Abstract

The Assembagoes sugar factory has a production capacity of 3000 TCD and was revitalized in 2015, increasing the capacity to 6000 TCD. With the increase in production capacity, the supply of electrical energy, which had previously only come from one generator unit, was supplemented with one new 13 MW generator unit, increasing the total generation capacity to 23 MW. With this addition, the operation pattern of the electrical system changes, and the problem of system stability becomes one of the primary concerns that must be analyzed with improvements to the Assembaggoes sugar factory's electrical system. The goal of this research is to determine the system's frequency and voltage response when a brief stability disturbance occurs.

Abstract

A transformer is a static electric device that is used to change the alternating voltage to a higher or lower level and is used to transfer energy from one electric circuit to another without changing the frequency. When the transformer is working, there is a temperature rise in the transformer which affects the degradation of the insulating paper and transformer oil. This accelerated aging tester applies the drying and vacuuming process as well as the arrangement of paper insulation racks to achieve maximum test results. The research method refers to IEC 60216-3 2006 for aging time, IEC TS 62332-1 2014 and IEC TS 62332-1 2011 as a reference for the Development of Accelerated Aging Experimental Test Cells for Transformer Oil-immersed Paper Insulation Systems. After achieving the existing goals, the addition of the drying process resulted in quite good Breakdown Voltage test results, not only that after the addition of vacuum it produced a good oil color according to ASTM D1500 as well as after the presence of paper placement racks the results of good tensile strength testing were proven by a graph which relatively decreased from sample 1 to sample 3.

Abstract

A transformer is a static device that can transfer electrical energy using the principle of electromagnetic induction. In operating conditions, the increase of temperature in the transformer will cause the oil insulation having disturbance, which will cause the quality of the insulation to decrease. In this research, oil isolation type shell diala b was chosen which was placed in an accelerated thermal aging chamber experiment device. Then shell diala b oil insulation is heated to a temperature of 120 °C and 160 °C with three sampling times. After this, the oil insulation characteristics were tested which includes oil color scale testing and UV-Visible spectrophotometric testing of the oil. The research method used refers to the IEC 60216-3 2006 standard for aging time and ASTM D-1500 COLOR SCALE for color scale testing. After testing the characteristics of shell diala b oil insulation, it was found that the value of the color scale had increased. Besides that, there has been an increase in the absorption of UV-Visible rays within the oil insulation, which causes the color of the insulation become darker as the temperature and the aging duration in the accelerated thermal aging chamber increases.

Abstract

The use of electrical energy in the building and industrial sectors is very important, especially the use and allocation of funds spent is quite large. So it is necessary to use energy as efficiently as possible. So there is a need for an energy audit to determine the level of electrical energy consumption used, where the results will be compared with predetermined standards. This research was carried out at CV Tirta Windu Agung 3 using a PM5100 and lux meter. From initial audit calculations, the IKE value was found to be 13.42 kWh/m2/year. This IKE value is the total of the buildings and ponds. The IKE value still includes very efficient criteria. Based on the results of detailed audit calculations, the value obtained before improvement was 2.23 kWh/m2/year. The IKE value still includes the criteria for being very efficient or meeting standards. After improvements it became 1.65 kWh/m2/year. Energy saving opportunities are available in indoor and outdoor lighting systems by replacing CFL (compact fluorescent lamp) lamps with Philips LED lamps. Based on calculations, the savings in electrical energy costs are IDR 41,736/day, resulting in savings of IDR 15,233,640/year. Based on the Isc/IL calculation above, it can be seen that the Isc/IL value is 165.4. According to the IEEE 519-2014 standard, the ISC IL value in the range >1000 has a permissible THDi value limit of 15%. The nominal voltage used is 0.4 kV, so the permitted THDv is 8%. Based on table 3.9 THDv and THDi under standard conditions.

