Abstract

Semiotika adalah sebuah disiplin ilmu yang mempelajari tanda-tanda dan mekanisme kerjanya dalam komunikasi manusia. Berasal dari bahasa Yunani, istilah “semiotika” mencerminkan proses menafsirkan dan mengungkapkan makna yang tersembunyi di balik simbol-simbol. Dalam konteks ini, semiotika mengidentifikasi peran tanda-tanda dalam interaksi sosial, mengungkapkan bagaimana makna dibentuk dan ditafsirkan. Sejarah perkembangan semiotika melibatkan pemikiran tokoh-tokoh seperti Plato, Aristoteles, dan Ferdinand de Saussure, yang melihat bahasa sebagai sistem tanda yang bersifat sewenang-wenang dan saling terkait. Selain itu, Charles Sanders Peirce membagi tanda-tanda menjadi ikon, indeks, dan simbol, yang menunjukkan keberagaman dalam penafsiran. Penelitian ini menganalisis simbol-simbol dalam film tentang Umar bin Al-Khattab, yang menggambarkan perannya sebagai pemimpin dalam sejarah Islam. Melalui analisis tanda-tanda yang terkandung dalam film tersebut, penulis mengeksplorasi bagaimana karakter dan kebijakan Umar sebagai khalifah kedua berkontribusi pada perkembangan Islam. Dengan demikian, film ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pendidikan sejarah, tetapi juga menginspirasi nilai-nilai kepemimpinan yang relevan bagi generasi masa kini.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between humans and nature in the poem "Qasīdat Syajarat Az-Zaytūn Ath-Thānīyah" by Mahmoud Darwish using Lawrence Buell's ecocritical literary approach. This research employs a qualitative method with descriptive analysis to examine the symbolism and ecological representation in the poem. The results show that the olive tree in Darwish's poem not only serves as an aesthetic symbol but also represents courage, resilience, and adaptive strength in facing environmental challenges. The poem emphasizes the importance of maintaining a harmonious relationship between humans and nature and criticizes destructive actions that harm the environment. The conclusion of this study is that the poem "Qasīdat Syajarat Az-Zaytūn Ath-Thānīyah" can serve as a reflection on contemporary ecological issues and as a medium to raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pemerolehan kosakata bahasa Arab oleh santri baru di Pondok Pesantren Riyadul ‘Ulum Wadda'wah Tasikmalaya melalui interaksi sehari-hari dengan menerapkan teori sosiolinguistik Lev Vygotsky. Santri baru sering menghadapi tantangan dalam beradaptasi dengan penggunaan bahasa Arab, khususnya dalam interaksi sehari-hari di lingkungan pesantren. Interaksi sosial antara santri, pengasuh, dan guru memiliki peran penting dalam membantu santri memahami dan menguasai kosakata baru. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pemerolehan kosakata, menganalisis dampak interaksi sosial, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor sosial yang mendukung atau menghambat proses pemerolehan bahasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen. Teori Zona Perkembangan Proksimal (ZPD) dan scaffolding dari Vygotsky digunakan sebagai acuan untuk memahami bagaimana interaksi sosial dapat memfasilitasi santri dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar kosakata bahasa Arab. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mengungkap pola pemerolehan kosakata di kalangan santri baru serta faktor-faktor pendukung yang berperan dalam proses tersebut. Temuan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan metode pengajaran bahasa Arab yang lebih efektif di pesantren serta memperkaya kajian sosiolinguistik di bidang pendidikan bahasa.

