Abstract

Phenylbutazone is a pharmaceutical substance often added to rheumatic herbs. However, because of the complexity of the matrix caused by the presence of compounds in herbal medicines, the determination of phenylbutazone requires a time-consuming sample preparation process prior to analysis. This study was conducted to develop a specific sorbent that can be used to prepare phenylbutazone in herbal medicine. The performance of phenylbutazone Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP) was evaluated using three distinct porogens (ethanol, methanol, and methanol-chloroform (1:1)) and two polymerization procedures (bulk and precipitation). According to the results of the polymer optimization, the polymer generated by precipitation in methanol-chloroform (1:1) has good sorbent characteristics. FTIR physical characterization revealed complete polymerization. The bulk procedure produces a more physically stable sorbent than the precipitation method does.  Keywords: MIP Performance Evaluation, Phenylbutazone Molecular Imprinted Polymer, Polymer Imprinting Factor

Abstract

The content of tetracycline residues in poultry meat products can cause antibiotic resistance in humans who consume these products, so it is necessary to develop sensitive analytical techniques to determine the levels of tetracycline residues to assess the safety of these products for consumption. The molecular imprinting technique is a method to produce sorbents with molecular recognition capability of target compounds that can be used to increase the selectivity of solid phase extraction to extract tetracycline residues for further analysis. This study aimed to obtain a sorbent synthesized by molecular imprinting technique to analyze tetracycline in poultry meat products. The stages of the research began with the study of the interaction of functional monomers with template molecules, determining the association constants of functional monomers with template molecules, synthesis of imprinted polymer molecules using bulk and precipitation methods, evaluating the ability and adsorption capacity of the synthesized polymers, assess the selectivity of polymers for analog structures and physical characteristics with FTIR. The research showed that methacrylic acid was the best functional monomer with a binding energy value of -27.3776 kcal/mol. The higher adsorption capacity was achieved by Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP) that was synthesized by precipitation method (MIP2) than the other MIP synthesized by bulk polymerization (MIP1) with a value of 0.8748 mg/g and 0.4077 mg/g, respectively. The analogous compounds' imprinting factor values for each MIP were 1.197 and 1.1272. The polymer synthesized by molecular imprinting technique is selective for extracting and analyzing tetracycline from poultry meat matrix.

Abstract

Glibenklamid merupakan salah satu obat antidiabetes golongan sulfonilurea yang digunakan dalam penanganan diabetes melitus tipe 2 dan penggunaannya yang jangka panjang sehingga untuk mengetahui efektivitas obat tersebut diperlukan monitoring kadar obat dalam sampel biologis. Secara umum analisis glibenklamid dapat menggunakan metode Solid Phase Extraction (SPE). Salah satu kelemahan SPE yaitu kurang selektif sehingga kemungkinan masih terdapat komponen lain selain analit yang ikut terekstraksi dari matriks sampel. Maka digunakan teknik Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP) untuk memperbaiki kekurangan SPE. Tujuan dilakukan review ini untuk mengetahui efisiensi penggunaan MIP sebagai metode pemisahan glibenklamid dari berbagai matriks sampel biologis. Review artikel ini dilakukan dengan menelusuri dan mengkaji jurnal ilmiah nasional maupun internasional tentang MIP-SPE yang diperoleh dari situs google.com, Google Scholar, Science Direct, ResearchGate dan PubMed. Berdasarkan hasil review, rata-rata nilai % recovery MIP-SPE lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan SPE. Penggunaan MIP sebagai metode pemisahan glibenklamid dari berbagai matriks sampel biologis lebih efisien.

Abstract

The wealth of biodiversity and the abundance of native Indonesian germplasm resources have not been optimally utilized domestically. Malay apple, which belongs to the myrtaceae family, has various health benefits. However, its utilization is still limited, thus requiring ideas to increase public interest in this fruit. Therefore, innovation is carried out by transforming malay apple  into kombucha fermentation beverages as a step to optimize its utilization. The research aimed to measure the total alcohol content, total acid, and total sugar in the formulation of kombucha beverages derived from malay apple  fruit juice, with the goal of developing it into a functional beverage. The research process involved testing alcohol content using gas chromatography, measuring total acid by alkalimetric titration method, and measuring total sugar content by anthrone method. The research results showed that the malay apple  kombucha sample  the level  of alcohol content was 0.0213%, the total acid was 1.38% (<2 g/L), and the total sugar was 0.807 µg. The kombucha malay apple which category halal kombucha.

