Abstract

Understanding parts of speech is a fundamental component in learning English, particularly for first-year university students who are being introduced to basic grammatical structures. This study aims to analyze the development of parts of speech comprehension among first-year students in the Computer Engineering Program at the Institut Teknologi dan Sains Muhammadiyah Kolaka Utara. A descriptive method was employed, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data were collected from student assignments and their scores in the Mid-Semester Examination (UTS) and Final Semester Examination (UAS). The results indicate that most students showed significant improvement, with over 80% achieving grades of A or B. However, a number of students demonstrated stagnation or a decline in performance, which may be attributed to academic factors such as the complexity of UAS material and non-academic factors including motivation and learning preparedness. This study highlights the need for more interactive and contextual teaching methods, as well as additional guidance for students facing difficulties. With the right instructional strategies, students are expected to master parts of speech comprehensively, equipping them to meet both academic and professional challenges in the future.

Abstract

The Effect of Current Ratio and Debt to Equity Ratio on Return On Asset PT. Bumi Citra Permai, Tbk. Guided by Nurfatwa Andriani Yasin and Afriyani. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of current ratio and debt to equity ratio on return on asset in PT. Bumi Citra Permai, Tbk. The types of data used are qualitative and quantitative data. The data source used in this study is secondary data. The analysis methods used in this study are descriptive and statistical analysis (multiple linear regression, determination coefficient, correlation coefficient, f-test, and t-test). The multiple linear regression equation is Y= 44,367 – 0,015X1 – 0,396 X2, the determination coefficient is 90.8%, the correlation coefficient is 0.953. The result of this study are that the current ratio and debt to equity ratio have significant affect on return on asset, the current ratio has a negative and significant effect on return on asset, and the debt to equity ratio has a negative and significant effect on return on asset. Thus, the hypotheses in this study Hipotesis 1,Hipotesis 2, and Hipotesis 3 are accepted.

Abstract

Early menarche refers to the onset of menstruation in girls before the age of 12, marking one of the first signs of puberty. This condition can be influenced by nutritional status and exposure to mass media. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and mass media exposure with the incidence of early menarche among female students. A quantitative method with a correlational analytic design and a cross-sectional approach was employed. The study involved 36 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and anthropometric measurements. The results indicated that nearly half of the respondents (38.9%) experienced menarche at the age of 11, approximately one-third (33.2%) were at risk of being overweight, and almost all respondents (86.1%) were heavily exposed to mass media. A moderate correlation was found between nutritional status and early menarche (r = 0.412, p = 0.012), as well as between mass media exposure and early menarche (r = 0.451, p = 0.006). In conclusion, higher nutritional status and greater exposure to mass media are associated with an increased likelihood of early menarche. It is recommended that female students manage their diet by selecting nutritious foods and exercise caution when accessing mass media.
