Abstract

The Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) Group 4 of Universitas PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia took place in Banjar Silakarang, Singapadu Kaler Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency, Bali, from February 18 to March 15, 2026. Carrying the theme "Increasing Community Capacity Through Digital Education, Environmental Management, and Socio-Cultural Strengthening", this program combines the provision of hygiene facilities, socialization on organic waste management with biopore techniques and inorganic waste management through a waste bank system, digital-based population data collection, naming of road sections, and support for youth arts and cultural activities. The participatory method involved the banjar government, PKK groups, the younger generation, and the community as a whole, based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy (Parahyangan, Pawongan, Palemahan). The results of this program showed increased environmental awareness, efficiency of banjar administration, and strengthening of socio-cultural relations. This program also helps in the development of a sustainable banjar community in accordance with Balinese local wisdom.

Abstract

This community service program aims to provide education and training in eco-enzyme production as an effort to improve household waste management capabilities in the Banjar Prajasari area. The phenomenon of organic waste accumulation and environmental pollution is due to low public awareness regarding waste management. One simple, environmentally friendly product produced through the fermentation of fruit and vegetable waste that can be used as a versatile solution is known as Eco-enzyme. The Eco-enzyme production training was conducted through three activities: the first involved educational activities on household waste management, the second involved a hands-on eco-enzyme production workshop, and the third involved a twenty-day fermentation mentoring process. Data collection included observation, pre- and post-program knowledge assessments, and participant interviews. The results of the education and training on eco-enzymes showed a significant increase in public understanding of waste sorting, organic waste utilization, and eco-enzyme processing techniques. The community demonstrated positive behavioral changes in an effort to reduce household waste and successfully independently produce eco-enzymes. The conclusion of this activity is that community empowerment through the implementation of sustainable waste management activities and practical, effective, and efficient participatory education can increase public awareness in managing waste in the household environment. Abstract

Calonarang dance drama is a traditional Balinese performing art form that serves religious, magical, aesthetic, and social functions in the Balinese Hindu community. This dance drama serves not only as a form of entertainment but also as part of a cultural ritual passed down through generations. However, the development of modernization and changing interests of the younger generation have led to various challenges facing the survival of traditional arts groups, including those faced by the Calonarang Balian Batur dance drama group in Tumbak Bayuh Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency. The main challenges include the limited regeneration of young dancers and musicians, limited artistic development, and suboptimal performance management and documentation. This community service activity aims to support the preservation of Calonarang Balian Batur dance drama by strengthening the artistic capacity and fostering the regeneration of group members. The methods used include participatory observation, interviews, dance technique training, character and expression strengthening workshops, and mentoring in rehearsals and performances. The results of this activity indicate an increase in the artistic abilities of members, increased participation of the younger generation, improved performance quality, and growing public awareness of the importance of preserving traditional Balinese arts. Thus, this mentoring program has a positive impact on the sustainability of arts groups and the strengthening of the local cultural identity of the Tumbakbayuh Village community.
