Abstract

The university library has an important role in supporting the teaching and research process as well as meeting the information needs of the academic community, especially students. Improving student information literacy is needed to help search and use information effectively and efficiently. Students' abilities related to information literacy will make it easier to write scientific papers and work on college assignments. The Reference Librarian has the role of helping users to find the information they need effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the role of reference librarians in improving Information Literacy for students. The method used in writing this article is a descriptive research method through a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and literature study. This study shows that reference librarians have played their role in improving Information Literacy, such as training and information literacy packages and various services to improve Information Literacy skills of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang students

Abstract

Abstract: This research examines the role of spatial planning in preserving the environment in West Pasaman Regency. The main aim of this research is to evaluate how the implementation of spatial planning can support environmental conservation efforts. The method used is qualitative descriptive analysis with a case study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and analysis of spatial planning documents. The research results show that good and well-planned spatial planning can reduce pressure on natural resources and improve the quality of the living environment. However, challenges such as weak law enforcement and low public awareness are still the main obstacles. In conclusion, the integration of spatial planning policies that pay attention to environmental aspects is very crucial to achieving sustainable development in West Pasaman Regency. Keywords: Environment; Spatial; Continuity;   Abstrak Penelitian ini menelaah peran tata ruang dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan hidup di Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi bagaimana implementasi tata ruang dapat mendukung upaya pelestarian lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi lapangan, dan analisis dokumen perencanaan tata ruang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tata ruang yang baik dan terencana dapat mengurangi tekanan terhadap sumber daya alam dan meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan hidup. Namun, tantangan seperti lemahnya penegakan hukum dan rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat masih menjadi hambatan utama. Kesimpulannya, integrasi kebijakan tata ruang yang memperhatikan aspek lingkungan sangat krusial untuk mencapai pembangunan berkelanjutan di Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in improving student learning discipline through the reward and punishment method at SMA PAB 4 Sampali. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. In this study, researchers involved PAI teachers, students, and other respondents who were considered necessary in this study. The data analysis technique in this study used the Miles and Huberman analysis technique, consisting of four flows: da: action, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. After the data collection technique, the data obtained would be tested for validity using data source triangulation. The study results showed that student discipline still needed improvement, but there was an increase because less disciplined students were inspired by their friends who obeyed the rules. PAI teachers play an essential role through their approach as teachers, advisors, mediators, and evaluators. The supporting factor for discipline is a mutual agreement, such as a ban on using cell phones while studying. At the same time, the main obstacle is the negative influence of excessive cellphone use. Islamic Religious Education teachers are expected to continue innovating with a creative and balanced approach between punishment and rewards to build effective discipline in academic aspects and student character formation. The study's conclusion shows that the role of Islamic religious education teachers is to improve student learning discipline.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how teachers at YPI Qowwiy Azizi act as role models in teaching students the value of honesty. Honesty is one of the essential foundations of character education for children, and it needs to be nurtured from an early age through consistent example—especially from figures of authority like teachers. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research gathered data through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving both teachers and students. The findings reveal that the way teachers behave—both in and outside the classroom—has a significant influence on how students develop honest attitudes. The study highlights that consistency in the teachers’ actions, clear and open communication, and their willingness to model honesty in everyday situations are key factors in successfully fostering this value. Overall, the presence of teachers as positive role models plays a critical role in shaping students’ moral character, particularly in relation to honesty. These findings suggest that such role modeling can be a powerful and effective strategy in school-based character education programs.