Abstract

Salah satu peralatan yang penting dalam sistem distribusi tenaga listrik adalah transformator. Penuaan transformator disebabkan oleh kerusakan isolasi yang diakibatkan dari proses degradasi kimia yang terakselerasi oleh oksidasi dan peningkatan suhu. Maka dari itu, untuk menilai loss of life transformator yang paling umum digunakan adalah menggunakan karakteristik thermal transformator. Peningkatan penggunaan photovoltaic (PV) yang mulai menyebar di berbagai daerah adalah salah satu bukti mulai diandalkannya energi terbarukan. Hal ini membawa dampak positif maupun negatif, baik bagi sistem tenaga secara keseluruhan, maupun bagi peralatan listrik. Artikel ini membahas berbagai penelitian terdahulu yang meneliti tentang pengaruh penggunaan PV terhadap penurunan kondisi transformator distribusi. Artikel review ini dibagi menjadi tiga bagian. Yang pertama membahas tentang akibat pemasangan PV yang mempengaruhi kinerja dari isolasi transformator berdasarkan pembebanan yang dialami saat operasi. Yang kedua membahas tentang pengaruh harmonisa yang dihasilkan oleh sistem PV terhadap penuaan transformator. Yang terakhir membahas tentang beberapa penelitian terdahulu yang membahas pendekatan untuk mengatasi harmonisa pada sistem   ABSTRACT One of the most important equipment in an electric power distribution system is a transformer. Transformer aging is caused by insulation breakdown resulted from chemical degradation processes that are accelerated by oxidation and increasing temperature. To assess the loss of life of the transformer, the most commonly used is to use the thermal characteristics of the transformer. The increasing use of photovoltaic which is starting to spread in various regions is one proof that renewable energy is starting to be relied on. This has both positive and negative impacts, both for the power system as a whole and for electrical equipment. This article discusses various previous studies that examined the effect of the use of photovoltaic on the deterioration of the distribution transformer condition. This review article is divided into three parts. The first is the effect of PV penetration which affects the performance of the transformer insulation based on the loading during operation. The second is the effect of harmonics generated by the PV system on the transformer aging. The last is to discuss some of the previous studies that proposed methods in reducing harmonics in the system.

Abstract

Kebutuhan energi listrik selalu mengalami peningkatan, diikuti meningkatnya pertumbuhan penduduk. Permasalahan akan muncul apabila kebutuhan energi listrik tidak diperkirakan. Maka perlu dilakukan peramalan kebutuhan energi listrik untuk memprediksikan ketersediaan energi listrik di masa mendatang. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan peramalan kebutuhan energi listrik menggunakan metode regresi linier pada sektor industri di Jawa Timur untuk tahun 2023-2027. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan prediksi dan MAPE (2009- 2021), didapatkan metode regresi linier masih baik dan layak digunakan menurut standar MAPE. Kemudian dibandingkan hasil prediksi dan MAPE (2010-2020) antara metode regresi linear dengan metode time series pada penelitian sebelumnya, didapatkan metode time series menghasilkan prediksi dan MAPE lebih baik dibanding metode regresi linier pada pelanggan listrik, sedangkan pada daya tersambung, energi listrik terjual, dan pendapatan penjualan energi listrik didapatkan metode regresi linier menghasilkan prediksi dan MAPE lebih baik dibanding metode time series, sehingga peramalan pada sektor industri di Jawa Timur (2023-2027) hanya menggunakan metode regresi linier. Dari peramalan ini dihasilkan akan terjadi kenaikan setiap tahun untuk pelanggan listrik sebesar 5.264 pelanggan, daya tersambung sebesar 328,49 MVA, energi listrik terjual sebesar 580,64 GWh, dan pendapatan penjualan energi listrik sebesar 1.065.266,21 Juta Rupiah ABSTRACT The need for electrical energy is always increasing, followed by increasing population growth. Problems will arise if the need for electrical energy is not estimated. So it is necessary to forecast the demand for electrical energy to predict the availability of electrical energy in the future. In this study, forecasting of electrical energy demand using linear regression method in the industrial sector in East Java for the years 2023-2027 is carried out. Based on the results of prediction calculations and MAPE (2009-2021), the linear regression method is still good and feasible to use according to MAPE standards. Then compared the results of predictions and MAPE (2010-2020) between the linear regression method with the time series method in previous studies, it was found that the time series method produced better predictions and MAPE than the linear regression method for electricity customers, while on connected power, electrical energy was sold, and income from sales of electrical energy, the linear regression method produces better predictions and MAPE than the time series method, so forecasting in the industrial sector in East Java (2023-2027) only uses the linear regression method. From this forecast, there will be an increase every year with an average of 5,264 electricity customers, 328.49 MVA connected power, 580.64 GWh of electrical energy sold, and 1,065,266.21 million Rupiah sales of electrical energy.

