuan: Mengidentifikasi faktor yang berhubungan dengan kepatuhan pengobatan pada lansia dengan hipertensi. Metode: Kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional. Analisis data secara univariat dan bivariat dengan uji Chi-square. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 70 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuisioner MMAS-8. Hasil: Responden patuh pada pengobatan sebanyak 59 orang (84%) dan 11 responden (16%) tidak patuh. Uji Chi-Square menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan antara umur, jenis kelamin, pendidikan terakhir, pekerjaan dan status pernikahan dengan kepatuhan pengobatan hipertensi. Kesimpulan: Sebagian besar lansia penderita hipertensi patuh dalam pengobatan hipertensi dan tidak ada hubungan karakteristik responden terhadap kepatuhan pengobatan hipertensi. Saran: Lansia penderita hipertensi harus mempertahankan kepatuhan pengobatan dan terus memelihara pola hidup sehat.

Abstract

Background: Malaria endemic areas are generally remote villages with poor environmental conditions and low levels of prevention behavior. Objectives: The aim of the research is to determine individual, behavioral and environmental characteristics of malaria in Rindi District, East Sumba Regency. Methods: The research is descriptive correlational with a cross-sectional research design. With a sample of 56 people. Results: Age of Patients: <20 years 21 (31%), 21-30 years 11(16%), 31-40 years 16(29%), 40-60 years 11(16%) and >60 years 5 (7%). Occupation: Farmer 56(82%), Unemployed 9(13%), Entrepreneur 3(2%), Civil Servant 1(1%). Malaria cases based on examination results: Falciparum 48(71%), Vivax 6(12%) and Mix 12(17%). Preventive Behavior: Poor 1(1%), Fair 57(84%), Good 10(15%) with the highest preventive behavior being using mosquito nets (3.1). Environment: Poor 38(56%), Fair 25 (37%), Good 5(7%), with 100% bushes, 27(40%) near swamp 59 (87%) no wires for ventilation, low light 56( 82%), walls are not tight 50 (74%). The Spearman Test result is 0.942, meaning there is no relationship between environment and behavior.

Abstract

Introduction: Effective diabetes management requires strict adherence to dietary guidelines. Family support plays a critical role in helping patients with diabetes maintain appropriate nutritional practices. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between family support and the dietary management of diabetes patients. Methods: This research was conducted at a Community Health Center in East Sumba Regency using a cross-sectional method. The Independent Variable is Family Support with sub-variables of Assessment Support, Instrumental Support, and Informational Support, while the Dependent Variable is the Provision of DM Diet. Thirty-eight respondents were selected randomly from the total population using the N-1 formula. Data were collected using the Family Support questionnaire and analyzed using a correlation test with α = 5%. Results: Assessment support (42%), instrumental support (61%), and information support (55%) were reflected as family support and categorized as sufficient. Diet provision for diabetic patients is also considered sufficient (53%). However, the correlation test showed no significant relationship between family support and diet provision for diabetic patients (sig 0.462). Conclusions: Although family support was a sufficient criterion in this study, this support did not significantly affect the diet management of diabetic patients. This result indicates that other factors may influence the patient's diet more.