Abstract

Bisphenol A (BPA) merupakan bahan kimia yang banyak digunakan pada plastik polikarbonat, khususnya botol minuman. Paparan BPA berlebih diketahui dapat mengganggu sistem hormon, menurunkan kualitas reproduksi, serta meningkatkan risiko penyakit kronis. Penyuluhan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat mengenai bahaya BPA. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei awal untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan responden, diikuti pemberian pemberian materi penyuluhan menggunakan brosur edukasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden belum memahami risiko BPA, terbukti dari dominasi penggunaan botol plastik sekali pakai serta kurangnya perhatian terhadap label “BPA Free”. Penyuluhan ini efektif meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan bahaya BPA dan pentingnya memilih kemasan yang aman. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya edukasi berkelanjutan, regulasi ketat, serta dorongan penggunaan alternatif ramah lingkungan guna melindungi kesehatan sekaligus mengurangi pencemaran plastik.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) merupakan kolaborasi antara Farmasi UNIGA dengan Politeknik Kesehatan Bandung yang diselenggarakan di SDN 3. Anak-anak usia sekolah sering mengonsumsi jajanan yang tidak sehat di sekolah maupun di lingkungan tempat tinggalnya. Makanan dengan kandungan gula yang tinggi, termasuk ke dalam makanan yang tidak sehat, karena anak-anak dapat berisiko menderita penyakit mulut seperti karies gigi, obesitas, diabetes mellitus bahkan mengalami kerusakan ginjal. Metode PKM yang dilakukan yaitu melalui penyuluhan secara langsung dengan menggunakan power point dan pembagian flyer dengan tujuan mengedukasi siswa SDN 3 yang berjumlah 61 orang mengenai bahaya makanan dan minuman tinggi gula dalam kemasan terhadap kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM dibagi menjadi tiga tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan siswa sebelum penyuluhan 63,3% menjadi 81,2% setelah penyuluhan mengenai definisi karies gigi, penyebab karies dan cara pencegahannya. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan PKM dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara keselurahan penyuluhan telah berhasil menigkatkan pemahaman siswa secara signifikan sebesar 90%. Melalui penyuluhan juga memberikan informasi mengenai batas konsumsi gula harian serta mendorong perubahan pola pikir siswa terhadap konsumsi makanan dan minuman tinggi gula, sehingga dapat menanamkan kebiasaan hidup sehat dengan menjaga kesehatan mulut dan gigi.Abstract: Community Service (PKM) is a collaboration between UNIGA Pharmacy and Bandung Health Polytechnic which is held at SDN 3. School age children often consume unhealthy snacks at school and in their living environment. Foods with high sugar content are unhealthy foods, because children can be at risk of suffering from oral diseases such as dental caries, obesity, diabetes mellitus and even kidney damage. The PKM method used is through direct counseling using power points and distributing flyers with the aim of educating 61 SDN 3 students about the dangers of packaged foods and drinks high in sugar on dental and oral health. Implementation of PKM activities is divided into three stages, namely the preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. The evaluation results showed that there was an increase in students' knowledge before the counseling from 63.3% to 81.2% after the counseling regarding the definition of dental caries, the causes of caries and how to prevent it. Based on the results of PKM activities, it can be concluded that over all the extension has succeeded in increasing students' understanding significantly by 90%. Through counseling, we also provide information regarding daily sugar consumption limits and encourage changes in students' mindsets towards consuming foods and drinks high in sugar, so that they can instill healthy living habits by maintaining oral and dental health.

Abstract

Jajan merupakan aktivitas yang sangat disukai oleh ana-anak. Terkadang jajanan yang dipilih tidak memperhatikan aspek kesehatan. Pada dasarnya kebiasaan jajan sudah membudaya pada diri anak-anak. Penyuluhan tentang jajanan sehat dan halal bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran siswa dalam memilih makanan yang aman, bergizi, dan sesuai syariat. Penelitian ini menggunakan data kuesioner terkait pengetahuan dan perilaku siswa mengenai pangan halal dan sehat. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa mengetahui definisi pangan halal 80% dan penyebab pangan harus halal sebelum membeli jajanan, dengan pilihan jajanan favorit berupa snack 57,1% dan susu sebagai minuman favorit 45,7%. Meskipun pengetahuan siswa cukup baik, masih terdapat kecenderungan memilih makanan olahan dan minuman manis yang berpotensi berbahaya, penyuluhan ini diharapkan dapat membangun kebiasaan sehat di sekolah dengan dukungan guru, orang tua, dan penyediaan kantin sehat.

Abstract

Kebiasaan konsumsi jajanan pada anak sekolah dasar memerlukan perhatian khusus karena tingginya peredaran jajanan rendah gizi serta potensi penggunaan bahan berbahaya seperti formalin dan boraks. Kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai keamanan pangan dapat meningkatkan risiko gangguan kesehatan pada anak. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran siswa SD Muhammadiyah 2 Garut mengenai karakteristik jajanan sehat serta bahaya bahan tambahan pangan berbahaya. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi registrasi, pre-test, ceramah interaktif, demonstrasi uji formalin dan boraks pada sampel bakso dan sosis, post-test serta pembagian flyer. Peserta kegiatan berjumlah 24 siswa kelas VI. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa, dari nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 85,84% menjadi 100% pada post-test. Peningkatan ini menunjukkan bahwa metode edukasi partisipatif yang memadukan materi visual dan demonstrasi efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Melalui demonstrasi, siswa juga memperoleh pengalaman langsung dalam mengenali ciri makanan yang berpotensi mengandung bahan berbahaya. Kesimpulannya, kegiatan PKM berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran siswa tentang jajanan sehat serta bahaya formalin dan boraks. Kegiatan edukasi berbasis demonstrasi terbukti efektif dalam memperkuat pemahaman anak sekolah dasar. Untuk mendukung keberlanjutan dampaknya , disarankan agar sekolah melakukan edukasi lanjutan secara berkala, meningkatkan pengawasan kantin, serta melibatkan orang tua dalam mendorong kebiasaan konsumsi jajanan yang lebih sehat, aman dan bergizi.
