Abstract

This article analyzes the political practices of oligarchy and elite politics in the context of the 2020 local elections in Indonesia. Despite the high number of Covid-19 cases, Indonesia continued to hold simultaneous local elections, making the regional elections even more controversial. The significance of this research lies in understanding the existence of oligarchic and elite political practices in Indonesia's election administration. The article employs a qualitative method using desk study by analyzing relevant literature to answer the research problem. The novelty of this research is in providing an analysis of the political practices of oligarchy and elite politics in the context of the 2020 local election. The findings indicate that the 2020 local elections were characterized by the re-strengthening of kinship politics, high single candidates, and the involvement of actors with oligarchic interests. These are indications that oligarchic and elite politics are returning to dominate election administration in Indonesia. The implications of this research are essential for understanding the challenges of democratization in Indonesia and the need to strengthen democratic institutions and practices.

Abstract

Employee performance is the result of carrying out the tasks assigned to employees but many organizations require employees to further improve their abilities and skills at work (Hasibuan, 2013). Wirawan (2009) explained various factors influencing the decline in employee performance such as work stress and job satisfaction. Employees who feel satisfied with their work tend to be more productive, while those who do not feel satisfied tend to have low productivity. Employee performance will improve if employees are satisfied with their jobs because their needs and expectations have been met. Work stress and job satisfaction play an important role in influencing employee performance. This study used a quantitative method and data were collected by distributing questionnaires. The population in this study was all employees at the Secretariat of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Bandar Lampung City with a total of 30 people. Determination of the sample used a saturated sampling technique so the entire population was used as the sample. Validity, reliability, normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests were conducted to ensure data quality. The results of the study indicate that work stress has a negative effect on employee performance, while job satisfaction has a positive effect on employee performance. Based on the t-test, the work stress variable has a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, and the job satisfaction variable has a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that both variables significantly affect employee performance. The coefficient of determination test (R2) obtains a value of 78.3 meaning that work stress and job satisfaction contribute 78,3% of the influence on employee performance.

Abstract

Since the integration of LIPI into BRIN in 2021, the Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense (MZB), which is managed by the coordinator of the zoological collection assisted by 20 collection technician staffs, has been transferred to the Directorate of Scientific Collections Management. The process of integration and management transfer does not change the main duties and functions of MZB as the national depository for zoological specimen collections. In addition to managing collections, researchers frequently ask MZB staff for assistance during field research and teaching collection management courses to students, teaching staff, and regional museum directors. The management of the MZB collection is described in a scientific publication for the first time. We hope that this documentation will continue so that museum management science can advance and assist the scientific community, particularly in Indonesia.