Abstract

Curriculum evaluation is a strategic step in improving the quality of learning, including in teaching Arabic in Islamic boarding schools. This article discusses the evaluation of the Arabic language curriculum in Salafiyah and modern Islamic boarding schools using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model developed by Daniel Stufflebeam. This model allows for a comprehensive assessment of the curriculum context, resources, learning implementation, and the final results achieved. Salafiyah Islamic boarding schools emphasize more on understanding classical texts (yellow books) with traditional methods such as sorogan and bandongan, while modern Islamic boarding schools adopt a competency-based and technology-based approach to improve active communication skills in Arabic. The evaluation shows that both types of Islamic boarding schools have their own advantages and challenges in implementing the Arabic language curriculum. Supporting factors such as the competence of teaching staff, the use of learning media, and policy support also influence the effectiveness of the curriculum. Therefore, a comprehensive evaluation system is needed so that Islamic boarding schools can develop a curriculum that is relevant. ABSTRAKEvaluasi kurikulum merupakan langkah strategis dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, termasuk dalam pengajaran bahasa Arab di pesantren. Artikel ini membahas evaluasi kurikulum bahasa Arab di pesantren salafiyah dan modern dengan menggunakan model CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) yang dikembangkan oleh Daniel Stufflebeam. Model ini memungkinkan penilaian menyeluruh terhadap konteks kurikulum, sumber daya, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, dan hasil akhir yang dicapai. Pesantren salafiyah lebih menitikberatkan pada pemahaman teks klasik (kitab kuning) dengan metode tradisional seperti sorogan dan bandongan, sementara pesantren modern mengadopsi pendekatan berbasis kompetensi dan teknologi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi aktif dalam bahasa Arab. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa kedua jenis pesantren memiliki keunggulan dan tantangan masing-masing dalam implementasi kurikulum bahasa Arab. Faktor pendukung seperti kompetensi tenaga pengajar, penggunaan media pembelajaran, dan dukungan kebijakan turut memengaruhi efektivitas kurikulum. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan sistem evaluasi yang komprehensif agar pesantren dapat menyusun kurikulum yang relevan.

Abstract

This study explores the phenomenon of semantic change in language influenced by pop culture, particularly through film and music. The use of terms in these media, which carry social and cultural implications, triggers shift in communication styles and the formation of social identity. The aim of this research is to examine how the etymology of words popularized by film and music undergoes semantic transformation and how this process affects broader social values. A qualitative method with a literature review approach was employed, analyzing data from various films, songs, and scholarly sources. The findings indicate that terms emerging in film and music often become symbols of social change, introducing new concepts that enrich everyday language. This transformation not only reflects societal shifts but also fosters global cultural connectivity.

Abstract

Arabic curriculum development in Islamic universities plays an important role in improving students' competence in understanding and using the language which is the main source of Islamic teachings. This study analyzes the application of three curriculum development models: Tyler, Taba, and Schwab, as well as the advantages and challenges of each in the context of Arabic language education. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Tyler's model offers a systematic approach based on learning objectives, while Taba emphasizes the active role of teachers in curriculum development inductively. Schwab's model focuses on the social, cultural and student needs aspects of educational practice. The results show that the Tyler Model has a systematic structure but lacks flexibility, the Taba Model is more adaptive but requires active involvement of the teacher, and the Schwab Model is more contextual but faces coordination challenges in its implementation. All three have the potential to complement each other when applied synergistically. The implications of the results of this study show the importance of the role of higher education institutions in adjusting the curriculum to the demands of the times as well as local and global needs. The combination of the three models is expected to produce an Arabic curriculum that is not only academically relevant, but also responsive to social and technological developments. This study recommends periodic curriculum evaluation and intensive training for teachers to improve the effectiveness of curriculum implementation on an ongoing basis. ABSTRAK Pengembangan kurikulum Bahasa Arab di perguruan tinggi Islam berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam memahami dan menggunakan bahasa yang menjadi sumber utama ajaran Islam. Penelitian ini menganalisis penerapan tiga model pengembangan kurikulum: Tyler, Taba, dan Schwab, serta keunggulan dan tantangan masing-masing dalam konteks pendidikan Bahasa Arab. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Model Tyler menawarkan pendekatan sistematis berbasis tujuan pembelajaran, sementara Taba menekankan peran aktif pengajar dalam penyusunan kurikulum secara induktif. Model Schwab berfokus pada aspek sosial, budaya, dan kebutuhan mahasiswa dalam praktik pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Model Tyler memiliki struktur yang sistematis tetapi kurang fleksibel, Model Taba lebih adaptif namun menuntut keterlibatan aktif pengajar, dan Model Schwab lebih kontekstual tetapi menghadapi tantangan koordinasi dalam pelaksanaannya. Ketiganya memiliki potensi untuk saling melengkapi bila diterapkan secara sinergis. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya peran lembaga pendidikan tinggi dalam menyesuaikan kurikulum dengan tuntutan zaman serta kebutuhan lokal dan global. Kombinasi dari ketiga model diharapkan dapat menghasilkan kurikulum Bahasa Arab yang tidak hanya relevan secara akademik, tetapi juga responsif terhadap perkembangan sosial dan teknologi. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan evaluasi kurikulum secara berkala dan pelatihan intensif bagi pengajar untuk meningkatkan efektivitas implementasi kurikulum secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Penelitian didasarkan pada eksistensi kelompok rahasia Freemasonry yang misterius pada masa Hindia Belanda namun sampai menjangkau wilayah-wilayah terkecil di Nusantara. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji sejarah serta peran para tokoh Freemason di Tasikmalaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode sejarah yaitu heuristik, kritik, interpretasi dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di Tasikmalaya terdapat anggota Freemasonry yaitu elit bumiputera Bupati Raden Somanah Soeria di Redja, serta Eggink, Stam dan Onnen dari kalangan orang Belanda. Freemasonry pada masa Hindia Belanda bukan mitos akan tetapi eksis dan berperan mendorong tegaknya Kolonialisme Belanda dan gagasan Sekulerisme terhadap agama di Nusantara.