Abstract

Spodoptera exigua, commonly known as the beet armyworm, is a major pest affecting shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) plants, leading to significant damage and economic losses for farmers. Traditional pest control methods, such as manual caterpillar removal and pesticide application, have proven ineffective and costly. In response, this study aims to develop an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution by designing a pest control system powered by solar energy, equipped with high-voltage wires, UV lamps, and a raindrop sensor for automatic operation. The system works by converting solar energy into electrical power, which then supplies the pest control unit. The UV lamps attract moths, while the high-voltage wire eliminates them. A raindrop sensor is used to ensure the system operates efficiently by shutting off during rainfall. The method involved discussions with local farmers, design and assembly of the device, followed by field implementation and monitoring in shallot farms. The results show that the device successfully trapped between 40 to 80 moths per day, significantly reducing pest populations and lowering production costs for farmers, as the use of chemical pesticides was minimized. Additionally, the quality of shallot crops improved, leading to higher market value. The solar-powered pest control system is an effective, eco-friendly alternative for managing pest infestations in shallot farming. It offers a cost-efficient solution, reducing the need for pesticides while improving crop quality and yield.

Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memasang dan merawat sistem proteksi petir pada rumah energi di ladang garam Palang, Tuban, Jawa Timur. Rumah energi yang menggunakan tenaga surya dan angin untuk mendukung aktivitas petani garam kerap mengalami kerusakan akibat sambaran petir. Permasalahan utama adalah kerentanan peralatan listrik terhadap petir karena lokasinya yang terbuka di area tambak. Metode yang digunakan meliputi evaluasi proteksi eksternal, perencanaan proteksi internal, pemasangan perangkat proteksi seperti penangkal petir dan arrester, serta edukasi perawatan kepada petani setempat. Hasil kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keandalan sistem energi dan mengurangi risiko kerusakan akibat petir, sekaligus melindungi keselamatan para petani. Selain itu, pengabdian ini berkontribusi dalam peningkatan pengetahuan teknis petani melalui pelatihan yang diberikan​.

Abstract

The rise in power transformer load results in degradation of the condition of the transformer oil and ultimately a deficiency in the distribution of electrical energy. This degradation can be slowed down by reconditioning transformer oil based on oil color detection. This research aims to design, test and validate a transformer oil color testing system based on color sensor and microcontroller. To obtain an accurate system, tests were carried out on selecting the types of sensors, the color of the chamber walls, and the shapes of transformer oil sample vessel used. The oil color scale of the samples was determined visually according to the ASTMD1500, 2009 standard as a benchmark. The test results showed that the TCS3200 color sensor was able to detect the color of all transformer oil samples. White chamber wall and test tube as oil sample containers were chosen to increase system accuracy. Overall, the system is able to detect the color of transformer oil, convert to the ASTMD1500, 2009 standard transformer oil color scale, determine the condition of the transformer oil and conclude the level of transformer oil degradation according to CIGRE-761, 2019. Validation results showed the system had an accuracy level of 92.65%.

Abstract

Konsep urban farming merupakan konsep penanaman yang dilakukan di perkotaan dengan memanfaatkan lahan tanam yang terbatas. Salah satu UMKM di Kota Malang yang bergerak di bidang urban farming yaitu PT Tanduria Agromedia Indonesia, berdiri pada tahun 2021. PT Tanduria Agromedia Indonesia menerapkan konsep ini dengan objek tanaman yaitu tomat dan mentimun pada lahan seluas ± 100 m2. Sistem penyiraman masih dilakukan secara manual dengan ketergantungan pada manusia yang menyebabkan tidak meratanya irigasi setiap area penanaman. Selain itu, ketergantungan terhadap ketersediaan air Perumda Tugu Tirta juga mempengaruhi waktu penyiraman jika terjadi gangguan distribusi air. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk membantu mitra yaitu dengan menerapkan sistem irigasi “drip system” agar proses penyiraman setiap tanaman dapat merata. Teknik penyiraman ini dapat meningkatkan produktivitas tanam dan efisiensi lahan tanam melalui pemasangan instalasi kelistrikan pompa air yang dapat mengatur debit air tandon maupun proses irigasi.
