Abstract

This study aims to analyze the work assessment criteria that affect the quality of employee work, as well as provide solutions to improve employee performance. The methods used in this study are the Behaviorally Anchor Rating Scale (BARS) and Management By Objectives (MBO) methods. The results of this study found that there are 5 (five) factors that affect employee performance, namely attendance, work behavior, work quality, reliability, and managerial factors. These factors can be appreciated in the form of gifts, development such as skills training or improving certain abilities, and promotions. Therefore, the BARS method will provide the criteria that most affect employees, while the MBO method provides solutions to improve employees.

Abstract

CV Afri Group is one of the middlemen (agents) buying and selling palm oil in Kunto Darussalam, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau. this company is engaged in distributing palm oil to PKS, the palm oil distribution process does not always run smoothly there are risks that often occur in distribution. The risks that arise cause the distribution is not optimal. Risk management is needed to identify and detect problems in the distribution process. The FMEA method is a method used to identify the distribution process. Based on the FMEA method, there are 6 potential failures and 33 risk sub-indicators from the distribution process, such as Farmer Relations with the highest RPN value of 266.2, and based on the RPN value, 4 critical risks are obtained which will be analyzed by FTA to find roots. of existing problems

Abstract

Forklifts are a type of heavy equipment in the transport truck category. This tool functions to lift and move objects with large capacity and weight from one location to another. This study aims to determine the financial feasibility of a manual forklift business as a goods moving transport tool with a hand winch drive system in terms of market and marketing aspects, technical aspects and financial aspects. NPV (Net Present Value) is a method to calculate the difference between the present value of future cash inflows and outflows, considering a certain discount rate. IRR (Internal Rate of Return) is the rate of return generated by an investment that makes the NPV equal to zero. AE (Annual Equivalent) is an annual equivalent value that describes the annual profit generated by an investment. DPP (Discounted Payback Period) is the time required to return the initial investment by considering the time value of money.  Based on the market and marketing, the selling price of the product using the full costing method is set at around IDR 4,512,000 units, with forecasting the demand for manual forklifts in the future which is expected to increase. Technically, the marketing location of the product was chosen at Jl. Sri Indah, Kec. Rumbai, using the factor rating method. From the financial aspect, with Bank BRI interest rate of 11% as MARR, the development of manual forklifts is considered feasible because it generates a positive NPV of IDR 997.062.647,36, IRR of 16.73%, AE worth IDR 326.437.316,93, and DPP in about 1 year and 6 months.

Abstract

Indonesia as one of the largest palm oil-producing countries in the world, produces a considerable amount of waste as a result of the palm oil production process. It can utilize the waste of empty palm bunches and palm fronds to be used as bioethanol as renewable energy. Purification of bioethanol using distillation equipment. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of bioethanol distillation equipment using waste empty palm bunches and palm fronds in terms of market aspects, technical aspects, and financial aspects. The results of the research based on market aspects with the calculation of the selling price of production, forecasting, and benchmarking are declared feasible to run. Based on the technical aspects of determining the location and production process, it can be declared feasible to run because it is profitable. Based on the financial aspects by calculating NPV of IDR 850,702,895> 0, it is declared feasible because it is positive, PI of 3.67> 1 is declared feasible, IRR of 35%> 11% so that IRR is declared feasible, and PP obtained 2 years 2 months is declared feasible because it can return the investment before 5 years from the time that has been set.

Abstract

Occupational health and safety is something that cannot be separated in human resources where occupational health and safety includes preventing accidents due to work, securing materials, carrying out maintenance to improve living standards and increase productivity. At the Mr. Budi tofu factory, employees have not used Personal Protective Equipment in the production process and the unstructured layout causes work accidents on the production floor. This study aims to conduct an OHS assessment at the Pak Budi tofu factory and redesign the facility layout to reduce work accidents so that the production process is more effective and efficient. The methods used in this research are HIRARC and Blocplan Algorithm. The results of the OHS assessment at the Pak Budi tofu factory show 2 activities with a medium risk level and one activity with a low risk level, in the redesign of the facility layout the distance of material movement in the initial layout is 19.2 m and the distance of material movement in the proposed layout is 11.7 meters where there is a difference in the distance of material movement of 7.5 meters, this shows that the proposed layout can be applied to the Pak Budi tofu factory.

Abstract

Songket is an attribute of the Riau region worn by men from the Malay tribe. Not only as an attribute of regional clothing, songket is marketed as a souvenir from Riau province. The conditions stated on the songket packaging are very simple, using Oriented Polyproylene plastic packaging material without any packaging design. Meanwhile, as a souvenir product for private agencies and government officials, packaging is required to represent the product. Packaging design based on consumer desires and needs can use the Kansei Engineering method which is used in product development to achieve consumer satisfaction by analyzing human feelings and emotions and pouring them into product design. Collected and distributed to 68 respondents. Respondent responses were subjected to statistical tests and factor analysis with the results showing that there were 9 statements with values above 0.5, namely rectangular, packaging has been formed and ready to use, typical Riau Malay colors, displays business information, and songket motifs as a characteristic of Riau province. After getting the packaging design concept, consultations were carried out with experts. Professional consultations were carried out with people who have knowledge of packaging design, material needs, prices or experts in the field of songket weaving. The packaging design that has been carried out produces a packaging design according to consumer needs to attract consumer buying interest and describe it as a typical product of Riau province in choosing Malay songket products as souvenirs.

Abstract

Product planning, design, and development are essential phases in manufacturing, starting from conceptualization and system design to production, testing, and ultimately delivering superior products that meet consumer demands. For instance, in the oil palm plantation industry, efficient tools play a vital role. Harvesting significantly affects the quality of oil palm yields, with losses often occurring due to loose fruit detachment from the Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB), which fall to the ground. These loose fruits, known as "berondolan," are just as valuable as those still attached to the FFB and contribute substantially to farmers' income. Currently, farmers must manually collect these fallen fruits from beneath each tree, which is time-consuming. To address this issue, the study introduces a harvesting tool designed through reverse engineering for gathering loose oil palm fruits. After processing and analysis, the proposed tool incorporates modifications, particularly in the roller section, where two 10 cm diameter stainless steel drain holes are added. Additionally, it features two 6.5 cm diameter iron drives, enhancing efficiency by increasing collection capacity by 1.5 kg per minute compared to conventional drain hole designs.