Abstract

Background: The percentage of children around the world who experience physical or emotional abuse increases every year. Forms of harassment include murder, sexual acts, bullying, and enforcement of discipline that is too harsh. Sexual harassment that occurs in children in the city of Banda Aceh occurs every year. Data starts from 2014 (7 cases), 2015 (5 cases), 2016 (15 cases), 2017 (7 cases), 2018 (18 cases), 2019 (7 cases), and 2020 (31 cases). The aim of the research is to find out the determinants that influence the occurrence of sexual abuse in children. Method: This research uses descriptive analytical methods with a case control design. The data used is primary data and secondary data. The population in this study were children who experienced sexual abuse as a case group (31 children) and 31 children who did not experience sexual abuse (31 children) in Banda Aceh City. 31 cases and 31 controls. Data analysis used a logistic regression test with the SPSS version 22 program. Results: The research results obtained related variables, namely the role of parents (OR= 2.9; P=0.001), parental education level (OR=0.61; P=0.002 ), maternal knowledge regarding the introduction of the reproductive system at an early age (OR=3.2; P=0.0031), while variables that were not related to the occurrence of sexual abuse in children were the living environment (OR=2.3; P=0.097), family economy (OR=0.20; P=0.13), social media (OR=4.8; P=0.13). Suggestion: It is hoped that Service Centre Offices Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A) office officers and the Banda Aceh City police can handle and optimize the prevention of cases of sexual abuse of children in Banda Aceh City and provide strict sanctions to perpetrators of sexual abuse so that it creates a deterrent effect and prevents them from committing such acts in the future.

Abstract

Traditional Minangkabau knowledge—such as pepatah-petitih (proverbs), kaba (epic tales), and traditional pantun— represents a cultural heritage that has long been transmitted orally across generations. However, modernization, shifting lifestyles, and the weakening of customary practices have placed this knowledge at risk of extinction. University libraries hold a strategic role as knowledge management institutions in adopting digital technology to document and preserve oral traditions. This article aims to answer the question: what strategies can be applied by university libraries to preserve traditional Minangkabau knowledge through the digitization of oral traditions? This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method at Islamic university libraries in West Sumatra. Data collection techniques include interviews with librarians, observation of documentation activities, and analysis of policy documents and local digital cultural content. The findings reveal that effective strategies involve collaboration among librarians, lecturers, students, and local community members. Digitization activities are carried out through oral narrative collection, audio-visual recording, metadata management, and publication via institutional repositories and open-access digital platforms. Challenges encountered include limited technology, lack of documentation standards, and ethical concerns related to cultural publication. The study concludes that digitizing oral traditions can be an effective strategy for knowledge preservation when supported by institutional policies, digital-cultural literacy training, and collaboration among stakeholders. University libraries serve not only as knowledge repositories but also as facilitators of local cultural preservation within the digital ecosystem.

Abstract

This community engagement activity aims to strengthen the capacity of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) Ono Harjo village, administrators in financial accountability and transparency. Common problems faced by BUMDes include weak financial recording systems, the absence of standard operating procedures (SOP), and minimal use of digital tools. The program used a participatory and educational approach, including initial assessments, basic bookkeeping training, introduction to digital applications, and financial reporting assistance. The results indicate an increased understanding among BUMDes managers in transaction recording, financial reporting, and the importance of having an SOP. Additionally, a standardized SOP and business cycle document based on the latest regulations was successfully prepared and adopted. This initiative is expected to promote more professional, transparent, and trusted BUMDes financial management.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai sanksi adat terhadap pelaku perkawinan sesuku dalam masyarakat adat Melayu di Desa Cipang Kanan, Kabupaten Rokan Hulu, Provinsi Riau. Perkawinan sesuku dipandang sebagai pelanggaran terhadap norma kekerabatan adat yang telah dijaga secara turun-temurun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya perkawinan sesuku, menggambarkan pandangan tokoh adat terhadap pelanggaran tersebut, serta mendeskripsikan proses penerapan sanksi adat. Penelitian ini mengunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan yuridis empiris, sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kurangnya pemahaman silsilah suku, serta praktik perjodohan. Sanksi adat diberikan secara simbolik oleh ninik mamak setelah persetujuan oleh datuk dalam musyawarah adat, sanksi diberikan dalam bentuk denda berupa ayam atau kambing, sanksi yang sudah ditetapkan harus dibayarkan dalam jangka yang telah ditentukan oleh pemangku adat. serta proses permintaan maaf di hadapan pemangku adat. Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya revitalisasi nilai adat sebagai mekanisme kontrol sosial dalam menjaga tatanan sosial dan marwah suku.
