Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the students? activity and learning outcomes through the implementation of the POE learning model with the assistance of student worksheets. The research subjects were 22 students? grade of VIII SMP Negeri 4 Batukliang Utara. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR), which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation/evaluation, and reflection. The implementation of the POE learning model is carried out through three stages, namely Predict, Observe, and Explain stages. The measured variable is the activity and learning outcomes on the subject matter of Motion. Research data collection techniques using observation sheets and tests. The results of the study in Cycle I obtained an average score of student learning activities is 2.08 with the category of quite active and the average value of students? learning outcomes is 73.41 with classical completeness of 54.55%. In cycle II the average score of students? learning activities is 2.95 with the actively category and the average learning outcome is 83.41 with a classical completeness of 86.36%. Based on the results of the study it was found that the implementation of the POE learning model with the worksheets assistance could improve the students? activities and learning outcomes grade of VIII SMPN 4 Batukliang Utara.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of chitosan stirring time from shrimp shells as gold absorber. Experimental research was conducted in this study, where the manufacture of chitosan from shrimp shells began with demineralization (mineral removal) using 1.5 M HCl, deproteination (protein removal) using 3.5% NaOH and deacetylation (acetyl removal) using 60% HCl. The chitosan formed was weighed 0.1 gram (as many as five samples) and then stirred in a 10 ppm Au solution, with a stirring time of 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 minutes, and its absorption ability to gold was analyzed using AAS (Atomic Absorbsion Spectroscopy) and obtained percentage of absorption respectively 24.79%, 50.89%, 45.64%, 40.52% and 37.87%. From the results of the study, it was found that there was an effect of chitosan stirring time from shrimp shells as gold absorber and the highest absorption at 10 minute stirring was 50.89%.

Abstract

[Title: The Mechanical Test of Lightweight Brick Made from Gold Processing Waste with Variations in Coal and Cement Waste]. The purposes of this research are to make lightweight concrete using waste processing of gold with variation fly ash and cement the better than conventional concrete. The value of this research has tested mechanics which comprises density, porosity and strength. The research has done with some stage are: 1) Make lightweight concrete using LPE with variation fly ash and cement. 2) Characterization of the samples which comprise density, porosity and the strength, 3) Analysis of tested mechanical lightweight concrete. The value of lightweight concrete to make with variation composition fly ash and cement in a series are: (0/100), (5/95), (10/90), (15/85), (20/80) who are in volume. To make lightweight concrete with composition foam and water controlled as much as 10 ml and 150 ml at all of the sample. So we get the density value of lightweight concrete without fly ash is 1.61. In lightweight concrete with fly ash, we get the minimum density of lightweight is 1.15. The porosity value of lightweight concrete without fly ash is 13.6%, and the porosity value of lightweight concrete with fly ash is 8.0%. The compressive strength of lightweight concrete without fly ash is 1.629 MPa and the compressive strength of lightweight concrete with fly ash is 1.772 MPa. The value shown to process waste processing of gold with variation fly ash and cement to be lightweight concrete can get mechanical in character of lightweight to be better than conventional concrete.

Abstract

[Title: Porosity Test and Compressive Strength of Lightweight Brick Based on Gold Processing Waste (LPE) with Banana Tree Filler (FPP)]. Lightweight concrete bricks are made from gold processing waste (LPE) and banana tree filler (FPP) with cement, foam, and clear water. The purpose of making light brick to know the value of porosity and value of compressive strength. Lightweight brick is made with gold processing waste (LPE) and banana tree filler (FPP) consecutively is 250 ml of LPE + 1 layer of FPP, 250 ml of LPE + 2 layers of FPP, 250 ml of LPE + 3 layers of FPP, 250 ml of LPE + 4 layers of FPP . Hardening time is carried out for 22 days in sunlight unspoiled. Tests performed include: density test, porosity test, and compressive strength test. From the test results showed that the porosity value and compressive strength of lightweight concrete bricks with gold processing waste plus the filler of banana trees with the amount of cement in the fixed condition and drying time for 22 consecutive days, the density value 1349, 09 kg / m3, 1290 kg / m3, 1121.6 kg / m3, 1168.3 kg / m3, 1254 kg / m3 and compressive strength value of 2.43 MPa, 1.25 MPa, 1.68 MPa, 2.13 MPa, 1.32 MPa. The high value of porosity and compressive strength value is influenced by the amount of mixture of foam, banana tree filler (FPP) and stirring method

