Abstract

The village of the head of the river is one of the villages in the Secanggang District, Langkat Regency. Dominant residents work as farmers and self-employed. The main activities of the Thematic Community Service Program carried out by students are cleaning drainage, teaching elementary school children in class, teaching children the Koran and tutoring at home, counseling on organic fertilizer and others that are effective for a month. Based on an initial survey to several hamlets that the main problems are the dirty living environment of the community, clogged drainage channels, puddles of water, there are still school children who cannot read and count along with the moral and ethical decadence of school children and the low knowledge of residents/farmers about fertilizers. organic. The implementation of the activities is carried out by data collection methods and implementation methods where the student activities above are accompanied by DPL lecturers to help the community. The results of the Thematic KKN activities for one full month consisting of cleaning drainage channels, holding class lessons and recitations at home and holding counseling on subsidized and non-subsidized organic fertilizers have been well implemented. There are no obstacles and challenges in the activity because it is carried out in mutual cooperation, namely jointly between students and the community. Hopefully, the Thematic Community Service Program can benefit the community and also for students as an experience of living in a community, able to develop and apply academic knowledge according to their respective fields.

Abstract

Generasi Z memiliki sifat dan karakteristik yang sangat berbeda dengan generasi sebelumnya. Generasi ini dilabeli sebagai generasi yang minim batasan (boundary-less generation). Ryan Jenkins (2017) dalam artikelnya berjudul “Four Reasons Generation Z will be the Most Different Generation” misalnya menyatakan bahwa Generasi Z memiliki harapan, preferensi, dan perspektif kerja yang berbeda serta dinilai menantang bagi organisasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan hasil kegiatan PKM Dosen dalam Implementasi PKM Upaya Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Bahasa Inggris Siswa SMAS Melati Hamparan Perak Melalui Penerapan Model Pembelajaran PBL Generasi Z.. Nilai rerata prestasi belajar siswa mencapai 69,35 masih berada di bawah nilai KKM=70. Demikian pula ketuntasan secara klasikal baru mencapai 80,94% masih berada di bawah target 85%. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilanjutkan pada siklus II. Setelah diimplementasikan model PBL yang telah disempurnakan sesuai dengan hasil refleksi siklus I, hasil yang dicapai pada siklus II meningkat dibandingkan dengan siklus I. nilai rerata prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris siswa mencapai 72,85 dan ketuntasan secara klasikal juga meningkat mencapai 89,57%. Bila dibandingkan dengan kriteria keberhasilan penelitian, maka hasil yang dicapai dalam siklus II sudah melampaui target, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran PBL berhasil meningkatkan prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris siswa XII IPS-2 SMAS Melati Hamparan Perak semester 1 tahun pelajaran 2023/2024

Abstract

The aim of this research 1) to explore the type of each method that frequently used by the eleventh-grade students of SMK Tunas Pelita Binjai, 2) to identify which method is more often used by the eleventh-grade students of SMK Tunas Pelita Binjai. Data were analysed using descriptive qualitative methods. Data were obtained from speaking tests administered to students in group in front of the class. The types of code-switching, namely Tag-switching, Inter-sentential, and Intra-sentential, were analysed based on Appel and Muysken theory. As a result, students frequently used Intra-sentential type of code-switching at a rate of 72%, Inter-sentential at a rate of 40,4%, and finally used Tag-switching at a rate of 0%. Types of code-mixing, namely Insertion, Alternation and Congruent Lexicalization, were analysed based on Muysken theory. The results showed that 70,2% of the students frequently used the Insertion type of code-mixing, while the rate of the Alternation was 21,2%, and the rate of Congruent Lexicalization was 0%. Above all, the results showed the students used code-switching more frequently during the conversation test with total 112,4%, while the code-mixing showed the total 91,4%.

Abstract

The objective of the study is to know the significant effect of using Visual Media on students’ writing skill at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 1 Selesai. The method applied in this research was quantitative method in the design is Quasi experimental. Two classes were taken as the sample of the study with 20 students in each class. The classes were designed as an experimental class and controlled class. The experimental class was taught by using Visual Media while the controlled class was taught without using the treatment. The students’ population at SMA Negeri 1 Selesai, and the samples were 40 students (20 students for the experimental class and 20 students for the controlled class). The sampling technique that used was total population sampling. Moreover, this research was conducted through the following procedures giving pre-test, applying treatments, and giving post-test. The data analyzed in this research was gained through essay test. The result of the conclusion that in testing the hypothesis, the value of t-observation (to) was 8.23, and t-table (tt) at significance level of 5% was 1.686. It means tottable , then 8.23 1.686. So, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. Based on the result, it can be concluded that using Visual Media was effective on increasing students’ writing skill narrative text at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 1 Selesai