Abstract

Dilalah is knowledge that has been studied for a long time. Part of Dilalah's is Musytarok Lafdzi. In the Qur'an there are many forms of words, including verbs, nouns or symbols, each form of this word has a complex meaning that requires knowledge that can support understanding the meaning correctly. The science that is used to understand the various types of words is called the Science of Dilalah or Semantics. In the Science of Dilalah there are many language speakers including ta'adudul ma'na or one word that has many meanings, synonyms, antonyms and many more. So the author uses the Dilalah Science principle as the basis for his research on the word Ja'ala in the Qur'an because it has many meanings in that one word. the purpose of this research is to find out the meaning of Ja'ala and its musytarok in the Qur'an, as well as the types of musytarok that exist in Ja'ala in the Al Qu'an.This research is a type of qualitative research, in which the author collects data sourced from books related to the discussion and opinions of linguists. Some of the sources used by the author in his research are books on semantics, we interpret them to find the meaning of lafadz Jaa'la in the Qur'an, an Arabic dictionary. One of the results of this study is that there are several meanings similar to the Ja'ala in the Qur'an, namely saddu, farroqo, soyyaro, yasiro, a'tho, ‎tsabata, ittakhoda and syaro'a. And the types of musytarok included in this lafadz include two musytarok mutlaq and seven musytarok haqiqi, and in this study the authors did not find any type of musytarok tadod.

Abstract

One of the famous poets (poetry creators) of his time was Nizar Tawfiq Qabbani (1923-1998) from Damascus. Most of his poetry deals with the themes of romance, politics, and feminism. Unfortunately, literary works are often "extinct" due to lack of support from readers. To preserve a literary work, something is needed to take care of it. Literary criticism is a tool to preserve literary works. And there are many theories of literary criticism that can be used as a tool to use in research. The aim of this research is to find out the poet way builds power relations according to Pierre Bourdieu between men and women in the poem. This research is a type of qualitative research, and researcher apply the documentation method in collecting data in this study. Researcher used descriptive and analytical approaches to analyze the data in this study. And the results of this research is that the power relations between men and women in the selected poem contradict what happened in real life. In general, men will always be in power, and men will always have the power to control or dominate. So that men become the main figures in the upper class or in Pierre Bourdieu's theory it is said to be the dominant class, while women are lower. However, it is inversely proportional to this poem by Nizar Qabbani. The researcher found in this poem that women are strong creatures, women can do anything by themselves. Even in this verse, women are demanded not to always be submissive and obedient just because the culture and society that have been passed down from generation to generation look down on them.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the influence of applying the rules of Imla in teaching Arabic writing skills at SMAT Riyadlul Ulum Wadda'wah. The main problem backgrounding this research is the lack of effectiveness of Imla teaching in that school. The research method employed is an experiment with a pre-posttest control group design. Two groups of students were sampled, with one group receiving Imla teaching based on established rules, while the control group received conventional teaching. Data were collected through Arabic writing tests before and after the treatment. The research results indicate that the significance value α = 0.67 > 0.05, proving that the application of Imla rules significantly improves the Arabic writing skills of students at SMAT Riyadlul Ulum Wadda'wah compared to the control group. These findings suggest that the use of Imla rules in Arabic language teaching has great potential to enhance learning effectiveness in the school. The implications of this research are that teaching Imla with appropriate methods can be a solution to addressing the lack of Arabic writing skills at the high school level, providing guidance for teachers and schools in improving Arabic language teaching methods, and promoting the use of Imla as an effective tool in the learning process.