Abstract

Telah dilaksanakan pelatihan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) bagi guru di SMA Negeri 1 Sukamulya. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan, yaitu pelatihan (in service training/IST) dan pendampingan (on service training/OST). Pada proses IST peserta mendapatkan materi yang berkaitan dengan penelitian tindakan kelas, sedangkan pada proses OST peserta didampingi dalam melakukan penulisan naskah PTK. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang tujuan utamanya adalah memberikan pemahaman tentang penulisan karya ilmiah mendapat apresiasi yang baik dari pihak sekolah. Kehadiran guru dalam kegiatan mencapai 80% dari total semua guru yang direncanakan terlibat. Dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan peserta nampak bersemangat, hal ini dapat dilihat dari antusiasnya para guru dalam mengikuti seluruh kegiatan pelatihan, baik dalam pemberian materi maupun pada proses diskusi atau tanya jawab.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat pengolahan minyak jelantah menjadi biodiesel ini dilakukan di kelurahan Tanjung Karang Kota Mataram, dipilihnya kota mataram karena terdapat banyak sekali pedagang gorengan, warung tenda, industri rumahan, dan hotel yang berpotensi menghasilkan minyak goreng bekas, sedangkan Tanjung Karang merupakan wilayah pesisir Kota Mataram dan terdapat banyak nelayan yang sangat tergantung pada bahan bakar fosil. Melihat potensi dan permasalahan tersebut melalui program Ipteks Bagi Masyarakat membentuk suatu kelompok mitra yang mampu memproduksi bahan bakar biodesel dari minyak jelantah yang dapat mereka gunakan sendiri atau dijual sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan potensi sumber daya manusia dan melestarikan lingkungan hidup dari polutan minyak jelantah. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah dengan pola sekolah lapangan dengan titik tekan pada ekspolarasi pengetahuan, kesadaran terhadap lingkungan, dan keterampilan serta bentuk pendekatan yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan motivasi mitra agar mau dan mampu untuk mengolah minyak jelantah menjadi biodiesel yaitu dengan melakukan sosialisasi tentang pentingnya menghemat bahan bakar fosil, menjaga lingkungan hidup dan memproduksi bahan bakar alternatif dari minyak jelantah yang banyak dijumpai dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kegiatan pengabdian ini telah mampu membentuk kelompok mitra yang mampu mengolah minyak jelantah menjadi biodiesel dengan spesifikasi biodiesel B-100 (100% Biodiesel), biodiesel B-75 (75% Biodiesel dan 25 % solar), biodiesel B-70 (70% Biodiesel dan 30 % solar) dan biodiesel B-50 (Biodiesel 50% dan solar 50%). Selain produk olahan yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini juga memberikan wawasan baru tentang pemanfaatan minyak goreng bekas yang dianggap limbah dan dapat diubah menjadi bahan bakar berupa biodesel serta dari kegiatan ini terbentuknya hubungan kerjasama antara pedagang gorengan, industri rumahan dan hotel dengan kelompok mitra yang merupakan nelayan dari tanjung karang.