Abstract

Abstract

Pengabdian Masyarakat Tahun 2021 dilakukan di Desa Karang Gading, Kecamatan Secanggang, Kabupaten Langkat. Pada program pengabdian masyarakat tersebut kami melaksanakan banyak program kerja, salah satunya yaitu pendampingan belajar kepada anak-anak di Dusun Pasar II Desa Karang Gading. Lembaga bimbingan belajar di luar sekolah menjadi alternatif para siswa untuk mendapatkan materi yang belum diajarkan di sekolah (Dwi, 2013). Keputusan untuk mengikutsertakan anak di lembaga kursus atau bimbingan belajar merupakan keputusan yang tepat bagi anak-anak. Di sana mereka bisa memperoleh ilmu yang tidak sempat diajarkan oleh guru di sekolah. Akan tetapi, tidak semua anak bisa mengikuti les ataupun bimbingan belajar. Hal tersebut terjadi di lingkungan tempat tinggal anak di Dusun Pasar II Desa Karang Gading, Kecamatan Secanggang yang jauh dari pusat perkotaan dan karena mahalnya biaya bimbingan belajar. Dengan melihat kendala tersebut, membuat para Dosen dan mahasiswa STKIP BUDIDAYA BINJAI merasa terpanggil untuk melakukan pengabdian di daerah tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini sebagai sarana penyampaian kebermanfaatan ilmu dan rasa kepedulian para dosen dan mahasiswa terhadap masyarakat dibidang pendidikan dalam bentuk pendampingan melalui kegiatan bimbingan belajar di rumah atupun di posko. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan prestasi akademik dan motivasi belajar siswa

Abstract

Perluasan pertanian berkelanjutan di dalam negeri dapat ditempuh melalui pembukaan lahan baru dengan maksud peningkatan produktivitas dan efisiensi produksi pertanian, pengembangan infrastruktur, dan pengaturan tata niaga serta insentif usaha. Salah satu faktor keberhasilan pertanian berkelanjutan sangat dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan lahan pertanian. Sampai saat ini, sebagian besar masih menggunakan lahan pertanian, padahal selain ketersediaannya terus berkurang, penggunaan yang tidak bijaksana dan pengalihan fungsi lahan juga berdampak terhadap keseimbangan ekologis sehingga daya dukung lingkungan terus menurun dan produktivitas usaha pertanian semakin rendah. Solusi penanggulangannya adalah menciptakan media tanam baru melalui pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan limbah kelapa sawit, limbah ternak sapi dan limbah jagung (triplemix). Dimana jumlah limbah tersebut cukup banyak dan akan menjadi sangat potensial jika dapat dimanfaatkan secara tepat dan optimal. Solusi penanggulangannya adalah menciptakan media tanam baru melalui pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan limbah triplemix. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mensosialisasikan dan mengimplementasikan hasil penelitian media tanam yang berkualitas, ramah lingkungan dan meningkatkan pertanian berkelanjutan melalui pelatihan membuat media tanam dari limbah triplemix pada program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat desa Bogak Besar Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Dari hasil pelatihan memberikan keterampilan/pengetahuan tambahan masyarakat desa dan prototif media tanam digunakan untuk menyediakan pakan ternak dan tanaman pangan di pekarangan rumah serta memberikan kesempatan atau peluang usaha baru untuk menambah pendapatan petani/masyarakat desa

Abstract

In the quickly changing context of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution, it is essential to comprehend how Generation Z (Gen Z) modifies their language usage. As digital natives who have grown up with technology, Gen Z is at the forefront of shaping and transforming language in the digital age. This study investigates the notable changes in Gen Z's language use in digital discourse, emphasizing Instagram. The goal is to recognize how the linguistic shifts of Gen Z are changing how people communicate in digital environments. This study used a qualitative content analysis method to analyze the data from Instagram comments and posts, highlighting essential features such mixing language, new slang and expression, use of non-standard spelling, emoji language and use of symbols, and contextualization in pop culture and social media trends. The results show that Gen Z used the linguistic shift in their communication in digital discourse such as communication in Instragram. These linguistic patterns show how Gen Z navigates and shapes their digital identities through language and how engaged they are with pop culture and social media trends. This study adds to our understanding of how digital platforms shape language use and social interaction in the modern period. It emphasizes the necessity of more investigation into how these changes may affect sociolinguistic theory, pedagogy, and communication techniques.
