Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of game method training on the passing skills of SMA Negeri 5 South Bengkulu futsal players. This type of research is experimental research. The research sample was all extracurricular futsal players of SMA Negeri 5 South Bengkulu, totalling 15 people. The results of testing the hypothesis that the overall group obtained the initial test value mean 13.80 standard deviation 2.48, minimum value 10, and maximum value 19, and the final test mean 15.20, standard deviation 2.14, minimum value 11, and maximum value 20. Based on the measurement of the initial test and the final test using the t-test statistical approach of the overall training method group t count = 7.368 and t table (α = 0.05) = 1.761 which means t count > t table, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between game method training on the passing skills of SMA Negeri 5 South Bengkulu futsal players. So this value indicates that game training has a significant influence to improve passing skills. Thus the hypothesis that there is an effect of game method on passing skills in futsal game on players at SMAN 5 South Bengkulu" is accepted.

Abstract

Attention control is vital for athletic performance, particularly in high-pressure situations requiring quick decisions and sustained focus. The Attention Control Scale (ATTC) is a concise self-report measure of attentional skills, yet no validated Indonesian version exists—limiting sport psychology assessment in the country. This study translated the ATTC into Indonesian using a forward–backward translation procedure and evaluated its psychometric properties among 300 collegiate basketball athletes in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Data were collected via online and offline self-administered questionnaires and analysed with SPSS 26 and AMOS 24, including descriptive statistics, internal consistency, test–retest reliability, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). CFA confirmed the two-factor structure—Focusing Attention and Shifting Attention—with good fit indices (CFI = 0.93; TLI = 0.91; RMSEA = 0.065; SRMR = 0.057). The scale showed strong internal consistency (α = 0.86) and high test–retest reliability (ICC = 0.89). While the ATTC is a self-report tool and not a substitute for objective tests, it offers a practical, culturally adapted instrument for coaches, sport psychologists, and educators to assess and enhance athletes’ attentional readiness.

Abstract

Background: Innovation in physical education (PE) plays a key role in enhancing students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development. However, there is limited comprehensive mapping that captures global research trends, influential contributors, and thematic evolution related to learning innovation in PE over the past decade. Objectives: The objective of this study is to analyse publication trends, leading sources, influential authors and affiliations, collaboration networks, and thematic keyword patterns in global research on learning innovation in physical education from 2013–2022. Methods: A bibliometric analysis was conducted using Scopus-indexed journal articles (n = 867). Data were processed through VOSviewer (v1.6.19) and Publish or Perish to examine publication growth, prolific authors, affiliations, countries, journals, and keyword co-occurrence networks. Finding/Results: Publications showed a steady increase, peaking in 2022 (179 documents). Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy emerged as the most productive journal, while Universidad de Oviedo and China were the leading institutional and national contributors. Keyword clustering revealed five dominant themes: models-based practice, learning motivation, health-oriented PE, teacher professional development, and curriculum design. Conclusion: This study maps the global landscape of learning innovation in PE and highlights the growing shift toward learner-centred, theory-driven, and technology-enhanced pedagogical models. Future research should expand cross-regional collaboration, integrate multi-database analyses, and explore thematic evolution to capture dynamic shifts in PE innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Effect of Arm Muscle Power on Smash Skills in Volleyball Games at SMP Negeri 32 Seluma. This type of research is an experimental study with a sample of 17 volleyball extracurricular students at SMP Negeri 32 Seluma. The results of the study showed that the average value of students' Smash Skills increased from the initial test (pretest) with an average of 11.80 before being given arm muscle power training for 8 meetings and then increased in the final test (posttest) to 14.20. This increase occurred due to the physical adaptation of the application of the arm muscle power training method to the physical condition of the body that supports Smash Skills at SMP Negeri 32 Seluma. The results of the hypothesis test analysis obtained a t-table value with degrees of freedom 17-2 (dk = 15) at a significance level of α = 0.05 of 1.753. This means that t-count = 7.91> t-table = 1.753. Thus, it can be stated that the hypothesis proposed by the author, namely "There is an influence of arm muscle power training on smash skills in extracurricular students of SMP Negeri 32 Seluma", is accepted as true. This means that the arm muscle power training treatment applied by the author at SMP Negeri 32 Seluma can improve students' Smash Skills, so that the arm muscle power training applied by the author, namely pull up training, can be used in the training process with the aim of Smash Skills.