Abstract

Limbah batu bara di Desa Taman Ayu menunjukkan bahwa limbah batu bara akan tersebar ke mana-mana melalui aliran air di selokan sehingga limbah batu bara ini selain membuat pandangan yang tidak bagus juga akan mengakibatkan polusi bagi kehidupan di sekitarnya. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membentuk kelompok produksi bata tanpa bakar dengan bahan dasar limbah batu bara. Seluruh peserta mendapatkan materi dalam 3 (tiga) kategori yaitu materi pelatihan pembuatan bata tanpa bakar, dengan materi seperti penyiapan alat dan bahan, pembuatan campuran, dan pencetakan dan pengeringan. Bahan baku yang digunakan pada pembuatan batu bata tanpa bakar terdiri dari limbah batu bara, semen Portland tipe I, dan larutan alkali. Kemudian semua bahan dicampur dan diaduk hingga merata dan homogen. Selanjutnya adonan dituang ke dalam cetakan yang yerbuat dari besi dengan ukuran 23 x 110 x 50 cm (SNI 15-2094-2000). Adonan dicetak dan dikeringkan dilakukan 1-2 hari pada suhu kamar lalu dilanjutkan dengan pemberian larutan alkali  untuk mengganti proses pembakaran. Pada penelitian ini membuat bata tanpa bakar dengan menggunakan bahan perekat semen dan limbah batu bara ini diharapkan dapat mengurangi limbah dan dapat menjaga kebersihan lingkungan serta dapat menjadi bahan bangunan alternatif pengganti bata merah yang ada dipasaran masyarakat sekarang yang pembuatannya memanfaatkan tanah pertanian dan merusak lingkungan.Training on making coal-based non-burning bricks at Taman Ayu VillageAbstractThe coal waste in Taman Ayu Village shows that coal waste will be scattered everywhere through the water flow in the gutter so that this coal waste will not only create a bad view but also cause pollution to the life around it. This activity aims to form a group of unburned brick production based on coal waste. All participants received material in 3 (three) categories, namely training materials for making bricks without burning, with materials such as preparing tools and materials, making mixtures, and printing and drying. The raw materials used in the manufacture of bricks without burning consist of coal waste, Portland cement type I, and alkaline solutions. Then all the ingredients are mixed and stirred until evenly and homogeneous. Then the dough is poured into a mold made of iron with a size of 23 x 110 x 50 cm (SNI 15-2094-2000). The dough is molded and dried for 1-2 days at room temperature and then followed by giving an alkaline solution to replace the combustion process. In this study, making bricks without burning using cement and coal waste adhesive is expected to reduce waste and be able to maintain environmental cleanliness and can be an alternative building material to replace red bricks on the market in today's society, which makes use of agricultural land and damages the environment.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk pelatihan, transfer teknologi, dan penyuluhan tentang pembuatan batako ringan dari limbah pengolahan emas kepada mitra. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di MA Al-Intishor Tanjung Karang, Mataram. Dalam pengabdian ini siswa dan guru akan: 1) dijelaskan tentang bahaya limbah pengolahan emas serta bagaimana proses penanganannya sehingga menjadi ramah lingkungan; 2) dilatih/praktik bagaimana proses pembuatan batako ringan dari limbah pengolahan emas, sehingga menghasilkan batako ringan; 3) dilatih memvariasikan filler/penguat pada batako ringan dengan menggunakan bahan/material yang selama ini kurang dimanfaatkan sehingga batoko menjadi semakin kuat dan ringan. Luaran dari pengabdian ini yaitu bertambahnya ilmu siswa dan guru tentang pengelolaan limbah dan batako ringan hasil buatan sisw adan guru.Training of Making Lightweight Brick from Traditional Gold Processing Waste in Students of MA Intishor Tanjung KarangAbstractThe purpose of this service is to training, transfer technology, and knowledge about making lightweight brick from gold processing waste to partners. In this service students and teachers will: 1) learn about the dangers of gold processing and how the handling process becomes a friendly environment; 2) lightweight concrete building / processing process from gold processing waste, producing light brick; 3) Frying varies the filler / reinforcement on lightweight brick by using materials that have been underutilized so the brick becomes stronger and lighter. The output of this service is the increasing knowledge of students and teachers about the management of waste and light brick made by students and teachers.

Abstract

This paper introduces a new process of gold recovery using nanofiber PVA/Chitosan from a gold-cyanide solution. Gold recovery in cyanide solution is made using nanofiber PVA/Chitosan produced with electrospinning technique. This research was conducted through several stages, 1) The designing of electrospinning tool, 2) Synthesis of nanofiber PVA/Chitosan with electrospinning technique, and 3) Gold recovery experiment using nanofiber PVA/Chitosan biosorption with the variations of initial concentration and time. The results showed that nanofiber PVA/Chitosan could be used as a gold ion absorber. The occuration of the isotherm process follows the Freundlich isotherm model, which is advantageous and occurs on a heterogeneous surface. From the results, it was agreed that nanofiber PVA/Chitosan is potential for gold recovery.
