Abstract

Bandung city is a preferred destination for both local and international tourists, who have diverse preferences influencing their choices. Therefore, a research study is necessary to analyze the factors influencing tourists' decisions in selecting budget hotels in Bandung. This study employs a quantitative approach with a survey and factor analysis to examine the factors influencing tourists' decisions in choosing budget hotels in Bandung. Data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires to tourists who have stayed in budget hotels in Bandung. The independent variables observed in this study are price, location, facilities, service, and promotion, while the dependent variable is the decision to choose a budget hotel. The results indicate that all independent variables significantly influence the decision to select budget hotels in Bandung. Price emerges as the most dominant factor, followed by location, facilities, service, and promotion. The conclusion of this research is that both local and international tourists visiting budget hotels in Bandung are primarily influenced by the factor of price.

Abstract

Businesses, regardless of size, must continuously adjust to fast-paced technological advancements to remain competitive, particularly in the hotel industry. The Room Division plays a vital role as the heart of the hotel business, serving as the frontliner. A significant number of hotels have implemented technological advancements inside their operational room divisions, particularly in the front office and housekeeping departments. However, there are only a limited number of apps that can provide automation for analyzing the effectiveness of room attendants using delegation systems. A prototype of the hotel room division application based on the Intelligent Planning System (IPS). The IPS module provides automated analysis with rapid and precise outcomes, minimizing human involvement and reducing the likelihood of human mistakes. The research is conducted by applying the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the waterfall model, which includes planning, development, testing, and implementation stages. The prototype's anticipated outcome is to serve as a viable solution, with innovative features potentially benefiting the hotel's operational room division.

Abstract

Overtourism has emerged as a critical issue in popular tourist destinations, often leading to environmental strain, reduced visitor satisfaction, and safety concerns. Traditional methods such as ticket counts, or vehicle estimation fail to provide real-time insights or adapt effectively to dynamic outdoor environments. This study proposes a privacy-aware, real-time visitor capacity monitoring system for smart tourism, utilizing YOLOv8-based head detection and Centroid Tracking to ensure accurate, non-intrusive people counting in dense and complex crowd scenarios. Head detection is employed specifically to preserve personal privacy without compromising on detection performance. The system was trained on a custom dataset comprising over 3,000 annotated frames with diverse lighting conditions, occlusion levels, and viewing angles. Deployment at Wana Wisata Kawah Putih, an open-air tourist destination in Indonesia, demonstrated strong performance with 94.2% accuracy, 95.1% precision, and 90.6% recall, while sustaining >60 FPS for real-time execution. The integration of Centroid Tracking enables lightweight, frame-to-frame identity association with minimal computational overhead, making the system suitable for deployment on moderate-performance hardware. Despite its robustness, the system's performance slightly degrades under extreme weather (e.g., fog, direct glare) and rapid lighting transitions, which remain challenges for visual models. Moreover, the current model requires further evaluation for cross-location generalizability. Future research will explore the integration of predictive analytics for visitor flow forecasting, and further optimization of energy efficiency and adaptive detection under environmental uncertainty. This work contributes a scalable, ethical solution for real-time crowd monitoring to support informed, sustainable tourism management.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism is one of Djuanda Forest Park (Tahura) management goals in implementing a visitor management strategy in the North Bandung Protected Areas. Djuanda Forest Park is an important area to be preserved as a tourist destination because of its very strategic function for environmental sustainability in Bandung City and its buffer areas. The visitor management strategy's implementation level can be seen from the perception of tourist who comes to Djuanda Forest Park, which analyzes by the intensity of destination use, accessibility, and carrying capacity. Perception cannot be separated from the satisfaction of tourists when visiting. This study aims to analyze tourists' perceptions of the implementation of visitor management strategies together with tourist satisfaction in the Tahura protected area. The method used is descriptive with data collection techniques through questionnaires. The results showed that tourist perceptions and satisfaction with the Visitor Management Strategy application were quite good. In improving quality, management is expected to be able to design a more systematic flow of visits and limit the number of visits for each tourist area to minimize the impact of tourism activities on the environment. On the satisfaction side, managers need to improve product and service quality, especially the preservation of tourist areas to create tourists experience

Abstract

Work System Design is a work system design made by the company based on company factors and goals, which will later be used as an essential reference regarding task descriptions for each employee. Task descriptions help define each job from the department so that the work undertaken is systematic to achieve the company's goals. Seeing the importance of this, the author researched the work system design at Novotel Tangerang Hotel, especially in the Food and Beverage Product Department for trainees in the Hot Kitchen. The background of this problem is that the work done by trainees in the hot kitchen is still not well structured. The problem is that the company has no written trainee work system design. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and literature studies with the help of voice recording devices and cameras to answer problem formulations. The result obtained is that the work system design for trainees is formed based on organisational culture or in the sense that there is no work system design for trainees in writing by the company because work for trainees can change over time

Abstract

Cabin and low budget hotels are in great demand today, both in urban areas and in tourist areas. Although much in demand, until now there has been no research that measures how the experience of staying in urban areas and tourist areas compares. This study aims to analyze the guest's stay experience at the cabin hotel by comparing the two objects so that it can be used as an evaluation for the cabin hotel management to further improve service quality in providing a good stay experience. The approach used in this study is descriptive quantitative with cross-tabulation data analysis (Crosstab) assisted by SPSS version 25.0 software. By measuring the stay experience based on customer experience indicators consisting of sensor experience, emotional experience, and social experience. In cabin hotels, the results of research felt by tourists show that the experience of staying at cabin hotels in urban areas is more dominant in the sensor experience indicator, while in tourist area cabin hotels it is more dominant in the emotional experience indicator. For future researchers, the researcher suggests adding other variables and taking samples with a wider scope to maximize the quality of services provided for a better and memorable stay experience. And provide training to staff in terms of superior service such as improving interpersonal skills and being responsive to guest needs.
