Abstract

This research conducted to see how the prospects for electronic money in Indonesia, considering the launch of new electronic money launched this year through the LinkAja application. This application has received a fatwa from the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) to be a strong source of law for application in Indonesian society. The emergence of LinkAja electronic money is one of the policies of all stakeholders because the potential of sharia-based electronic money is quite large, apart from Indonesia having the world's largest Muslim population. The method that the author made is a qualitative method besides reading several journals and reading material about Islamic electronic money. The prospect of newly launched electronic money certainly has several challenges and opportunities that can be used as lessons for relevant stakeholders. Apart from the competition with the same applications as conventional-based electronic money, Indonesians are still used to conventional-based electronic money there is when compared to sharia-based systems. Complete support from the government is needed to make this electronic money develop well, apart from being protected by applicable laws and regulations. Promotion and marketing of all LinkAja management are also necessary to expand the reach not only in cities but also in villages.

Abstract

The term "cryptocurrency" refers to a form of digital or virtual currency that does not exist in tangible form like paper money. That cryptocurrency can only be used with internet-connected PCs, laptops, smartphones, and other devices. Cryptosystems that make use of the blockchain system have a number of advantages, including the speed, convenience, and security of transactions, as well as the ability to be used in all nations and continents. However, there is still room for improvement in the circulating cryptocurrency, including the absence of supervisory authorities. Experts, including Islamic scholars, are constantly debating the advantages and disadvantages of using cryptocurrencies. The Koran, al-Hadith, Qiyas, and Sad-Adzariyah are the sources used in this study to examine the dynamics of cryptocurrency use from the perspective of ushul fiqh. Increasingly, cryptocurrency transactions are used for speculation, which violates Islamic principles. According to Surah Al-Qur'an An-Nisa verse 29, the elements of superiority are gharar and maysir, so the use of cryptocurrencies is permitted subject to certain conditions. Additionally, a country's legality must be clear for cryptocurrency to be used safely.

Abstract

The existence of many bank financial institutions in Indonesia makes the whole community and the government feel the impact of the existence of banks. From the past until now, all economic activities in Indonesia have depended on bank financial institutions. With the current dual banking system, it is difficult for the public to determine which bank is more effective as a financial institution that can be trusted to have good quality and financial performance. This study aims to find out how the performance of financial statements is compared between conventional banks (BRI) and Islamic banks (BSI) for 2021 – 2022. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The results obtained from this study show that the financial performance of BRI banks in 2021 – 2022 is superior in evaluating the ratios of ROA, ROE, and LDR compared to BSI banks. However, BSI banks are superior to BRI banks in assessing the NPL ratio. Even so, there are advantages between the two banks, which have a good and effective soundness. The contribution that can be made from the results of this research is in the form of a comparison with similar research. The hope is that sharia banking can play a sharia economic role in Indonesia, which has the power of having the most immense Muslim majority in the world.

Abstract

Poverty is one of the biggest challenges in developing countries like Indonesia. Although various efforts have been made, the results of poverty reduction have not been sufficient, so a more comprehensive and sustainable approach is needed. The application of the sharia economic model, based on Islamic principles such as justice, balance and sustainability, offers a holistic and fair solution to overcoming poverty. Sharia economics emphasizes the equal distribution of wealth through zakat, alms, infaq and waqf mechanisms which are significant in redistributing wealth and empowering the community's economy. The research method used is qualitative by reviewing documents and related literature. Data analysis was carried out interactively to understand primary and secondary data sources. From the results of the analysis, it appears that the implementation of sharia economic principles has made a positive contribution in reducing poverty rates in Indonesia, although challenges in poverty alleviation still remain. Therefore, commitment and cooperation between the government, the private sector and the wider community is needed to continue to develop and implement strategies that are more effective in overcoming the problem of poverty as a whole. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the sharia economic model has great potential in alleviating poverty in Indonesia.
